QOTW: What do you when/if you're given a religious gift? Use/display it? Stuff it in the closet and bring it out said gift giver is visiting? Throw it out? Donate it?
I have a few religious things hanging in our down stairs bathroom. They are from when my dad was alive and for some reason I have always liked the footprints thing.
I have been given cross jewelry which I never wear. It just sits in my jewelry box. I rarely wear jewelry to begin with. It seems I have been really lucky to not receive anything bulky that is religious! lol
When M was due (Christmas eve), a customer of my husband's (so basically a stranger) learned that he was expecting another child and gave us some presents for H - very kind... they were a Little People manger set and a Berenstain Bears Storybook Bible.
I found them HI-LARIOUS and H (2.5) still plays with the little people - animals, people, stable... it's all good.
The bible is still mixed in with H's books, and I will probably donate it soon. It's pretty weird.
AW/vents/encounters: none this week. QOTW: I don't believe I have ever been gifted religious items. DH has a couple of transferware plates displaying 'The story of Joseph and his brethren'. They were his grandmothers and we have them on display for sentimental reasons.
QOTW: I think the only religious gift that we get is a cd from my FIL for Easter and Christmas. I've never play them, so I have no idea what's actually on them, but I know they're religious. We just say thank you and toss them.
AW/Vents/ Encounters this week: This is from a few weeks ago but I forgot to share it then....DD is has been a challenging baby. My mom, MIL and pediatrician all commented on how she's been a tough baby. Now-a-days she's easy going other than she doesn't like to sleep, but I think I'm partially to blame for that one. Anyway, that last part was beside the point. A few weeks ago my MIL just out of the blue kind of laughed and said "God must have given you this baby because he knew you could handle her". I did not know how to respond without making her upset so I just said nothing. But no, biology, genetics and a little help from science gave me this baby. Not some all powerful dude controlling fate/destiny.
QOTW: What do you when/if you're given a religious gift? Use/display it? Stuff it in the closet and bring it out said gift giver is visiting? Throw it out? Donate it? We were given quite a few religious gifts for DD (books, blanket that says jesus loves you). Right now they are in the nursery kind of tucked away but visible enough that if the gift giver came to visit they could find them if they look hard. I'm ready to get rid of them. I think I'll donate what I can. Other than that we aren't normally given religious gifts thankfully.

No encounters this week. Just the way I like it. Lol
& can't say I've really been given any religious gifts for a long time. I say long time because all I can think of is jewelry from my communion. Lol it's in a jewelry box somewhere. They're personalized with my name so I've just held onto them instead of tossing them but yeah, nothing since then I don't think!
AW/Vents/ Encounters this week: One of the families i'm working with are very devout. Even their front door is plastered with prayers.
They are the sweetest family, but their house is a little too overloaded with religious items.
QOTW: What do you when/if you're given a religious gift? Use/display it? Stuff it in the closet and bring it out said gift giver is visiting? Throw it out? Donate it? I haven't received anything recently. I also haven't had any major life events occur recently. I keep family heirlooms for sentimental reasons.
