DH had an easy bake oven in his apartment when we first met. He got it as a gag gift from one of his frat brothers the year before as a hannukah gift. I was very tempted to go buy the stuff needed to make something with it!
my mom wouldn't let me get a Tamagotchi. I remember going to the mall on a Friday night with friends and i bought it with the money I had been saving. i got into a lot of trouble for buying such an expensive toy behind her back.
I listened to "I think we're alone now" on repeat alllll year long one year. So much so that me & my bff at the time performed to this song at a Talent Show in show. So embarassing. We did a dance to it. I was the girl and she was the boy. I wore a really pink, frilly prom-like dress, she wore a suit. The only thing I remember about the dance is that we did this weird backwards self-hug multiple times.
Yes! I had 'Walk like an Egyptian' and 'Manic Monday'.
My cousins friend has the last name Baker. He is a DJ on the side and his name is DJ EZBake /relevant
At the wedding we went to last weekend the music was a mix of top 40 now and 90s music. I went HAM when "wannabe" came on thanks to a handful of vodka tonics /also relevant
I was hanging out with the kids outside last night before bed and there were lightening bugs out. I loooooved catching them as a kid Then I started thinking about summer time as a kid - playing spot light, playing in the sprinkler, making soups out of mud and berries, and those sickly sweet popsicles in the clear plastic. I think someone brought them up a few days ago, we called them freeze pops
Ok I've been thinking about this for awhile now and came up with a few after being reminded of Polly Pockets. These were some of mine and my sisters favourites when we were a little bit older.
Pony Surpise-I had this one. The mom comes with the babies in her belly and you don't know what babies you will get
Quints-I was reminded of these the other day when I saw them on a buy and sell page and had to ask my sister if I should buy them haha.
Kitty Kitty kittens-just google searched 'stuffed cat with the balls inside to sound like purring" my sister had the cats and I had puppies that squeaked. (Which were apparently appropriately names Puppy Puppy Puppies lol)

I wanted a cabbage patch kid so bad, but never got one. I bought one as an adult for speech therapy with my preschoolers, though. Then returned it the next day because I couldn't justify the $$.
I loved My Buddy though- "My buddy, my buddy, wherever I go, he goes.."
Summer time as a kid was a lot as ashbash described - but we also rode our bikes everywhere. We would walk to the corner store and buy a jewish pickle - only to have eaten the whole thing before getting back home! My mom would also call ahead to the store and they would sell us cigarettes for her!
Also we would play baseball in the streets. My one friend had an inground pool, we would all be there all summer playing colors and practicing diving. Also concocting different ways to slide into the pool.
The best.
I used to buy cigs for my grandma too! Can you imagine now trying that?? CPS would be on you like white on rice
