This is my last weekend at home for two weeks, and I think my one day off between now and mid July will be turning into a half day. So I have to do all the things plus all the relaxing. I don't know what drugs I was doing when I decided ten straight days of travel/horse showing was a good idea with a baby etc. but they must have been good! Any Father's Day plans? Weekend fun?

I would say enjoy today, but I have a feeling your going to be pretty busy kcrkcs.
Munchkin is still at my mom's. I need to get around and go get home, but I'm currently lounging in bed drinking my coffee.
H and I have barely spoken. It helps to hear that some of you have gone through this with your first kid. I keep telling myself it will get better. The summers are usually not good for us with him home during the day. I'm all about routine and him being home seems to throw everything off for me. Having J has dialed that up to a 10.
MH and DS are at gymnastics and I'm here with DD. Later today we go to my parents' for Father's Day. Lobster is on the menu tomorrow. Yum! There's also a big music festival this weekend I will be going to. And I'm supposed to be cleaning out my closet at my parents place.
The kiddos and I are staying until Wednesday because there's fire alarm testing in our building during nap time on Monday and I've got a 9:00 dentist appointment nearby on Wednesday. Should be... yep. I've got all these plans to take them to the beach, and to the pool, etc. We'll see what pans out.
Sitting here pumping; DD is asleep in the swing, my DS is watching some video to keep him occupied while I pump and my oldest is in her room doing who knows what. My DH is at the grocery store. We are going to a baseball game with new friends this afternoon and I'm hoping my DH and her DH get a long because they've never met. Then I work tomorrow on Father's Day until 3. I feel so bad about it. Grilling afterward. Super tired since DD decided to be up so much in the middle of the night. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

It sounds like people have a fun weekend planned! lucanjo14 and kcrkcs I'm sorry you have to work this weekend. It's humid here and I have no capris/shorts that fit well. I need to buy something since summer is just starting. I slept like crap last night and dd3 was up a ton. On the bright side dd2 woke up with a dry diaper !!?! Amazing. I cannot tell you how nice it was to wake up and not have to deal with toddler poo immediately.

Yeah... DD3 is either teething or having growing pains because she has been a serious pain in the butt the last 2 days. Today mid-morning I finally gave her Tylenol just to see if it would help, and it did. So Tylenol it is until I get my sweet baby back. Oh, and just for kicks she woke up at 5am this morning and refused to fall back asleep. That was fun.
The job that the project manager was going to try *really hard* to get sent off by Friday did not get sent. The good news is that gave me time today to cook ahead and get some work done in the yard. I'm assuming I'll be working so much I won't get to do any yard work in July, so it's good to get some done now!

Both kids slept until 8 again... Whaaaat??!
I need to get up and pump because I have a haircut/color today. After that we are going to my sister's for my mom's birthday party. Hopefully dd2 isn't nearly as fussy today as she was yesterday!
No Father's Day plans here. Dd1 and I made him a card yesterday, and I'm going to tell him to take a day for himself and golf 18 holes with some buddies when he has a day off. We'll also probably grill or cook something yummy. I still need to figure that out though...
Hanging out at my mom's as usual. Slightly hung over. I had a lot of fun at karaoke with my sister yesterday. Today we're hanging out making cards for father's day, going to the comic store to buy a present for H, and then S and I are going to my friend's house for an outdoor movie party.
H played golf earlier today while I hung back with the kiddos. Grocery shopping done and I've been prepping some things for dinner tomorrow with the IL's. I'm pretty pumped about our feast. Even more pumped about the mojitos I plan on making

I'm here. Sitting in a comfy chair in the nursing moms room at church. I am alone except the baby and my iced coffee...I may need to nurse my baby for an entire hour.

I had a pretty fun say actually. Mil I went shopping with all the girls (eek!) and found some cute things. Plus she treated for coffee and some yummy steaks to grill another night. For all my complaints about them we really did have fun.
I'm here. H' family left yesterday. It was a really trying visit with C having trouble and mil becoming less and less cool. Seriously. I usually say I have a great mil, but by the end she was contradicting me when I'd ask C to do something, making comments about me leaving K alone (there were 3 people in the room!) and complaining, subtly, about things. GTFO.
I spoke to the pedi about C yesterday. I described what has been happening. She feels like it is normal and caused by jealousy over K. I was doubtful at first but she made some points that convinced me she might be right (directed more at me, increasing now that school is out, increasing when family visits and shows interest in K, etc.) I feel a little better and we have refocused on trying to make special time for her.
For Father's day, I had a photo collage coffee mug made and I'm cooking H's favorite meal. He is taking C to see Finding Dory on a Daddy/daughter date.

gizmo I'm sorry it ended that way. My ILs contradict us a lot too and it drives me nuts. I finally stopped correcting behavior at dinner tonight bc mil was buying into everything they were doing that I asked them not to do (playing games at the table, asking Qs with a full mouth, refilling drinks every two minutes, etc).

gizmo, that's what DD2's preschool teacher said, too. That a lot of it was because she had been "replaced" as the youngest child by DD3. It's interesting to watch them interact because DD1 definitely sees DD2 as her competition (if we praise DD2 for doing something nice, DD1 always says, "I'm nice too!"), while DD2 hero-worships DD1. But DD2 hardly pays any attention to DD3 while DD1 fawns over her. Sibling rivalry...
Morning! Another busy weekend over here. We went to a music class yesterday morning and it was pretty fun! Then we went out to lunch with some friends and then different friends came over for dinner. This morning we're going to an infant massage class (side note, I'm totally becoming one of those parents) and then to a BBQ this afternoon.
Hopefully we can Skype with H this morning. I sent a father's day package to him on Tuesday by priority mail but he still hasn't gotten it.
My mom is coming over soon to help me set up S's bedroom. H is sleeping in, M is napping. I think this afternoon we're going to hang out with my dad. S had a blast at the outdoor movie last night. We got home at midnight. He'd probably still be asleep, except M woke him up when I put her down.

It was almost 100 here today so we had a very low key day. The girls played in their kiddie pool, baby played on a blanket and went to bed so easily! I'm hoping for a calm night. Anyone had a milk blister? I was the unfortunate recipient of one and omg, not fun.
So those whose babies are in the crib- when do you put them in there for the night? We've been putting DD in the swing in the living room with us when she gets tired around 8:30, and then I bring her up to the bassinet when I go to bed. Today DH moved her swing to her room so he could let DS play in the living room while she napped. So right now I just got her to sleep in her swing and it's still in her room. I am feeling so anxious with her up there though, like I feel like she should be down here with us. Am I crazy?

dizzycooks, I had a milk blister. Ouch. I was eventually able to soften it with a hot shower and then some olive oil until baby could nurse it and pop it basically. I know others who have done the pop it with a needle trick but I'm not brave enough.
lucanjo14, my LO is in the crib in my room. I put him up there when he goes to bed around 7:30 or 8, and hang out downstairs with the monitor (just audio) until I go to bed.

Our house is very small so she is never more than 40ft. From me. We put her in the crib around 7:30 when she does her initial fall asleep then she is up around 8/8:30 and asleep until 1/3 latest around 9/9:30. It did feel very weird to have her out of reach at first. Video monitor eased my feelings.

lucanjo14 my baby sleeps in her crib all night now. We never did the swing or rnp for sleep though. She goes in it after a story and nursing at 630ish. I get her out around 7 or 8am for the day. She wakes several times, but I nurse her and she goes down pretty well. If it's not easy, we may cosleeping in her room, there's a double bed there, but that's not a common thing. Generally we will let her cio at this point if her needs are met. I go about my business. Tonight we did yard work. I dont bring the monitor. She can deal with two hours of us popping in and out. We will check if we hear her. Eta: words are hard

We put M down at around 7:30/8 (usually, we aren't sticklers for the schedule), and then hang out downstairs until we go to bed. We have an audio only monitor that came with 2 parent units, one stays in the living room, the other in our room. She usually wakes around midnight/1, and then 4/5 and then up for the day around 8.
I did something to my back. No freaking idea what, but it's so sore. Moving hurts, sitting wrong hurts, sneezing hurts. H bought me some Robax, and I'm sitting with my heating pad for now. Hopefully it's better tomorrow, we have stuff to do. The Robax is making me feel super high, but not doing much for the pain.

Robaxin kind of sucks. If it's still bugging you tomorrow. Get a script for something that works. I have some pretty serious back issues and feel like I have tried all the muscle relaxants at one time or another. Flexeril and skellaxin (I have no idea how to spell either) are both pretty good for true muscle spasm and I believe it was the skellaxin that I felt no side effect high from. Good luck.

I don't know if it's a muscle spasm or what. Heat doesn't help much. We'll see.
