All along I've kind of been thinking this will be easy since we just did the newborn thing 2 years ago. Now I find that I am kind of forgetting what I need to do to get ready. The biggest thing on my list is to wash everything we'll be using soon.
Here's the real question - What did you buy new for baby #2? (Both girls, both July/august, so at least that's easy.)
I am planning to get: new bottles, new bath sponge, another sound machine, new changing pad since we had to trash a couple, new vneck shirts for nursing, and...? That's all I can think of! What am I missing?

I didn't get whole new bottles, just a whole new set of nipples. That said, our bottles were used 2 days a week instead of 5. I also got new membranes for my pump. Turns out that was all I needed and it was as good the second time around as the first.
I got new pacifiers. If you use those, I would definitely do it especially if they were well used.
She got her own of things that I thought were gross to share, like a nasal aspirator (DD1 was still using hers).
We shuffled fans around so we had fans in each room. We use those for white noise.
DD1 was still using a changing pad at the time, so I got one for each room with new covers for the big girl room.
Anything I really wanted with DD1 but never had we got: softer crib sheets, a rock 'n' play (that ironically we won't be using for DD3 much because it was probably a flat spot contributor with DD2), different types of swaddles, a better soft structured carrier.
Despite needing no toys family got DD2 a bajillion. Family also gifted her blankets for her, which ended up being handy and I'd say we now use every one of the million fleece blankets we own for something or other.
For DD2 and DD3 I am getting a double stroller. Didn't do it for #1 and #2 because DD1 was great at walking by me at 2.5. DD2 and 2 is a bolter, so I need her contained.
For some odd reason I keep forgetting I need to actually buy newborn diapers (we do disposables). Some day here I'll remember. We already have wipes on hand because DD2 still uses them.

I figured I needed to buy all the little things. Shampoo, gas drops, gripe water, nose frida, diaper creams, indent Tylenol. Over Than those little things I plan to buy some new A+A swaddle blankets (DD loves her and still likes to use them) new reviving blankets ( ours got used at diapers then made into wipes) a new Soft structure carrier (lilli baby), the biggest thing is a new pack n play, DDs is kind of gross and well used. 5this little girl won't have a room for a few months and will basicly have to occupy the living room with all her stuff. so I got a really nice pack n play with a removable rock n play type thing, retractable changing table, and some hidden storage.

This is what we picked up: New pacifiers, bottle nipples (we're reusing the same glass bottles as last time), second video/audio monitor (DS is almost 2 and we want a monitor in his room for awhile now still), new soft bibs, gas drops, infants' tylenol, double stroller, car seat adapter for double stroller, etc. The list for what we need to get for DS' big boy room (our nursery will remain the nursery for this baby too) is much longer and we haven't even started. Womp womp.
We got nipples. Had a gazillion soothers from DD since she hated them so yea praying these boys like them. Diapers a bunch of them!! Diaper wipes, diaper cream, formula incase. Still need to get oval, infant Tylenol, and Vaseline.
Like you mentioned, we went through a couple changing pads too with DD. This time, I bought a Keekaroo changer...way more expensive, but easy to wipe clean and not have to worry about the pad ripping.
Also, new Velcro swaddle blankets (the Velcro on the other ones was wearing), new video camera for monitoring, diapers, wipes, infant toiletries, big hooded towels for DD so LO can use the smaller ones. Since we are having a boy this time, most of the new stuff we got is boy clothing, blue crib sheets, etc.

This is so helpful! I know I'm forgetting little stuff.
kaitkat I found a bag full of brand new soothers the other day - DS hated them too! It was nice to not have to wean him off of it, but it would have been helpful in some situations for him to take one.
I basically had to buy or will buy everything I needed for DD. Shes still in her crib so she's keeping the crib sheets. She's also still in diapers so I needed another changing pad. I bought new membranes for my pump and probably should get new nipples for bottles since DDs were used exclusively since she was 3 weeks old. And since DDs room will remain hers all the nursery decorations will stay in there. After we know if we're team blue or pink I'll add new decorations for new LO. Plus we had to get a crib and dresser (changing table). We might even get a new recliner bc DD uses her every night to read with us and loves it. Figure if we get another one DD will always have a reading chair in her room as she gets older (DH is a huge fan of reading chairs haha).

We are in the same boat with rooms. DD will stay in the nursery a few months until baby is ready to move out of our room. Hopefully by then I'll have done something to change our guest room into a toddler's room....
Double stroller needs to go on our list too I think. I was planning on wearing new baby on stroller walks for a while until I figure out if we really want one and which one to get.

This is what we did. My two are 23 months apart & it worked out really well.

Did this for DD1 and DD2 (2.5 years apart). Ended up just skipping the double. But as I said before, DD1 and DD2 are so night-and-day on their ability to stay with me in a parking lot or store it isn't even funny.

We're getting new bottles for sure - the ones that DS used are impossible to get 100% clean at this point. Set on clothes due to super generous fellow moms at the daycare having boys for #2 and eager to get their girl clothes out of their houses
Diapers, pacifiers, probably should grab a few new crib sheets - we got a hand me down double stroller, but it's been sitting in our carport and is covered in dirt and dust. Cleaning it will be kind of a pain in the ass, methinks. I am also totally scratching my head wondering what else I need!

I felt like I didn't have much to buy. But then buy I did. I'm also an avid shopper, so...!
We got a new monitor, a snuzza, a baby wrap, new breastpump (although insurance paid for that), a new cover for our high chair, the latest edition of Baby 411, burp clothes, A&A blankets, more velcro swaddlers, nose frida, infant tylenol, another humidifier, washcloths, new changing pad covers, a new diaper bag, and a conversion bar to make our stroller a double.
