My weekend that I was looking forward to started with him having an explosive poop in his carseat on the way home from daycare. It seems like everything I look forward to literally turns to shit.
Good news is I left him unswaddled last night and he only had two wake ups! Maybe having free arms (that I think he kept over his head all night- FREEDOM!) and not fighting with the swaddle helped.
I'm thinking of putting him in his crib on his belly. He can roll front to back and he does not sleep lying flat on his back.
H leaves this morning and I'm hoping for a relaxing weekend. The beginning (poop explosion) has me a little wary.

silverspoon, I hope the poop is now done with! And yay for a smooth no-swaddle transition!
We also stopped swaddling DD3 a few nights ago. First I left one arm out, and when she had no issues with that I didn't swaddle her but had it in the crib just in case I wanted to swaddle her in the MOTN, but it was fine. No more (or less) wake-ups than usual. However, the guest room is already borderline too hot to sleep in (4th floor, south side, and the whole south "wall" is the poorly insulated roof). We're now trying to figure out what we're going to do if it warms up here for more than a couple of days in a row. She wakes up too often to be in her own room - I can't be getting out of bed 10+ times / night to give her a few sips from her bottle. We did that with DD2 and about died.
silverspoon woot!! Hope he keeps it up and hope you have a good weekend without your H
I hate to write it down but DS slept great last night in the crib after our disaster of a night the previous night. Keeping everything crossed it continues!
Heading to IL's beach house for the weekend. Cheers to free childcare, dinners I don't have to cook, and wine I don't have to buy!

Lsquared Yay for good thing that shall not be named! It's like if you say it to much it goes away...
crimsonandclover he's also still in our room because of the frequent wake ups. Everyone tells me to move him, but if I'm going to have to get up that often I'd rather not have to go all the way to his room.

I probably had the worst night of sleep like ever. It wasn't all DDs fault though. I got up when H got home from work to rail on his mother. He has no clue why she is being so douchey. We are moving on. But then DD woke up and stayed up. And pooped twice. I think she finally fell back to sleep about 2 and then was up again at 5 and yes, pooped again!! I'm not sure what time she finally fell asleep after that but we are up now at 7. Coffee is coming! Baptism class this morning and lots of laundry today.
silverspoon, crimsonandclover, LO is still in my room too and people also tell me to move him out. But same thing, I don't want to walk down the hall a few times during the night.
We have a weekend full of play dates and parties. Two play dates and an open house today, a picnic and a play date tomorrow. It's also supposed to be blazing hot and 3 of these events are outside. I hope we survive!

silverspoon yay for no swaddle. We finally did that a few weeks ago. Have had to swaddle twice since just to calm her down but it's not too bad. silverspooncrimsonandclover she is still in my room as well. Sadly the crib is still not set up. The nursery still isn't ready. 1 wall is painted that is all. Maybe DH will set up the crib in my room. Last night DD2 refused to sleep in her bed at all. She would only sleep in my bed next to me. So tired. I can sleep but I don't sleep well.

Our nursery is pretty tiny (only about 4ft across and maybe 8 or 9ft long?), but I think we're going to try to put a mattress in there and then adjust the crib so that we can still reach her while we're laying on the mattress. We probably won't be able to get the door open with the mattress on the floor, but in the morning we can prop the mattress up on the wall on its side so we can open the door. Hm, except then it will be blocking the dresser where DD3's clothes are... Oh well, we'll figure out something or else we'll do some serious sleep training.

Woo hoo! Beach weekend!
We are headed to a beach house today, too. I kind of wish my ILs were going to be there for all the same reasons! I'd still have to bring my own wine, though. MIL is a Michelob Ultra drinker, and FIL likes cheap beer or absolut vodka. Nope nope nope!
Looking forward to the weekend. Just hanging at home today and visiting a new squish tomorrow. We will see if I get baby fever. Ha. We do plan to wait until dd is 12-18 months to try but i think my baby fever never really went away
I saw a one month old baby last weekend and I immediately said, oh I miss having such a cute little one. Mine seemed so old in comparison. Our plan is to wait 15-18 months too though...I think I'd prefer not to have 2u2, although many of the ladies here do it well!

It's a challenge, but I love how they now (ages 3 and 5) are able to play a lot of the same things. DD2 can't do everything as well, yet, but she's way ahead of where DD1 was when she was 3, and I think a lot of that is because they're very close in age and DD2 sees DD1 doing things and tries, too!

NellieOleson I do that too. They were all in Minnie Mouse one day, tie dye later the same week and they love it when I put them all in similar dresses...ffsc

tinydancer and kelltothekell I need to make sure our finances are in order and figure out our housing /car situation and I'm game for one more sooner than later. Initially after dd I had said we'd be waiting a loooong time, but now I'm like "bring on the baby!"

I found out tonight that our new neighbors, who are super social and generally fun to be around, don't drink. Like at all. They don't seem against it, but in way more hummed than I should be that I don't have a wine buddy. :/ serious fwp here.

S/o cribs and sleep... Are you putting anything in the crib with your baby? I never have, but dd3 has been looping her arm through her crib slats (no bumpers at all) and holding the bottom edge of her sheet. She wakes up stuck in the slats obviously so tonight I tossed in a lovey blanket with a stuffed animal attached. It's like ten inches with a horse head in the middle. She's snuggled up with if so I think she likes it.

I'm pushing DH to finally get the crib put together in my room. DD2 refused to nap in her bed again today and is fighting bed in her bed tonight. I don't want to do another night in my bed. I love the snuggles but don't sleep well because I worry. dizzycooks we have the breathable bumpers for the crib. With DD1 we always had a light blanket over her in the crib. I personally need a blanket, the weight of something, and I know DD1 has gotten that. DD2 needed one today at nap in my bed.

This is why I do heavy sleep sacks even in the summer. I like the weight and I think it provides comfort and a sign that it's bedtime.
H and I are watching The 4400. The kids and I spent most of the day at my mom's, so H could relax with his ice packs. He's sore, understandably. Hopefully M sleeps as well as she did last night. She got up 3 times, but I think the third was just because she wasn't ready to go back down after the second time. And then she was up for the day at 8. I should probably take a sleeping pill, but I don't really want to make H get up with the baby.

I have two lovies for her. she rejects both at sleep time. She was holding one when I put her down yesterday and actually pushed it away from herself before conking out completely. Pacifiers are also out. So I guess that's it. she does sleep with an A/A blanket that she kind of clutches sometimes.

We have breathable bumpers - it keeps pacis from falling out (as much) in the night. And I have to admit we do use a blanket - knitted by me. We used it while she was swaddled because our sleep sacks have arms (or are sleeveless but have arm holes) and I felt uncomfortable putting her in it with her arms down by her sides because they were a bit big for her and could have covered her face. We put the blanket just up to her waist. Now that she's unswaddled, we're switching to sleep sacks, so the blanket won't be in there anymore.
Well, yesterday ended in the loudest overtired crying we've ever had, but he nursed and went right to sleep.
We don't put anything in the crib except sometimes he naps with a wubanub and holds onto the little animal. I have some of the A&A musy squares that he likes to hold onto in the carseat...maybe he would like sleeping with one of those.
Omg, much respect to the ladies already thinking about another baby. I do miss the tiny new squishy snuggles, but I can't even imagine. H is fixed now, so it doesn't matter, but still. Also, dizzycooks, your comment reminded me of what Jim Gaffigan said about having a fourth: imagine you're drowning, and then someone hands you a baby. ;-) I'm joking, but it made me giggle.
K has been fighting naps like woah. She's back to only napping for any real length of she's being held. We were planning on doing the crib transition right when school ended, but H pointed out that it makes sense to wait until after his family leaves on Friday. So, come on RNP, one more week!
Also, I finally feel like getting some action again. Predictably, H suddenly has been hit with a large variety of ailments: stomachache, backaches, etc. I'm about to start my period, so I predict that he will begin feeling better for about a week very soon. I really enjoyed that time period where I had no drive, because it's hard being the partner with the more active libido, and it looks like we're headed that way again.
My kid is spazzing in her swing. She is eating her onesie, staring at the toucan hanging over her and wildly flailing with the biggest grin on her face. I am just waiting for her to lunge for the toucan. She has been up and ready to party since 5. She is speed rolling now. And did about a step of crawl in bed yesterday. Then she just slid herself the rest of the way on her chin/chest. Hehe Hubs and I both have too much work and not enough time. We are overtired and cranky with one another. I hate when we are cranky, but sometimes he is such a douche!
silverspoon, crimsonandclover, LO is still in my room too and people also tell me to move him out. But same thing, I don't want to walk down the hall a few times during the night.
I would still keep DD2 in our room but she has outgrown the bassinet. Why do people feel so entitled? I would be pissed if someone told me where my baby should sleep.
