My 2 favorite spots: Seattle and key west. Both places are so beautiful in very different ways. We have been to Seattle once and key west 3 times. All trips were pre kids. Who knows when we will go back to ether place. One can dream right?!
Best ever was New Zealand. It has all the things I like plus accents. Cape Town SA and south was also so cool because the wildness of it is beautiful and exhilarating. Marathon key is my current favorite because we are making memories as a new family. Austria (which was a place I lived not a vacay) is on the someday list. Nearby are the sleeping bear dunes and picture rocks. Two amazing places we love to visit.

Ireland is beautiful. If you haven't been, go. Greek islands were probably my favourite vacation. I went a few years back and it was amazing. H and my fav spot to go which is fun and reasonably priced is Jamaica

Well....I just love to travel and I make it a priority (i.e. I do lots of things to make it easy and inexpensive for us to travel on the regular). I love exploring new places. A couple very memorable trips are going to Paris and London with my Mom and sister (pre kids) and scuba diving trips with my husband. My favorite was probably Belize but there are so many places I want to go diving (Fiji, Great Barrier Reef). I hope our kids will dive with us when they are old enough.
Right now with kids we are making annual trips to Hawaii. It's easy and fun with kids and I get my beach/ocean fix in.
Once DD is bigger I want to take them to Europe. Ireland and Germany are at the top of the list since I haven't been to either yet.
The closest I've come to a vacation is going back home to visit family. The farthest I've been from Canada is a small town about 10 minutes from the border for grocery shopping
I want to go everywhere. Europe, somewhere tropical, on a cruise. It won't happen any time soon.

My best adult vacation was a trip to Spain with DH 2 years before DD1 was born. It involved lots of relaxing on the beach and in the hotel room with a bit of sangria and sight-seeing mixed in.
There isn't currently a lot on my bucket list in terms of locations. Rome and Ireland, but there's nowhere else I feel a burning desire to see.

My wannabe vacation right now is some sandals type vacation mixed with sight seeing. DH refuses to go to Mexico ever again. He had a bad experience. We did visit Santa Monica a few years back and that was a blast. DD1 was just old enough to enjoy the water but wouldn't go to far. It was the second time in my life I saw the ocean so I was in it as much as I could. The shopping and walking around was soo much fun. I wish we could have had more of a plan for sight seeing. I would have liked to drive through Calabasas (yes I watch the Kardashians) just for fun. Would have loved to see the Hollywood sign better. But we still had soo much fun.

After a weekend trip to the beach with two tiny kiddos, I want to say my favorite vacation is not taking one at all! Damn it's tiring dealing with kids off their regular routines, tired from activities, and sleeping in strange places. I'm sure it will be fun again as they get older, but jeez Louise it's way more work than hanging out at home.
I have done a ton of traveling and love it, though. Nicaragua was awesome, as was St. Lucia and Dominica. I have been to Paris a few times for several weeks at a time, and that was super fun.
Now it seems like when we do get a chance to travel we go places to visit people. I used to live in Los Angeles, so I like to go there to see friends and be "home" again. We go to Minnesota every year to visit my ILs. We also like to go on a lot of shorter weekend trips in Oregon and Washington since it's easy, close, and beautiful.
We are thinking about a trip to NYC followed by Martinique this winter, but every time I think of it I get exhausted and overwhelmed by all the details. We'll see.
I'd love to go to Hawaii or somewhere easy with other family along so we would have some help with the girls.

With this thread as inspiration, I asked my mom if she feels like spending her 70th bday (next April) in Rome and/or Venice. Last year when she came we met up in Paris for a few days before she came back home with me and stayed for 2 weeks. Since my dad died she doesn't really have anyone to travel with, so I figure why not cross Rome off my bucket list and have her see it, too! I've been to Venice before, but that was over 15 years ago, so I could use a little refresher
My favorites are Colorado (we got married there as a "destination" wedding) and New England. H and I had a great trip to NYC and did it all--ice skating at Rockefeller center, saw Rent, walked everywhere, etc.
On another trip, we started in Boston (I looooooove history and could spend a summer touring Boston ) and then took day trips to Lexington and Concord (Louisa May Alcott's house!), Salem and Marblehead, and Maine. I'd love to do that again.
For our ten year anniversary, fil will pay hotel anywhere we want. H wants to go to Italy and I think I'm down for that.
Have been and wouldn't mind going back: 3. Belize 4. Hawaii 5. Colorado (sno skiing) 6. Florida (beach trips) 7. New Mexico 8. Las Vegas There's more I just can't remember.
My favorite so far has been Belize for our Honeymoon.
I love LOVE the Caribbean! I cannot wait until the kids are old enough to stay in the resort camp while DH and I relax by the pool and/or go on an excursion! But that is a long way off ... le sigh! I also think that we will do Disney cruises in the future - your kids have to be three and potty trained to attend the day camp on the ship but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel!
I go to Brussels for work twice a year, and DH usually flies over to meet me and we go somewhere for the weekend. This fall It think we'll pop over to London for the weekend - and see if they are still part of the EU at that point
With DD. So we don't want too long of a flight or drive. I'm thinking something with a mix of nature and city. Maybe Seattle/ Vancouver or somewhere in Cali. I really have no idea! It's a different ballgame thinking about taking a kiddo on vacation!
Honestly, you cannot beat the Pacific Northwest in the summer. It's amazing! If you did Seattle you can still do a little beach time (water is just cold). There is a neat little aquarium on the waterfront and easy hikes you could do with DD in an ergo or stroller.
San Diego might be another great option where the water is a little warmer if you are looking for beach. Coronado Island has great beaches and a cute walkable town.
