What would you ask for? (bday)

My b-day is coming up, and I'm not sure what to ask for. I don't like spas or mani/pedi stuff, and any other kind of activity is difficult due to the babysitter situation (i.e. lack thereof). What would you ask for? Maybe I can get some ideas

Books, movies, TV shows on DVD, gift cards for clothes or whatever... Really all I really want is a day off from the kids

I love books, and I always ask for them but since I read novels on my Kindle I can only ask for amazon gift certificates. I think DH and my ILs are sick of giving me amazon gift certificates

I have both. I love my ereader, but I also get a lot of hard copies. Enough that we need to buy another shelf and are putting all of them in the basement to keep the main floor from getting too cluttered.

My birthday is next weekend. I told my H I wanted a short trip out of town with him and the girls. He rented a house at the coast near a town that has a nice aquarium, and we are staying there for two nights. I'm sure the kids won't sleep at all, and I'll come home utterly exhausted, but it should be fun anyway.

Other things I would want for my birthday:

Money to go clothes shopping, and a kid-free day to do it.

Dinner out with adults.

Fancy wine.

I love to read, too, but I have zero time to read anything since dd2 has been born. I received two books as Christmas gifts and haven't even had time to crack them open. Maybe once dd1 starts preschool next year?

My hubs knows my go to is a nice bottle of wine. Apart from that I always want riding stuff but that's not helpful for you. Is there anything that you do (for fun) that needs accoutrements? If you enjoy cooking there is always something to be had for the kitchen. One more- I found that Aden and Anais has an adult size dream blanket that I now lust after.

I asked for new lawn furniture for my birthday (falling trees in an ice storm smashed my old furniture). MH also does jewelry for special occasions. I would love a weekend getaway somewhere....

I think I'd ask for a babysitter and an adult dinner. Or maybe a gift card for some exercise classes (and a babysitter) or something.

I am all over the spa day thing, so DH always gets me a big gift certificate to my favorite spa - and it's kid-free time, so that's also a bonus.

If I wasn't into spa treatments, that would be tough. I would maybe ask for money for a girl's night out at a nice restaurant with my besties - or for a day off to go to some vineyards with said besties? Anything fun involving kid-free girl time!

I may be late, but I've started a folder at home. Any time I see a bracelet, necklace, wine, anything I think I would want, I put a screen shot of it in the folder and that way DH can grab a piece of paper out of the folder and buy it. It's several things I want and even though I picked them out I'm still surprised because I don't know which one he picked to buy. I'm a watch girl BTW. LOVE watches!
