I didn't think you were "allowed" to push longer than 3 hours.... I have a friend who her hospital let push for 5, tried vacuum and forceps, and then she ended up in an emergency c section. But I thought there was a liability issue with hospitals allowing longer than 3 hours, no?

I think this like all things varies by hospital and situation. I know of one hospital near here that would let you go longer if baby is ok.

Baby was fine and I actually had no idea about this rule... I thought I just had to push till baby came out. After the doctor was like if you said you gave up we would have done a c section. I was Ike ummm I didn't know that was an option... needless to say i was pretty jacked up. But, I did it!!! #girlpower!
ETA , I think thats why I never posted my birth story. Im still kinda traumatized.... haha.

I'm pretty sure they changed the rule to allow longer for pushing. The average first time mom pushes for 2 hours. They realized recently that as long as baby is ok there's no reason to not let mom push for many hours.
There's not much we can do for baby congestion right?
Nose Frida and saline, I use Vicks too but shhh, I think that may be frowned upon. I also believe Zarbees makes an infant product but I have never used it. You would have to make sure it was the infant one as the toddler ones are honey based. Hope little miss feels better soon! :-(

Ditto! We have had some struggles with congestion and that's what we do
So, how many hours did your kids cry per day at 8 weeks? I'm looking at all of these sample "schedules" online and they're all organized into half hour to hour and a half blocks. And I'm over here trying to get my kid to hang out for more than 20 minute without a melt down.
Normal. Those schedules are BS, I have no idea what planet those babies are from that they based them off.

Three days in and I'm just now realizing that it's June. Not only that, but I found out I was pregnant this month last year and now realize a March 2017 board is on the horizon. Where does the time go?

H graduated yesterday!!! Put and photo in the SO thread on the private board... LO was such a champ at graduation and it was such a long day!!! She fell asleep halfway through the wall to grad, slept all the way through the processional and the speaker (it was Matt Damon, so I was super happy she slept through it and I could hear). It was her longest nap ever except for on our long drive. Then she woke up and ate really well (they had an infant feeding/changing tent, which was super nice of them). She made it through the crazy amount of names that had to be called before H with only some fussiness. She took a few catnaps during the two receptions we went to, and woke up enough to say hi to H's classmates. Then I took her home around 4 for some solo time. She was very grateful to be home, we had been out since like 8. Then she had her best night of sleep ever.

I read this quickly and thought you were announcing another pregnancy! Hmmm...wonder who will be first to get KO again??
