littlelion oh no! Hate when that happens. Hope your day isn't too bad! Today Mh is staying home with B all day. I think it's one of his first days home with him alone for pretty much the whole day. Hoping it goes well and they have fun!
reginaphalange3, thanks. I hope YH gets a lead soon. DH has been looking for about a month and no call backs. He's finally going back to the landscaping job he had last summer. It pays the most (plus overtime) and he can start tomorrow. If it wasn't for the increase in our mortgage I'm sure we could have held off a while more. I hate that job. He has to leave at 4:30 am and gets back after 7 pm. I'll be alone with Leo a lot. Good thing is that 1st tri symptoms are much better now.

littlelion thanks, I didn't realize YH was still out of work. It definitely sucks, if his interview from yesterday doesn't work out I'm really nervous this could go on awhile and as a part time teacher at a catholic school I definitely don't make enough to hold us over. He may end up taking some kind of landscape job too. Sorry YH will have long hours, I hope he finds something better asap too!
littlelion I always got I insomnia when I was KU hope it passes for you and you get some rest. reginaphalange3 FX for YH and hope he enjoys the solo day.
So my role is transitioning (for the better) at work, which is great, but my current team will be PISSED when they find out, I think (hopefully not but will see). I work with a bunch of underachieving dudes. I'm the only girl. I'm somewhat ambitious. Problems ensue. It's not a good mix. The dudes are often goofy and hilarious and raunchy, which I enjoy for the most part, but I'm clearly not invited to that party. If I do much more than laugh at their jokes, or if I do anything seen as trying to do better than them, particularly with one guy it's a huge issue. Anyway, work rant over, it'll be fine. Haven't heard back from the Spain transfer thing either, don't think that will work out, so it's full steam ahead here.
reginaphalange3 hope YH has fun hanging out with B. Keeping fx that a great job comes along soon or that he hears back quickly from his interview. littlelion that sucks that YH has such crappy hours. I'm glad your 1st tri symptoms are starting to subside. Yay for baby bump! And +1 to prenatal yoga. I practiced up until right before Christmas when I was pregnant and it was wonderful. nemomof2 glad you'll be able to enjoy your back yard more. bkmama0 congrats on having a bigger? better role at work. If your team gets pissed just tell them where they can shove it.
Not much planned for today. Signed lo up for our library's summer reading program. They have little literacy activities to do and he gets a prize after he completes so many of them.
Hi ladies! Working away over here. Just finished first lunch and already thinking about what to have for second lunch. My appetite has been crazy this week!
A little bump day action for you all (xp'd from GKU grad thread):

What I've been dealing with the last 48 hours. He keeps bringing things in the kitchen to use to climb and then falls. He's done it with one of his cars 3x this morning.
My son eats crackers. I still don't get that. I took this pic to send to my sisters...I swear my younger brother had this same shirt 20+ yrs ago! ETA: I do not hate my son. I just reread the meme where that saying comes from...

Another day at clinicals.
I was finally able to get in touch with the other contractor. We meet him on Friday.
Reallyyyy reallyyyy hoping this is the one so we can get started on our house.
Side note: our anniversary is tomorrow. We picked up my favorite wine. Now I need help deciding what kind of take-out we want and which movie to watch ? ? ?
dashook Eek! A bump! I'm only 6w6d, no signs of showing for a while. littlelion Aah another bump! I'm so jealous of you two! bkmama0 I love that dress on her! It's so cute! Also, I love when you post pics of her lunch. It gives me goals lol. BabyStandish We are having the same issues. Unfortunately, she's trying to climb on the glass coffee table to dance. No way, little girl. Not for another 15 years. ashlantic Our library has a reading program too! They reward after every 100 books read, and put her picture on the wall to show progress. I think it's really cute and I know they will appreciate us for it one day. (Even if in my own mind lol) nemomof2 Yay for finished decks! reginaphalange3 I hope YH has fun with B today. Lots of quality time together.
Really random thought: Leo spends most of his day walking, standing, running, climbing, etc while I sit thru majority of my day and have to make a point to take a daily walk.
Brought to you as I sit on a rock outside waiting for the firedrill to be over. I just finished my walk.
Went shopping with my mom this morning. LO is waking up from her nap and we are going to go play outside. I've got some gardening to do (planting and weeding) and it helps me keep an eye on her. She loves it in the backyard but sometimes I just want to sit. I fell asleep during Maya & Marty last night and I'm really upset at myself for it lol. I've been so exhausted lately, it's so unlike me. I'm usually the one with all the energy, but lately it's been the opposite. Maybe a massage will help. Oh, and first appt with my new OB on Monday! It's a "problem appt" (how they phrased it), so she's just going to check out the hemorrhage and make sure everything is okay. Hopefully, I get a lot more information and comfort.
raven GL at your appointment tomorrow! Keep us updated! ourcrazynavylife don't even get me going on contractors. I sincerely hope you have an easier renovation and it all goes well for you! ashlantic that library program sounds adorable! I'm having a Facebook usborne book party so that I can stock up Leo's library for the summer bkmama0 I agree with raven #toddlerlunchgoals #nemomof2 my deck (and entire house) is a toddler hazard zone. We have rails, but Leo can go right off the front step. Currently have makeshift barricades everywhere! reginaphalange3 did YH survive with B today? MH rarely has him the whole day entirely alone so it always makes me nervous, haha! BabyStandish at least he's persistent ?
Has anyone experienced using mederma or a scar cream on their kiddos? Leo has a pretty decent scar from his head incident a couple of weeks back. I've been using aquaphor, sunscreen and a hat to shield it from the sun, and it's still "fresh", but I'm concerned that it's going to leave a permanent mark I know he's a boy and he will get lots more, but it's very "Harry potter". I also don't want to use anything unsafe. Any suggestions? AW
dashook ahh love your bump! BabyStandish I have a climber too. He hadn't attempted counters yet, but he loves to try to climb in and out of the Ikea bins we have. ourcrazynavylife I've been craving Thai so that's my suggestion. And for a movie, sometimes dh and I would go browse the 5 dollar movie section at Target and pick something out together. littlelion lo is always on the move too! I guess he forces me to be more active. Especially when he wants to go walking down the sidewalk, gets tired, and I have to carry him back home. raven the 1st trimester fatigue kicked my ass big time with lo! Fx for a good appt! sgio7485 some of my friends sell Usborne and I love their books! They have some cute ones. As far a scars, I had a student who had a pretty big one on her cheek. She used this crazy expensive prescription cream, but we mostly made sure to put sunscreen on whenever she was outside. Btw- he looks like such a little man in that outfit!
Today ended up being pretty low key, which was nice. Did some laundry because lo woke up wet from nap 2 days in a row, ugh. Spent some time outside too. In the time it took me to switch a load of laundry, lo took every single book out so he could sit in the box and read.

nemomof2 thanks, glad it be nicer for you to get out on the deck! littlelion adorable bump...and I wish I moved half as much as B, I'd be much closer to my prepregnancy weight! bkmama0 GL with your work transition, show those boys how it's done! ashlantic thanks! Reading program sounds cute, we plan on spending lots of time there this summer too! dashook love your bump...and feed that baby! BabyStandish we've started climbing here too! ourcrazynavylife hope this contractor is awesome and you enjoy your anniversary! raven good luck with your appointment tomorrow...hope you like her and get good news! sgio7485 haha Mh did survive, but had to wake him up from a two hour morning nap (wth baby!! You don't do that for me or your babysitter!!) I was a little nervous though, so hopefully it goes as well tomorrow! Also we did use some mederma kids on B's scar when he had his little surgery near his eyebrow. The surgeon had said the most important thing is keeping it out of the sun but said some scar cream works well too. She actually recommended a different brand that I can't think of right now, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Honestly we weren't/aren't too consistent with the mederma so I can't say how much it has or hasn't helped. (Is that Leo's new room?? It is so cute!)
ashlantic I love the usborne books! I feel like they're great quality and great picks for our LOs age group! reginaphalange3 I will try some mederma. That is LOs new room, in progress! It's actually the room I grew up in, repainted with new flooring!

So as I said to sgio Mh seemed to have a good day with B. Although I'm jealous he got a super long morning nap! Hoping things go smoothly tomorrow and that we hear back about the interview soon! B has been running (and stumbling) all over and is covered in scraped and brushburns! I feel so bad for him cause I can remember how much those hurt! Anyone have tips on how or what to use to clean them out with? We usually jus use a wet paper towel to clean as much as possible then slathering neosporin. Trying to clean them is the worst part for sure!
