Greetings from Chicago, where I am the lead chaperone for the honor society's field trip. Close to 90 8th graders for 3 days. My biggest anxiety? Finding places and time to pump. And being away from J, of course.
Any tips for a first trip away from home with a baby?
I have to drive 2 hrs with baby alone, go to a party, meet with a friend, and then drive another hour to meet up with my husband and stay in a hotel. We have a family thing tomorrow and then we have a three hour drive back.
I want to cry. Did I mention LO hates car rides?
If it were me I would try to leave right at LO's normal longest nap time and hope she slept in the car for most of it. Then stay at the friend's until she's ready to sleep again and hope for the best. We've gone on a few 2-3 hour trips so far and nap time seems to work the best. Once we had to stop at a rest stop so I could feed her but she was ok after that. But my LO doesn't seem to mind the car. Good luck!

How do you clean LO's ears? I was just doing wash cloth in the bath, but it kinda seems like they need more...
All four of us use these to remove the wax from our ears. Occasionally I'll use a Qtip with rubbing alcohol to clean the rest of the ear, but the canal gets the tool.
It can break if too much force is used, but that's never been an issue when I clean the kids' ears.
The pregnancy board really seems to be picking up steam, I am a little jealous I so wanted it to be a thing when we were pregnant.
Seriously!!! When I first got pregnant it was pretty good, but everyone was like 20+ weeks and I was like 6 weeks pregnant. They were all talking about names, and gear, and swamp crotch and I was like "I still don't know if there is really anything in my ute", so I didn't participate much.
Also why do people keep telling me "she doesn't look tired" when I tell them it's time for LO to nap/sleep. I know when my kid is freakin tired. Literally every time I go to put her down my mom is like "she doesn't look tired" (we are at my parents right now)

How did the field trip go?
For the most part, really well. We're almost home right now (6:30 Sunday night). Had some issues with our bus driver - not wanting to follow GPS or the tour director, as well as him hitting the overhang of our hotel and shattering a portion of the windshield while we were on the bus - but the kids were great and had a good time. Thanks for asking!

This happened to a bus I was on once. It was on the way to a sorority formal so it was a busload of drunk people. I imagine the reaction was similar to the reaction of a busload of kids!

So I used to wake up and take LO downstairs for MOTN feedings then put her back in bassinet and I went to bed... that was getting exhausting since going back to work so I tried feeding her side-lying. Works great except I fall asleep, when I realize and try to move her to bassinet she wakes up. I do not want to bed share, I still have my 4yo climbing in to my bed a few times a week at 3am I was my bed. I don't know how to fix this

I keep the Boppy next to my bed and feed DS there and then put him back into the pnp next to my bed when I'm done. Where is her bassinet?

I had been thinking of trying one arm out swaddle for E. Well last night she woke up a couple hours earlier than usual. The reason. . She managed to get her entire Arm out of her swaddle and was pissed. Both arms it is.

Right next to my bed. So you're saying just sit up in bed instead of laying? I've tried and its so uncomfortable since there no where to lean.

I also feed side lying MOTN I used to fall asleep all the time, but I don't really anymore. I also don't want to cosleep. I just try and stay awake... If I feel myself drifting I grab my phone or w/e. Fortunately LO is a pretty quick eater usually.

I sleep with a body pillow and a normal pillow. I fold the body pillow in half and put it behind my back with my normal pillow leaning back against the headboard and nurse with the Boppy. I am way too lazy to walk downstairs! How big is your master bedroom? Can you drag an armchair or rocking chair into it for a few months?
