We are taking lo on his first camping trip this weekend! I'm excited and slightly terrified. Lo loves being outside, so the only part I'm worried about is nap/bedtime. That will be probably be a shitshow, but hey- with super low expectations, maybe I'll be surprised! We're supposed to get storms tonight and maybe tomorrow too (of course) so keep your fx the weather cooperates! Thankfully the campground is right by our house (literally a 10 minute drive) so if things get really bad we can get home quickly. Now off to go frantically pack! Happy Friday ladies. Hot coffee and happy toddlers for everyone! And doughnuts. This was a rough week for a lot of mamas on our board, so I think doughnuts are needed.
ashlantic, hope you have an amazing weekend and that the weather holds out!
I'm home from work today, studying for the bar exam (end of July). Joy of joys.
I worked from home yesterday because I had client meetings locally in the middle of the day. When LO got home from daycare with his sitter, I was upstairs, but I guess he saw my purse on the coffee table, pointed at it, and then started walking around the downstairs looking for me. When he didn't find me, he apparently went straight to the bottom of the stairs and pointed up. At that point I came down, but when the sitter told me this story, I was amazed. I can't believe how much our babies are growing up, to the point where they can have this kind of deductive reasoning and even do a process of elimination. It's really cool!
So glad it's Friday. My SIL is visiting this weekend, hope it goes smoothly since she and DH don't always get along. It will be easier now that we have two bedrooms, planning to move Ch's crib to our room and give Ch's room to SIL for the weekend. Ch loves face timing with her and will pick up my phone and ask for Titi so I'm sure she will enjoy it.
It's beautiful weather here and that pic from DC made my day, so I'm in a good mood have a lot of work to do today but I'll power through. Hope everyone has a splendid day.
dashook what a smart boy! Ch has been amazing me with her developing reasoning and vocab. The most shocking thing was last night, after her bath and jammies, she goes "MOM. C'MON." And gestures with both hands. I was like omg you did not!!! I followed her and she runs to the couch, climbs up, hands me the remote, and says "Elmo". Wow wow wow. Bratty bebe. But of course we had to watch one Elmo song after that. ashlantic good luck camping! It sounds like a challenge hopefully your little chunk goes down without a fight. Super smart to do the first try close to home. Have fun!

ashlantic, let me know how it goes. We've talked about going camping with the kids, but I have no idea how we'd manage the sleeping arrangements. AF just showed up. So check for BCP actually getting my cycle back on track. Now to see if it helped to regulate the cramps/flow/duration. Slight headache from dehydration after drinking three margaritas last night. Tequila can sure pack a whallop!

We got the kitten yesterday! We named her Rogue since she has a white spot on her neck. Our dog is very interested in her and we are working on B being gentle with her.

We had our first Earthquake last night so that was super fun. Totally not a big deal but my mom called me freaking out this morning to see if we were okay.
Back to work today after having 4 days off! My aunt is coming into town tonight and my mom is having a BBQ tomorrow at her house, I have to work until 3 so hubby will take LO over... DH just called and said he is on his way home and he is going to convert LO's crib to a toddler bed....anyone else done this yet? I have been putting it off but LO is getting his left leg hiked over the railing and I have watched him climb onto his changing table (connected to the crib)...plus he has been sleeping with us/fighting his crib at night for the past month....he will sleep in his crib during the day for naps but when it comes to bed time he isn't having it... I will put him in there every night and he will cry and scream for 10-15 minutes...so we thought what is it going to hurt...momma is not ready for this.... I have a bridal shower to go to for my cousin on Sunday and I still have not got her a gift! Might just give her a target gift card or just cash!

Dude, at 13 wks I had my first experience of real morning sickness. I felt nauseous all morning long, but hungry, so I thought I just need to eat. Took a few bites of lunch and lost it. I didn't make it to the bathroom but luckily made it to the kitchen sink. Gross. And I still so hungry! How unfair. I don't dare eat a thing, kind of scared to even drink my water. I am not going to last at work much longer like this.

Last night I had my own special moment with Leo. DH came in to tell me he was going to take a shower and Leo responded to him. It sounded like a couple of sentences, and I even caught a word here and there. I was so excited. I turned to him and tried to get him to talk some more...but all I got was "hmmm" over and over. Oh, well.

littlelion That sounds terrible! Cheerios were the only things I could eat when I felt like that. It was the worst! babyw15 How low is your LO's crib? We haven't converted to toddler but we're definitely on the lowest setting. ourcrazynavylife Earthquakes suck! We get them pretty frequently (yay fracking!) but they're never too bad. Glad it wasn't a big one. BabyStandish LOVE the kitten! LO is obsessed with our cats because they withhold their affection so much more than our dog. We have worked on "pat pat pat the kitty" since he was big enough to be interested in them, and he still gets a little over enthusiastic sometimes. shannjohnston Damn that tequila. Margaritas are my down fall. Every. Single. Time. bkmama0 Have fun with your SIL this weekend! dashook Sorry you're bar studying. Are you doing barbri? I still remember some of those awful video lectures... ashlantic Have fun camping and hope the weather isn't crappy!

We're having a good time on our trip! We did a Segway tour today and are going to a dinner for all the wedding guests tonight. Tomorrow is the actual wedding so I'm hoping it doesn't rain. It's been a straight up tropical sauna here today and my $3 poncho was a life saver when it started pouring out of nowhere. Got a text from MIL of LO riding a carousel at the mall during what should have been his morning nap... But I'm not there so if he's cranky that's her problem. Why ask for a detailed schedule if you aren't going to follow it?
laceysbryan glad you guys are having a good trip so far! My mom pulks the same shit with ignoring LO's schedule when I leave him with her. Whatever, cranky baby is not your problem like you said!
Re: the bar, I'm not doing BarBri or any other course this time, just studying from books, practice problems and essays, etc., though I guess one if my books of subject outlines is by BarBri. I don't think I could tolerate sitting through those lectues ever again!
