I also have been spotting a lot. Every time we dtd, after ovulation before af for a few days. Normal? My normal?
It could be your norm. You're TFAS, right? Your body goes through alot of changes after giving birth. Alot of women find that their cycles are completely different after having kids.
Yes TFAS, thanks for the response, I assumed it was ok. I just hate that it's gonna play games while ttc
Everyone is different, so I can't give you a definitive answer on that, but I can't emphasize how important it is to track information like that.
Is this still your first cycle off of bcp, or are currently WTO in your second cycle?
Yes I have kept track on ff. And yes I'm waiting to O in second cycle
Since this is your second cycle, I would keep track and see what happens. Some cycles I get severe ovulation pain, other cycles I don't feel anything at all.
Also completely anecdotal- my first real period off the pill was pretty horrid, but after that it mellowed out, and is even lighter than when I was on the pill.

That's how it goes. Our bodies are straight up assholes. They refuse to follow orders.

This is what I'm thinking is happening, I almost think some of the spotting I get before af is actually my period just really light. I wipe and it's there, dont need a pad, so I kept marking it as spotting.
@wallflwr926 no last cycle I spotted 4 days before af and a day before and after O
Just give it some more time to adjust to being off birth control. I wish I had a better answer for you; but with it only being your second cycle it's hard to say what the issue might be.

No, it's that's just heavy spotting. I used to have a really hard time with spotting so i'm glad I decided to pop in tonight. The best way to determine if it's CD1 is to ask yourself, "Can I get away with just a liner for a few hours?"

That's what I thought, ok good, spotting it was. Like you said only time will tell, my body is getting back on its own since birth control, I'm just reading into everything I guess

Which is totally normal, it happens to everyone. Just keep track of it.
caitost21, most people around me know, especially after a loss earlier this year. I feel like no one talks about this stuff. And while no one needs to (I totally get keeping it private), I've found it personally helpful to be more open. And it's helped me connect with other people in my life, as it's a much more common struggle than I realized.

Hmm, going by the liner test, I only have about one day of actual period per cycle. I really only ever use liners. Issue?
I'm in the very beginning stages of maybe thinking about an RE. I have an annual appt in about 2 weeks with an OB/GYN who also advertises infertility treatment. I would like to find out what services she offers, and then see from there.
H and I had agreed that we would try naturally until my annual appointment and then talk again to see what we want to do. We haven't talked about it yet.
IF the OB has a good plan and will do the appropriate monitoring (like for Clomid, etc...), should still I go to an RE? The closest RE is 45 min away, but it is a man, and I want a woman (which would be probably 1.5 hours from me one way).
Saw RE 1/11/17 HSG x 2 - 2nd revealed both tubes open and arcuate uterus Cycle #1-2 Femara 5mg + TI = Cancelled - poor response Cycle #3 - Femara 7.5mg and Dex 0.5mg - another poor response - waiting to see when I O
Dr. Google has told me that as long as I'm getting a period, the amount of flow doesn't matter. But it's a lot lighter now than before the pill or on the pill. I had terrible periods before, so I'm excited to avoid that if this is healthy. But I just wanted to make sure a change like this wasn't concerning.

I've never had an OB but I feel the difference is in the credentials, monitoring and testing. I would go to your appt and ask lots of questions about their fertility program and see how it goes.
Personally for me, I wanted someone that specialized in infertility. A doctor with current research in the field of IF and was part of a well respected reproductive health unit. I don't think I would find the same qualifications from an OB/GYN.

Random board etiquette question. (Trigger warning, sort of?) I've found I'm not sure about jumping back in to GKU after losses. Do people usually reintro, or just pop back in again, or somewhere in the middle? I don't think I was here long enough the first time to really be recognized so I just felt like an AW shouting, hey, omg, guyz, I'm back, haiiiiii...
irish14 I'm so sorry for your loss! I think most people just jump back in with posting, but others make a separate thread about it. I would do whatever you're comfortable with.

Thanks ugaqueencity! I will definitely find out about their testing and treatment options, post on here for opinions, and then decide which route to go.

I started taking PNV shortly before having my IUD removed because I was out my normal multi-vitamin and figured I might as well just order the PNV then. I've also been temping. I haven't made any real lifestyle changes, though. Oh, unless focusing more on our savings counts?
My good friends and family know that we're trying. I'm really close with my family and we were together for a whole weekend recently so I just casually let them know that we'd made the decision to try. I was very nervous to tell pretty much anyone because we've always been on the fence about having children. My grandmother was the first person to tell me "I knew you'd change your mind" which was annoying.
ETA: I don't think I have any questions of my own right now but I have learned SO much from lurking on this board the past few months so thanks to you all!
speaking of board etiquette, are grads welcome in grad posts only? or can they continue posting regardless of their ute occupancy with a hidden ticker?
So we are 9 months into it and starting to think about next steps. Is there anything we should/can be doing in the next 3 months before we end up at the RE? Can H get SA done ahead of time and does it make any sense to do that sooner than later?
Also, H and I have difference health insurance. Mine is crap, his is good, but me getting on his is not possible. I assume, if we do end up going through treatments, it will go through my insurance, as in we'll be paying out of pocket?

some REs have a pretty hefty wait list. Right now you can simply call a local RE and see what their wait list length is (As in, how far in advance will you need to book), but not leave your name.. That way you know what to expect. However, many OBs work with a certain RE, so you could always ask your OB at your next appt if they work with or partner with a local RE. It's typically frowned upon to go to the RE before 12 months.
As far as the insurance goes, I'm not entirely sure. I know the SA can go on his insurance, but I'm fairly certain that the rest would be on yours. I know my RE was very willing to work with OOP/shitty insurance clients, at my second (or third?) appointment they sat me down with someone from the finance department and helped me figure out a tentative payment schedule.
Thanks. I will research some REs and call around for wait lists. I know that many specialists in the area have ridiculously long wait lists so I wouldn't be surprised if they were months out. I was going to wait out the 3 months before actually seeing someone but just starting to think about that possibility. I don't have an OB, I have been seeing my PCP that is a family medicine doctor. I figured I'd find myself an OB when I got pregnant. Hm.

Your H getting a SA now would be a good place to start, this way if anything comes back abnormal he can start treatments now and hopefully be ready to go by the time you're ready to start treatments. Only thing is my H got a lab order from my dr for his SA, not sure how that would work if you're not already seeing someone
Unfortunately I'm pretty sure all your treatments will go through your insurance, do you know exactly what yours covers? Some cover testing up to diagnosis and some don't cover anything at all. Either way let your doctor know up front, they have some ways of coding things to get them covered. My insurance doesn't cover anything at all, but my dr was able to code most things for my spotting and long periods so most of my testing including my HSG were covered
I was thinking maybe he could start with his PCP and see if he would order the SA...
The summary sheet I have of my plan says "infertility treatment" is excluded from coverage, so I guess it is possible they will cover testing but I also have a high deductible.
