Thanks for the reply. This would be our first medicated cycle. I'm actually not sure why she suggested both. She gave me a lot of information at the meeting and I know she explained what each medication would do, but I was focused on the "try for a few more months on your own" part and probably didn't ask enough questions. I'll be sure to revisit it with her when I call on CD 1.
I wonder if your RE was referring to Femara plus a trigger shot? The hCg trigger is a shot that you would have to inject on your own, but it's not the same thing as injectable meds for inducing follicle growth.
That would actually make a lot more sense for your first medicated cycle, because many/most REs have you do a trigger shot on medicated cycles to insure good timing for TI/IUI.
That's definitely possible. I really should have clarified with her. I'm grateful for this information though - I'll have a better idea of what questions to ask when I speak to her again.

Yes, this would make a lot more sense! My RE doesn't normally do triggers until IUI, but I requested them a few times to help with timing.
Saw RE 1/11/17 HSG x 2 - 2nd revealed both tubes open and arcuate uterus Cycle #1-2 Femara 5mg + TI = Cancelled - poor response Cycle #3 - Femara 7.5mg and Dex 0.5mg - another poor response - waiting to see when I O
Do you guys feel that wondfo's are accurate? Or a good idea. Sometimes I feel like they encourage me to pee on things when I know better.
Also- MH hates preseed lube and I basically have always needed something. His favorite is a Trojan water based. I don't know if there's something better out there that's sperm friendly or go with sex is better than no sex and use the lube he likes.

Yes - you can drink on these medications.
My last trigger shot was done by my drunk self at 1am the Saturday after Thanksgiving. That cycle worked... You have to laugh.

Do you mean Wondfo HPTs or OPKs? I've never been able to get the OPKS to work for me. And actually I've never been able to get the HPTs so work for me either, but that's not their fault. They are just as accurate as any other pink dye pregnancy test. Have you checked out the chart in the newbie blog about DPO and test accuracy? I'm mobile but I'll try to remember to come back and link it later
As far as lube, I really wouldn't recommend using a regular lube while in your FW. Even if it doesn't have spermicide in it, it's still the wrong consistency to make the sperms travel to your egg easy. I know Astroglide makes a TTC friendly lube you can try out, but he might just need to suck it up during your FW then you can switch back after O is confirmed
Yes I meant the Opks and HPTs. I asked if they were accurate because SIL swears they're not. I'm not sure why. I also understand the DPO stuff, but the HPTs are so cheap that I never end up waiting the right amount of time.
I'm currently out so I'm not re ordering until its logical to test.

Wondfo OPK work great for me. I can watch them get darker, then I get a strong positive(almost always on O day for me), then I can track the surge back down. The pregnancy tests have gone either way for me. Some of my pregnancies I got a faint line on a wondfo right away, and others I have gotten a decent line on a dollar store test and still can't turn a wondfo for a few days. However, my very first bfp with my son was on a wondfo. What they are great for however, is being neurotic after you have already confirmed pregnancy and want to pee on all the things. It's much cheaper than blowing through FRER's.
I agree with others that if you need lube you should probably use a TTC friendly one. We have been using pre-seed for years. I use it internally. I have no idea if my husband even notices, lol. I've never asked him. I just know I need it so we use it.

The wondfos seem to work for me, though I like confirming true positive opks with a digital. I got a positive on the hpt with my pregnancy.
For the lube, I've heard good things about coconut oil. We were using preseed, but I didn't love it. I got "yes baby," or whatever it's called, and will try that next.

The Wondfo HPTs are accurate if you are using them at a reasonable DPO. They are actually more sensitive than a lot of the other tests available. Just make sure you are ordering legitimate Wondfos. There is a list of recommended Amazon sellers in the newbie blog.

Awesome! I've used and liked coconut oil. So I'll move onto that instead.
Oh gosh, this thread got long. I can't get the search function to work, so my apologies if this has been discussed. Can someone walk me through a medicated cycle? I'm confused on when I will trigger. I took Femara from CD3-7 (5 days worth). I have a monitoring ultrasound on CD 12. Will they be able to "schedule" my trigger at that point? I know everyone is different, anecdotes are welcome!

Based on your CD12 monitoring, they will either tell you when to trigger or schedule another monitoring appointment if you are not close enough for them to accurately guess when your follicles will be mature.
I did Clomid CD3-7, monitoring CD12, and they called that afternoon to tell me to trigger CD14 at 9:30pm with IUI scheduled CD16 at 9:30am. For reference, my dominant follicle measured 16mm. Since they grow 1-3mm per day, they felt safe asking me to trigger without further monitoring.
I know they measured lining and did bw, but I don't know those numbers.
I know this has been asked several times before but I can't remember the answer...
Does the 12 months of waiting to see an RE include any pregnancies or would you only count 12 months following a loss?
This is late but I have gotten a different response than everyone else posted. My PCP and OB both said that for fertility purposes, the 12 months starts over after each clinical pregnancy. However, my OB encouraged me to come in for basic testing if I did not get pregnant 6-10 months after loss. I came in at about 10 months. I am glad I did, because the testing showed several obvious issues.

Super newb questions here. Is there a hard and fast rule on how long you're supposed to wait to do an OPK after drinking water? I seem to remember waiting 2 hours when I was TTC DD but I don't remember where I got that number from so I'm not sure it's right.

I think it's more about holding urine than drinking. It will depend on the person, but a lot of women here have mentioned having trouble getting the afternoon OPK to show a positive result because of that. For me, I can get a positive even without holding my pee. It's a "see what works for you" type situation.

** trigger warning BFP mentioned** I tried cbd opks for a bit and never got an exact positive, and eventually bought a bag of wondfos on our last cycle trying. It was going to be our last cycle before RE consult, I managed to get a positive OPK (watched them fade in to positive daily, then drop off immediately), and then my squinty squinter at 10 Dpo, which was confirmed with blood draw 11dpo. Betas were only 39 the day after, so my guess is in the 20s at the squinter.
I also never experienced a shadow on a bfn with them like I did with frer curved handle
Thanks! I'm trying to figure out what is happening this cycle. I missed 3 days of temping which of course makes a huge difference in my O date. It's not a big deal bc we're still TTA but I want to know when to expect AF. Without those 3 temps my chart look like this:
But that coverline is much lower than normal. If I put dummy temps in for those 3 days it makes a huge difference by my CL is normally in the 97.7-97.9 range so I think this might be right.
I just went and checked my charts for curiosity. Mine ranged from 96.8 to 98.0 over spam of two years, but was more steady the last year. Probably because I switched to vaginally though.
Sorry for the anecdote, but I was intrigued by the question
I've been thinking of switching too. My charts are always so rocky.
And ladytiffany24 no other secondary symptoms. Definitely planning to do more next cycle bc this is frustrating. I can only imagine how frustrated I'd be if I was TTC thus cycle.
