gooselover2012 I don't think L was measured correctly at birth either. He measured 2 inches longer at his 1 week appt!
Yeah I don't think my LO grew 3 inches in 2 weeks
At our one week, the nurse explained that babies don't stretch well at birth because they do their best to keep curled in the fetal position like in the womb. Therefore most babies are longer at birth than the actual stat they give you. Otherwise DS shows he grew 1.5 inches in the week after birth.
This may sound silly, but I find myself jealous of women who have babies in the 6-7.5 lb range. I'm so small, only 4'11" and 118 lbs pre-pregnancy. I don't know how I ended up with a baby more than 8.5 lbs. I feel like I missed out on the tiny baby stage. I met with a friend today whose baby is a month old, and is the same size now as when DS was born. Like I said, sounds silly, but I'm jealous.
jags8 I fee the same way. 9lb 4oz here, my others were 9.2 and 8.12 - I've had 3 babies and still feel like I've never had a "newborn" they come out like 3 month olds.
DS1 was 8lbs 11oz and DS2 was born 2 weeks earlier and was 9lbs. I really thought I would have a smaller baby this time and bought nb clothes he never got to wear. I do sometimes feel like I missed the little baby stage. He is outgrowing his 6 month clothes already.

DD1 was 9 lb 3 oz at birth and 22 in. DD2 was 6 lb 8 oz and 19.25 in. I've gotten to experience the huge newborn and the small newborn. Don't have a preference except the small baby was MUCH easier to push out!

We just had our two month appointment yesterday!
Birth: 9lbs 10oz, 21" 1 month: 10lbs 4oz, 22" 2 months: 13lbs 4oz, 23" (may be longer but he kept curling his legs up and the nurse gave up...)
We're still squeezing into our 0-3 month clothes, but my mom took me to Carter's yesterday and went on a shopping spree. We've got tons of 3-6 clothes now, freshly washed and waiting in the wings!

Birth: 9lbs 4oz, 20.5" [no 1 month appointment...is that weird? I am pretty positive my others did- same Dr.] 2 Months: 11lbs 12oz, 24.25"
My little string bean- 30th percentile weight, 90th height. They want to see him in a month for a weight check, makes me frustrated they weren't tracking his growth at a month old too...idk if it was a clerical/scheduling error or what. We were seen at 4 days and not again until 2 months today.

Our pediatrician doesn't always do 1-month appointments, but she gave us the option because our little guy was having trouble gaining weight and we had been in for a weight check already. We took her up on it just to make sure he was still gaining, but I think usually they just do a one week appointment and a two week appointment and then wait until they are 2 months to see them again. I'm sorry they didn't have you in sooner--I'd be frustrated too
