We finished packing our hospital bag about 20 min before I went into labor, and the car seat was installed a few hours before that. I feel like baby was waiting until those two things were finally done and then he said "it's go time!"

bgkc4 I'm sorry you had a tough delivery and are having a hard time with breastfeeding. It's all so new and you and DD need to learn together. I second seeing a LC if you have not. Try to relax and let DH help as much as possible.

bgkc4... I just read your birth story. After a long labor with pitocin and then pushing AND THEN a c-section..... give yourself lots of time and take it easier than you think you need too. I also think that kind of delivery makes them slow nursers in the beginning. Keep at it and I'll echo mladerri... Lactation consultants are the best. Keep up the good work, don't be too hard on yourself... You're doing great and will feel like yourself again soon!!!
Welcome home bgkc4! I empathize with the struggle and hope you can work it out soon you're a great mama, keep it up. Also everything that frecklesnbrains said so eloquently
I think I got kind of brainwashed into assuming this baby will be late. Everyone has been telling me first babies are late, all my siblings and I were really late, etc. Now I'm seeing all these babies surprising the June moms and I'm nervous! I need another week!
woodengirl07 that is amazing. I would love to know what the justification for 4 eye shadows was!
bgkc4 Glad to hear you guys are home and doing well! I'm sorry to hear breastfeeding is a challenge, but doing your best IS good enough, as long as your little one is getting what she needs to be happy and healthy. Whether that be from breastmilk or formula.
bgkc4 I felt the same way with how much formula DD2 was getting. My milk is still trying to come in and we are five days out. You are doing everything right. Have you guys been doing latching with a feeding tube for the babe? It makes our feedings a two person job but makes me feel better and stimulate the breasts. No matter what you are doing great!

bgkc4, just want to echo @flair Underwood and others, breastfeeding even in the most ideal situations can be one of the hardest things physically and emotionally. It's not easy in the moment, I know but try not to be hard on yourself, do whatever you feel comfortable doing as far as breastfeeding and but try to keep yourself and your sanity in mind as well. Your baby is loved and healthy and you are doing an amazing job!
bgkc4 I just read your full birth story. You are an incredibly strong woman!! You definitely need to go easy on yourself after such an intense labor experience. I know you are doing an amazing job!! As for a LC they are so helpful, but not all will work for you (I saw 3 before I found one that worked best for me) so even if you have seen one, you might want to see another one to see if their techniques work better for you. You totally got this!!! Sending you so much love!
I got a hair cut yesterday to try to fix an unsatisfactory haircut I got a few weeks ago. It's now way too short, still I think it's better than before but way too short. Why are hair stylists so obsessed with thinning out hair? My hair is not thick or thin but almost every hair cut I get includes a lot of thinning it out which then just means I have to use styling and product to give it volume. Should have started years ago but I've finally realized I need to explicitly ask them not to do that.
No plans for today, we have a heat spell coming through starting tomorrow and through the week, I might be spending a lot of time in DS's kiddy pool.

Yes, exactly this, this is really good to keep in mind.

Broke down, went to Walmart and bought a bunch of large cheap clothes. I feel sooooooo much better now that things fit! Now that I did in sure I will go into labor any second....murphys law

So you're saying I should hold off on these two things if I'm not quite ready?

bgkc4 we are having latching issues and supply issues as well. It's gotten better in the last two weeks, but I still am supplementing with formula at every feeding. I saw several lactation consultants in the hospital and an outside visit as well. I don't have any advice, but just to say you aren't alone!
Well, I'm headed to the hospital to have an NST done bc I have only felt the baby move 3 times in the last hour. And that's after I drank a Dr Pepper and laid on my left side. I hadn't felt her at all before this. I'm worried.
Last night I thought my water broke, but I was just peeing a little. I'd just gone pee and didn't realize at first that it kept trickling as I walked to the kitchen. Late pregnancy is so glamorous.
