So I want to paint DD1's big girl room mint green on 3 walls with an accent wall of light purple. I was going to do the biggest wall in the room, the one with the paint colors on it, as the accent wall. I have enough of that color to cover 100 sq. feet and the wall is 88 sq. feet just enough to cover it. I really don't want to buy more paint for such a small area. How do you think it would look if I would paint the wall with the door or closets as the accent wall? I already have purple curtains and green shelves for her room. Here are the walls. Pardon the mess. The closet doors were off when we moved in and are another project on my list. Biggest Wall
Which is North, South, East, and West (directions don't really matter, but so I can picture the overall layout)? I would probably say the wall opposite the window wall should be the accent wall, but it depends which wall that is, which way you enter the room, etc. If you can sketch a very rough plan view of the room and upload a photo, that would be ideal, but I'll work with just the info too. Also, are the shelves matching or complimentary green? Which wall will those go on?

The shelves are not a matching green. They are a few shades darker I think. I had them painted before we moved into our own house and painting a room for her was even on my radar. I want to put the green shelves on the purple accent wall. I also have these butterflies I'd like to put on the accent wall.
I would go with the wall with the entrance door then. Likely, if you want the head of the bed against one wall, that would be the wall (depending on room size, bed size, what other layout considerations need to be accounted for, etc), so it has a lot of reasons supporting it as the accent wall.

You mean the wall with the door right? Just checking. Right now her the head of her bed is in on the biggest wall with the feet on the door wall (if that makes sense). I was thinking about putting it with the head of her bed on the door wall and the feet on the biggest wall.

Yeah, door wall as accent wall. I could envision it as a likely wall for a head of a bed, especially as a kid gets older and has less odds and ends extras in their room (I.e. toys, toy boxes/shelves, etc.

I agree with this logic (head of the bed going against accent wall)!
I'd probably do the accent wall the door wall too. I'd be afraid I'd run out of paint for the largest wall, and the closet wall I feel would be too broken up since there are two doors.
On an unrelated not, I like the picture on her wall!
Some people on Pregnancy suggest I paint the closet wall the accent because it has the smallest amount of space to cover and I told them I like moving furniture a lot. The closet doors will be white by the time I'm done with them. What do you ladies think of the closet wall as the accent?
I'm sure that would look ok too. I'm not sure why you moving furniture would make a difference in which wall to make the accent though. I will admit though that I still probably wouldn't want to use the closet wall as the accent wall if I was the one painting it though. That is mostly because I'm a little lazy and wouldn't want to have to wash the paint brushes for such a small space. But like I said, my opinion is mostly about me being lazy and not what would look better. I'm sure your DD will like it now matter which wall you choose.

I'm a happy Penguin. Wal-Mart let me exchange the quart I had for a gallon. So the biggest wall will be the accent wall. H is painting tomorrow! I'm so excited Thanks for all your thoughts. Pics will be taken when done.
