1) How many kiddos do you have and what are their ages? 1 DD, 3 in July and 1 DD on the way due Halloween

2) How long have you been staying at home? 3 years, I can't believe I've been home this long already

3) Do you have any questions for "seasoned" SAHM's or advice you can give to newer SAHM's? It's ok to miss adult interactions. Find a way you can satisfy that. I take DD to Story Time and Mommy and Me for the both of us. I also found some great ladies at our local children's consignment shop I talk to every now and then.

4) What is your favorite movie? This changes all the time. Right now I'm loving musicals I can sing to: Chicago, The Newsies, Moulin Rouge, Rent.

5) What is your favorite TV show? Greys, I've stood by it for 12 years now

6) When you are bored how do you "kill time"? Interwebs: here, pinterest

7) What can't you get enough of right now? Freeze Pops

8) What are you looking forward to the most this summer? Soaking in the time we have left with some freedom before a newborn is in the picture again

9) Do you have any trips planned and where? I plan on buying a Summer Pass that covers 4 places. I want to look up individual prices first to make sure we don't waster any money. The pass covers the zoo, an aquarium, lion safari, and another museum

10) Do you have any advice on how to keep spending low while planning summer travel? Look for deals on Groupon and summer passes when you can find them. Know there are free things to do. There is a Kids Bowl Free and Kids Skate Free summer program available nationwide.

DD1 is a little over 2 & DD2 is 6.5 months

I started a Pinterest board but what are some of your favorite rainy day activities?
Don't beat yourself up if your house isn't as clean as you want, the mess will still be there so soak up some time with your kiddos!

These are the ones I have set to record every week: Chicago PD, Fire, & Med, Quantico, Law & Order SVU, Grey's, & Blue Bloods

If I have time to myself I just play on my phone. With the kiddos I will usually pack us up and walk around a store

Being able to do a lot of fun stuff with DD1 now that she is old enough to be into more stuff.

We will be taking a 17 hour car ride for my BIL's wedding, other than that nothing.

Look for free activities in your area, splash pads are a great activity. Also find playgrounds and parks in the area and try out new ones, you can always take a picnic lunch as well.

If I'm doing laundry or cleaning I like to watch musicals...right now we're watching Fiddler on the Roof.
If I'm actually just watching a movie I like The Departed.

Game of Thrones is my favorite current show. Favorite shows that have ended are The Shield and Battlestar Galactica.

6) When you are bored how do you "kill time"?
I read a book or cross stitch.

7) What can't you get enough of right now?
Fresh strawberries. We went strawberry picking this weekend and they are really good!

8) What are you looking forward to the most this summer?
My parents coming to visit for DD's birthday.

9) Do you have any trips planned and where?
No trips planned. We're trying to save money to plan a trip to Europe next year for our 10th anniversary.

10) Do you have any advice on how to keep spending low while planning summer activities?
My city normally has free things to do on Tuesdays (the zoo, museums that receive government funding, the botanical garden). We also have free family movie nights at the park every Friday in June. I guess my suggestion would be to look up free or reduced cost things to do where you live or in neighboring towns.

Again I have lots but a most recent newer fave is Scandal

TCFing & watch tv

all the activities DS is signed up for & being one step closer to kindergarten!

9) Do you have any trips planned and where?
I'm getting surgery in July so we deliberately don't have any trips planned to compensate for the deductible that we'll have to pay. HOWEVER, once I'm healed we're going to Chicago. We've been talking about it forever.

10) Do you have any advice on how to keep spending low while planning summer travel?
Definitely look for free activities. Festival season is upon us so I have a local festival site that shows all the neighboring events. All of them are usually free. County websites, parks dept sites, macaroni kid if you have one in your area are great resources. We are usually someplace new every weekend when we have the energy. Plenty of cheap/free things to do & if you want to do something that normally has admission (zoos, museums, etc) check out local garage sale sites, craigslist, or ebay. Sometimes people are selling their tickets for a fraction of the cost for whatever reason.

Hmm. I like a lot of shows but all time favorite is probably South Park.

Crafting, hiking, or baking.

Going to the beach and camping.

Plan everything ahead of time. Research where you're going and look for deals on dining and events.

I feel like there is no way I can keep up on housework and take care of DS (he will be 4 weeks on Friday) and it's making me kind of down.

5) What is your favorite TV show? Toss up between the Flash, The Path, and Gotham

6) When you are bored how do you "kill time"? Binge watching shows on Netflix. It used to be reading but with the new LO I seem to have no way to read

9) Do you have any trips planned and where? Possibly to see MHs grandmother. She's not doing well and we'd like her to meet DS and know we are thinking of her.

Advice would be to do whatever helps you be good for your family.

4) What is your favorite movie?
Big Fish

5) What is your favorite TV show?
Loved Fargo, Unreal, Life in Pieces... and some reality TV for when I need to zone out.

6) When you are bored how do you "kill time"?
I like to read, sew, bake, do home projects to fix up our older house.

7) What can't you get enough of right now?
Foodwise, any kind of salted caramel ice cream. Other than that, sunny and warm days (which have been not as plentiful as usual).

8) What are you looking forward to the most this summer?
Getting our butts out of town and doing a couple trips here and there. Warm weather with a 3 year old that has actually started to cooperate with wearing sunscreen (!).

9) Do you have any trips planned and where?
Probably a road trip back to see family (both our parents live about a 15-hour drive away), and a wedding in CA.

10) Do you have any advice on how to keep spending low while planning summer travel?
We drive back "home" when we can and usually end up packing a cooler full of snacks and lunch.

If someone tells you "it gets easier," they're totally lying. Certain things get easier, but others get harder. Also, threenagers and fournadoes are much worse than any 2yo tantrum I've ever seen.

Bones and BtVS


6) When you are bored how do you "kill time"?
Read, color, cook


7) What can't you get enough of right now?
Sleep! (I have a newborn after all...)

Running more often

Not til September. We tend to stay local during the summer because there is so very much to do in our immediate area. 


10) Do you have any advice on how to keep spending low while planning summer travel? Don't travel in summer! Wait til off-season.
