Did I miss a Thursday randoms page or did we not want to participate yesterday lol?!
Yesterday me, the girls, my parents, and my sister (who is off now for summer) went to a local wildlife center and forest preserve. They rehabilitate (or permanently care for) injured animals found and brought in by people who live around there. We saw baby animals and lots of birds and owls, a red fox, a bobcat...ect. The girls liked it. And it's free! Then we went to a train themed diner for lunch which was okay. DD1 loved it though. I thought it was loud and too small for the amount of kids fresh out of school for the summer.
Today we are going to the opening day of the annual Wilton Warehouse Sale! Gonna get me some good deals! It is usually in a tent and it's hot and crowded and hard to move around. It's the 1st time it'll be indoors so I'm excited to see if it's better!
No Thursday thread around here, it's quite dead these days.
I feel like shit, my patience with my child is wearing thin, and I just want to fry because H is leaving town Sunday for a few days. The thing is its for his granddad's funeral who passed away yesterday. Yeah I am a selfish and terrible wife at the moment.
Nothing much of interest around here this week. It's rainy. DS and I signed up for our respective summer reading programs at the library. His twelfth tooth is breaking through so sleep is rough.
dreemkin that wildlife center sounds absolutely amazing. aggiebug hugs. I'm sorry for your family's loss, and I'm sorry you're in a rough spot. Wish I could come give you a break for a few days!
Anyone have the tommee tippee valves that are recalled? I have 4 fairly new ones. I recently noticed one smelled moldy and re-washed it. I rarely send in products to get new ones but we use them a lot in our sippy cup rotation (having 4 of them and all) so I think I'm going to send them.

Counters are being installed in my kitchen right now! A little nerve wracking, hoping everything comes out right.
lilyelayne the training went really well and I got lots of positive feedback. We've had so much turn over with people leaving and new people joining that I think we made a lot of assumptions about basic things we thought people just understood even though we never actually told them. Even some of the folks who have been here a few months said they learned some things so I'd say it was a success.
dreemkin the knew ones I purchased don't have those valves. If you are noticing a problem them get them exchanged. I know that theoretically they can be cleaned appropriately but it's a pain and they are offering a better solution so take it.
So the drive in did not go well. V was way to jazzed up that he could be in the car without being in his seat and wanted to push all the buttons. So he did not fall asleep very well and it ended up I missed the first 3/4 of the first movie trying to chill with him in the very back. Will not try that again till he is older!
Yesterday we picked up some herb plants while we were at the hardware store picking up some things to repair our stupid irrigation pump. So I now have a little kitchen herb planter. When we get the windows replaced we are going to have a garden window installed in the kitchen, I kinda wish we could bump that project up so I could have more plants inside.
DH and I have been cleaning like crazy to get the house ready for pictures for selling. We plan to list on tues so the girls are going to the ILs for 5 days since we don't want them around when there are going to be showings. I'm going to take a couple days off but the other days I'll just be kicking at home alone. Not gonna lie, sorta looking forward to it.
Today I sold the rock n play sleeper. I posted it the other day online but today when someone wanted it I had a really hard time agreeing to sell it. It was the first place we put both our girls when we brought them home from the hospital. ;(

Jealous! I've always wanted a herb planter. Maybe I'll get one at my new house!
On a trip since it's a holiday weekend and H is running a race. Almost no one is staying at the hotel. DS and I went down for breakfast and asked at the front desk where the hotel restaurant (aka where breakfast should be) was. DS and I play for 20 minutes waiting for them to open. Go back to the desk to ask about breakfast and I'm told we have to order it. No one said anything about that at check in and I would think me asking about the restaurant while carrying a toddler at 8am would be an indication to the guy working the desk that we didn't know about ordering. Get breakfast and coffee finally.
If I'd known, I would have put DS in his stroller and walked to a restaurant for breakfast. Luckily I had one last carrot muffin left to feed DS while we waited.
We've had a busy couple of days. A good friend of DH passed away very unexpectedly earlier this week. Funeral is today. There was about a two hour wait just to get into the viewing yesterday so I'm sure today is going to be very crowded.
kartish sorry the drive in was a bust. I think it'll still be a viable option sooner than a traditional movie theatre! mishka29 fx your house sells quickly! seamonster I rolled my eyes at the clueless front desk. Hope the rest of the weekend is fun! tortor4 sorry for your loss.
kartish I'm kinda thought the drive-in wouldn't go well; if your LO is like mine lol. Maybe in a few months!
mishka29 I can't get rid of any of our baby stuff either. I don't have the heart to. I'm hoping my sister can eventually use it but I don't think so =(
seamonster you would think that the hotel would be more mindful of their guests. Mom with a kid asking about breakfast should give them a giant clue that you actually want to eat.
Working today, but getting off early for the annual salmon bake fundraiser that a local firehouse does. Salmon is flown in from Alaska in the morning, then grilled up and topped with the best sauce; and it's all you can eat. Yum!
Last night we went to a splash pad. The girls loved it. Even though it was a bit cold, LO couldn't miss out. She has FOMO hardcore. Today H is working this morning so we're just hanging out now. Looks like a storm is rolling in.
Tomorrow we are participating in Take Steps for Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). My father suffers from Crohn's. This and other IBDs are such debilitating diseases. And if it isn't bad enough, this usually affects children which is like doublely unfair. This walk is a great way to raise awareness and much needed funds for research and cures. I know it makes my father feel supported, understood, and loved. It should be a happy, yet sad, yet wonderful morning for the family and community.
tortor4 I am sorry for you loss. It sounds like he was well loved and seeing so many people come to celebrate his life and mourn the loss touched his family. May you continue to share your fond memories of him with those that loved him most.

The counters look really great, the electrician came today to install the pendants over our new island. It's a bit strange seeing it come all together now - I feel like its been under construction so long I don't really remember what it looked like before.
My younger brother accepted a job here in Jersey and he starts on Monday. He hasn't found an apartment yet and I got the text I've been expecting today asking if he can stay here. Obviously he can, but I can tell DH isn't thrilled about it and I hope my little bro continues to look for a place of his own and doesn't just view this as a free place to live for awhile - could get awkward.
dmorgendorffer maybe you and your H can go ahead & agree on how long your brother is allowed to stay. And then either tell him that up front or figure out at what point you'll let him know he's nearing the end of his stay. That way at least there's a plan?
G and I went to my SIL's for dinner tonight. He always has the best time with his cousins. DH is at a bachelor party so I've got the house to myself once G falls asleep.
Salmon was awesome as usual! V ate some, but he didn't like the sauce, so he didn't eat too much.
dmorgendorffer as someone who had a sibling move in for "just a month or two till we find a place" that turned into over two years, I would suggest setting some agreements up prior to him staying with you.

DD has become nocturnal. Is there a 15 month sleep regression? At least her being up screaming every night should be motivating for my brother to find his own place.
Thanks a lot for the well wishes. The funeral was tough but DH and some family and friends got up to say a few words and it was beautiful. I was so proud of DH for what he said. Without getting into too much detail, this man was a huge part of A LOT of lives.
Anyway. Rainy day here so we'll probably go to an indoor soft play place since C was so great at the funeral and viewing. I'm thinking she needs some good fun.
The benefit walk was nice! My dad appreciated it and had a good time. The first lap of the walk was completed by patients and I choked up a little, especially to see my dad (one of the oldest) out there. I'm glad I was able to participate this year. Usually I'm working the weekend of it.
dmorgendorffer DS's sleep had been extra cranky lately. Advil helps so I'm hoping its teeth? Seems to also be separation anxiety possibly? I'm so tired.
When DH bought this house 5 years ago, we talked about removing one of the kitchen cabinets and putting in a dishwasher. I am happy to say that dream is now a reality!! I'm stupid excited!
This weekend felt extra long bc we didn't have much to do and all the toys are packed away. But the kiddos are all packed up and they will head out tomorrow after daycare to the ILs. Oh yeah and the cat will be in the car too. Lol

lilyelayne, yup teething is definitely contributing along with separation anxiety and she's also getting over a cough. I gave her Motrin before I put her down tonight, hopefully that means she'll at least sleep until it wears off. She doesn't seem uncomfortable at all during the day, but she was asking to nurse nonstop this weekend.
