I am a cliche haggard new mom. Exhausted, And DS just puked on me, and I'm too tired and lazy to change my shirt. I can't sleep topless in case I leak.
I actually sleep topless (towel underneath) because I am still leaking like crazy but don't want to wear a tank / bra and pads 24/7 since I'm worried about clogged ducts and I want to let my nipples dry a bit. I was actually going to ask what people do at night because I feel like dripping milk all over the floor when I get up to do a diaper change is such a FTM mistake.
H was born with a birth mark on the back of his leg that matches DH's birth mark. M was born with a skin tag on his chest that I noticed right away, but it is gone now.
DS2 didn't have any real distinctive marks, just that he looked identical to DS1 and DD- their baby pics make them look like triplets. There was no mistaking he was ours.
DS1 didn't potty train until after his third birthday. I kept bringing it up and he was never interested at all. Finally one day instead of asking IF he was ready I just said "pick out which potty you want" and "do you want paw patrol or airplanes underwear" he got excited to pick and took to it in a weekend. His body was ready even if his mind wasn't. Don't worry if they're "too old", in my experience it's easier on mom if and you don't push it before they're ready.
He still gets freaked out about auto-flushing toilets but he's still good about telling me when he needs to go. I agree though, that's the only time I miss diapers. It's also a perk of having a boy- I make him stand in public places unless he has to poop.
I stink. Literally. I don't know if it's breastfeeding specifically or just hormones/body chemistry adjusting to postpartum, I remember it with each kid, I just don't remember when it goes away. I smell *different* down there, and I have BO, not even just contained to my armpits - it's like I need to rub deodorant all the way down the inside of my arms down to my elbow. I'm sure sometimes it's due to not showering, night sweats, etc, but I took a shower right before bed and this morning I lift my arm and I STINK again already. So gross. Tell me I'm not the only one.

okiemama Pretty sure it's hormonal. I definitely have smells I don't normally have postpartum. With that and the constant smell of sour milk I'm feeling pretty hot right now ; )

You are absolutely not the only one. I am so stinky these days - everywhere! I hate it!
My LO suddenly keeps getting his arms out of all our swaddle wraps! The A + A muslin wrap used to work, but he broke out twice last night.
I just posted something similar in the other thread. Have you tried a double swaddle / Houdini swaddle with the A + A? I haven't yet just because it's so hot here. I will though if the SwaddleMes fail me.

Meijer grocery trip this afternoon. Baby in the Moby asleep, 3yo in front of cart, 5yo in back of cart, two boys walking beside me. I got:
2 - "you sure have your hands full!!" 1 - "are they all yours?" 2 - "what a beautiful family!" 1 - "is that a baby in there?" 1 - request for ages 1 - "are you done having kids?"
But the lady behind me, the lady in front of me, and the cashier all commented on well-behaved they were (and they were today - like angels - not sure what possessed them).
I feel like a walking freak show sometimes. People stare. It's kind of embarassing.
okiemama I smell too. Even after I've just taken a shower, I smell different/stronger down there (I also did all through pregnancy). And my boobs always smell like sour milk.
creepyeyeball I only have 3 and I officially can't leave the house with them by myself anymore without hearing "you have your hands full" at least once. Went to a restaurant and got the "are they all yours" earlier this week.

I smelled gross down there during pregnancy. It was so gross. And my urine smelled different. Now that smell is gone but I always smell like milk and sweat now.
creepyeyeball it amazes me what strangers will say. I'm glad you got some positive comments, though! And how awesome that you can run errands with everyone!
buttercup I am a teacher so I still have a lot of summer left, but I went to a two day workshop this week and S went to my mom's. It was great! So nice to get back into work. And I think S had a great time. He slept 5 hours straight last night! First time ever!

I hope you enjoy your last week on leave!
I am actually pretty excited. I mentioned it to H earlier and he told me to enjoy the time, but I finally told him today that I was done. I have good memories but need a change. I am scared of the stress of work. I wish I had a job that would be good to go back to. They had a huge software implementation right after I left and things are still really bad.
Yikes. Hopefully it's not too stressful for you when you are transitioning back into the swing of things!
So my throat is dry and I have one nostril that feels like it wants to clog up. I am not happy about this. I am cursing H for bringing this into our house! S went to the doctor bc his congestion isn't going away after a week. She gave us amoxicillin. I am hoping his congestion goes away soon. At least he has been sleeping okay.
Soooo DD is 8 weeks as of yesterday and today, she popped her first TOOTH! Seriously!! She's been super drooly and has been sucking on her bottom lip the last few days but I told myself there was no way she was teething, but I was wrong! What two month old gets a tooth?!?

Teeth are the weirdest baby thing. Normal is anything. Seriously, birth to thirteen months is the developmental window for the first. With 7 being average.
DNW a baby born with teeth
My oldest didn't get his first tooth until he was 13 months. It was crazy. The rest of mine have all been between 7-9 months.
Going to the outlets. It will be our longest baby outing. I am boh scared and excited. Dh also hates shopping but desperately needs clothes. Hopefully he isn't too cranky.
DD was born with a natal tooth so I should have known she'd get teeth early, but I was thinking like 4 months! Not 2! Poor kid hasn't even mastered chewing on things yet...I keep letting her chew on my finger!

WHAT THE HELL!! I just went to the bathroom, and there was some blood on the tp. I'm not ready to start my period again! I know it isn't a guarantee, but I thought a perk to BF was no period for a while. Wahhhh not fair!
