XP in a few places
Finally! Monday night at 11:37 Pho.ebe Ly.nn was born via c-section. She weighed in at a whopping 10 lbs 9 oz. The c-section was deemed necessary after the BPP u/s deemed her at around 11 lbs. She was at 40+3 weeks. After the u/s I was pretty much freaking out while waiting for the doc to meet with us. I was worried they'd let me choose induction or section and didn't know what to do. Luckily no choice- he said induction wasn't really safe at that size so section it was.
I was half terrified and half relieved to not have to experience labor. But having never had surgery before also anxious about that. I'm glad it was "we are doing this tonight" versus "stat" or "sleep on it and come in tomorrow." I was shaking pretty bad during the whole thing and for a while after so I didn't hold her for almost an hour. They brought her to me in the OR to snuggle cheek to cheek and she calmed right down when she heard me- it was so sweet. Back in recovery I did some skin to skin and she nursed for a while. Ouch. It's really hard to get positioned to nurse with c-section pain. It's gotten better since that first time using the football hold through.
She is so squishy and chubby and scrunched up. I have no idea how she fit in my belly. I didn't gain "too much" weight and my measurements were always in range. It's gotten a little annoying that new nurses exclaim she is the "big baby" on the floor and that's all everyone says. Well that and she's adorable. Don't get me wrong- her rolls and chins are adorable- but we are already realizing we can't focus on them as much as we have been. Plus she will likely even out over time.
I'm so so relieved and happy she is finally here safe and sound. Recovery is going okay and bf is so-so this far.
Now for the notable chins! (PDQ)
