I have always worn the bikini. The more teeny in general the more better. This is not a thing right now. :/ This baby was not kind to my body. I have saggy skin and unbelievable stretch marks. While I am totally comfortable whipping out a boob in public I don't want to show off my new stomach to my friends and fam. I know I shouldn't care but I do. The summer is finally happening here and I need suggestions! Also if you just continue on with the bikini and damn everyone else would love to hear that too. Maybe I will just say chuck it in the f)&@ bucket and keep on.
The high rise bottom are cute and sexy in a retro way.
I need to buy a swimsuit ASAP. At first I thought I'd go with a tankini, but it just feels too matronly for me right now. I haven't worn a one piece since 8th grade, so that feels weird to me too. There are some attractive ones out there, but I'm so tall (almost 5' 10") I think I'd have a hard time finding one that fits right anyway.
Sooooo. I think I'm going with a regular bikini. I don't have any stretch marks - which in itself is a miracle. My mom got horrible ones when she was pregnant and I have them on my boobs and hips from puberty. I always assumed I would get them. However, my belly is still a bit soft and a little poochy and I pretty much expect it to stay that way.
I'm wicked old, too, so sometimes I worry that I'm past the age I can pull it off, but other times IDGAF.

Yeah I thought about the tankini too but I feel like it will just ride up and look silly. And at that point I might as well go whole hog. Same with the high waisted bottoms. I feel like at that point I should just do the full deal. Also I think they will make my ass look huge and that is my best asset to distract from the rest. I am not tall but very long in the torso so of the cute one pieces I have tried so far they all were pulling on my shoulders and giving me a wedge. Not cute in your mid 30s... Or ever. Maybe I should embrace that though and find a one piece thong... Or not!

I'm pretty sure J Crew has long torso options in some of their one pieces. I haven't tried them on, but I think they do free shipping on swimwear, so it might be worth a shot. Get one with a skimpy butt and plunging neckline! Sexy mama!
This is where I need a thumbs up emoji and a sunglasses emoji.
I have a less-matronly tankini I wore the summer DS was born and the next summer when I was PG with DD. I've almost always worn one pieces because I was self conscious when I shouldn't have been (things to go back and tell my younger self). I'm thinking of going bikini shopping because why the hell not? I've got stretch marks, and a fugly belly button, but I've also got curves and two adorable babies so it balances out in my mind. I'm way more about being comfortable in my own skin these days. Do what feels good to you.
I'll see if I can dig up a picture of the tankini and post to fb.

I plan to continue to rock my bikinis. I can't be bothered to buy new suits and I never felt right in a tankini or one piece (mind you they have come a looooonnnnggg way since when we were younger). I say go with your bad self and keep wearing your two pieces

If you can rock a bikini, go for it! I've never been able to and I prefer tankinis for the coverage and ease of going to the bathroom. I hate pulling one pieces all the way off when wet.

I'm sticking with my bikinis. I have a bunch of VS Pink ones. Things are mostly what they were pre-pregnancy.
The only thing really making me hesitate is the linea nigra hasn't completely faded yet. I don't even know if anyone would notice it because it is mostly gone, but I can still see it.

I gave up bikinis about 5 years ago. Someday I'd like to think I'll try again, but my kids would totally expose me in the pool if I wore something like that. Tankini all the way these days.
I think I'm going to keep rocking my bikini. I didn't get any new stretch marks from pregnancy and although my stomach is definitely a little soft (nothing new there), my boobs are bigger, so it balances out I think?
Victoria's Secret has bunch of one pieces and even mono-kinis, and they're having a big sale now.
I rocked the bikini this past weekend at my IL's lake house. I of course wore a tank top over when I held G because he grabs at the top of my clothes, but when I didn't have him I was fine wearing it. I still have a little pooch, but nothing major and at this point it isn't pregnancy related, just overweight from letting myself go since getting pregnant with T in 2013. But hoping working out will help tighten me up again. I'm not majorly overweight, just what I consider "extra" in all my areas. I have a long torso so it helps with not making me look my weight. I just wore a more modest bikini.
But this thread does have me wanting to go get a new swim suit so I think I'll start looking now for our trip next month.
Not gonna lie, I had envisioned what my pregnancy boobs and then postpartum boobs were going to look like in my bikinis.
Now they're back to their previous non-existent state. I feel cheated.
I don't know. My picture of my postpartum boobs wasn't real positive. Deflated balloons about summed it up. Mayhaps it's not quite that bad, but pregnancy didn't really help me in that department either.
So I've started stressing now that I'm looking and really need to upgrade my swimsuit collection.
I've never done a one piece due to long torso and it they cut up, but what do ya'll think of these? I'm 31 this summer, I don't feel like a frumpy "mom", so I really want something cute, fun and possibly belly controlled without looking too old.
newmomma8 I like that black one mostly because I struggle with prints in general. I also think that if the one piece has a low cut back it makes it less frumpy. I have the long torso thing too. Still on he hint for the unicorn that is the young/sexy one piece. if I find it I will share.
kcrkcs, I ordered two bikinis and two one piece suits from Venus just to try them out. Hoping they all look great and I can stop hunting, but I am still looking.
I've found the monokini's don't look frumpy so I actually went with this one and really hoping it looks good/decent.

I'm just over here laughing like an idiot because I was envisioning myself in the suit and then DS coming over to me and pointing at my boobs and asking non-stop for breastmilk. LOL nope. Gotta keep the milk bags covered around the toddler unless it's feeding time.

There was an issue with the order process so my shipment was delayed. I'm so anxious to try it on. I'm mentally telling myself to expect the worse so maybe I'll look better than I thought once I slip that sucker on.
I'm just worried since I have a long torso, that will be a major factor whether I can keep it or not.
I just got this suit in from Loft. I totally forgot I ordered it. It's two sizes up from my current Loft pants size, because I have a super long torso so one pieces are always a gamble. Also, it was all they had left so I figured I'd give it a shot. It actually looks really cute, is comfortable, easy to pop a boob out, and I think it will stay put while chasing toddler at the beach and on vacation. My only compliant is the straps are not adjustable. They are a bit loose on my shoulders given the bigger size thing, but not so much that I'm concerned about exposure or it falling off. I think I will keep it! I think this style is super flattering and forgiving to PP/mom body.
