The smalls (and most of the time mediums) have too much crust and not enough pizza surface. Plus then we each have leftovers of the toppings we want and it covers us for lunch for a day or two following.

Yes, they do.

Of the burger fast food options in our area (McDonald's, Burger King and Wendy's), if I'm forced to choose I'd choose Wendy's every time.

For fast food I choose in and out burger when in the states. But I think that's only on the west coast

I am sure that I did not. It was more than ten years ago though.

Animal style means they grill the onions and add extra sauce. I've had bad in and out a few times and it's so disappointing

You are not alone. I do not get the love for In n Out. It's an overcooked fast food burger and undercooked soggy fries (or burnt if you order "well done" since they only seem to do extremes.)
