I just booked flights to go to San Francisco in October while DH is there on a business trip. Now I have to decide if I'm going to take LO. I would like the time away but really don't want to deal with pumping and traveling with breast milk. It's almost easier just to bring him. Decisions.
I am so nervous already for LO to go to daycare. They can't swaddle him for naps, but I've tried putting him down unswaddled and he gets all frustrated and then sleeps for maybe 20 min. I don't want the transition to be so hard on him
They can't swaddle due to some kind of regulation, or what? Not even arms-out swaddling?

Yep it's part of their policy. They don't allow swaddling at all.
That sucks. The only way DS can sleep for more than a few minutes when not swaddled is in the swing or me holding him. Otherwise he startles himself awake!

I'm interviewing potential daycare on Saturday ..Fingers crossed we like them, they are pretty much our only option for evening care. In other news I booked a weekend at hampton beach next month. ..in need of a mini getaway. We will have LO so hopefully I goes well. Guess I better buy a beach tent for some shade.
DS is napping in his crib for the first time ever! Only bad thing is we got him down for this "nap" really late, like 5:45pm. So it's almost more of bedtime? I dunno, we'll see how long he stays asleep.
renbee, I got down for late nap. I am little scarred for tonight but he was so cranky he needed it. I am hoping I it goes well for both of us. Are you planning to transition S to the crib soon?

It didn't end up lasting long, maybe 45 minutes. So we got up and took a walk and bathed him and now we are trying to put him down. I think I am going to continue to try naps in his crib and see how it goes. I hope to transition him fully when I go back to work in 5 weeks.

My baby is so grouchy!!
I'm really hoping it's just that whole 4-6 week Purple crying peak but my gosh, where did my chilled little dude go?!
In other news, apparently he LOVES tummy sleeping. Got our longest day sleep for the last week or so today, on his tummy on the floor, after an apparently exhausting 2 minute tummy time.
Does anyone here have the Fisher Price Sit Me Up? I thought I heard someone talk about it. They didn't have it when my daughter was young and i hated the bumbo. Is this better? Our bouncer is nice but it's pretty reclined. I'm wondering if he'd enjoy being more upright.
We do. I put R in it for the first time earlier this week now that his head control is better. He loves looking around and watching his brother play and S loves running over and giving him kisses since he's now on his level. We had the bumbo last time which was ok but a lot of other moms on my BMB had this and raved about it so I bought it this time around. It's only been a few days but so far I'm a fan.

I work for a daycare and it's state law that you can't swaddle or have anything In the crib (no blankets) until 1 yrs old ... However we can use swaddlers because it's considered to be like "clothing" you should ask if they will use those
I got up, showered, got my makeup on and ready to go for the day and DH decided to take S for a long walk so I can sleep more. Darn me and my being a morning person! Now I can't sleep because I am paranoid I will 1) get makeup all over my freshly washed sheets and 2) look a hot mess at the pediatricians. Every time we've gone there I end up crying. This one time I had planned to look like I'm not crazy!
Ds keeps spitting up and it comes out his nose and He starts to gag on it. He did it the first few weeks but then stopped but the last few days it's happened a few times .... It totally freaks me out. Anyone else have this happen?

It had been happening recently and our pediatrician said it can happen if there is some nasal congestion. He said S had a little congestion that probably caused it. He didn't seem concerned about it at all. Hope it stops altogether soon!

Additional baby nail question - my son's nails get dirt underneath them (not sure how??) And I'm not sure how to get them clean. Is there a tool for this?
The power has been out for nearly 3 hours. I'm starting to panic about my frozen breast milk because it doesn't seem like they can fix it anytime soon.

Same! How does that even happen?! They seem to clean out when he takes a bath. Could maybe try a toothbrush with soft bristles?

There is mysterious dirt under my babe's nails, too! I've actually been cutting them with baby clippers. I can't stand using files.

Haha ok I'm glad I'm not the only one! I have been so perplexed like what are you even doing to get dirt under there?!

I haven't noticed dirt under the nails but I hate the fuzz that gathers between his toes and fingers! He keeps his hands clenched that I will find fuzz there too. I don't know why it bothers so much.
Yes I hate this too! I'm always trying to get his fists unclenched to get the fuzz out!
