We are finally, finally to that point. Almost. Maybe. I wanna pull my hair out. It's been months in coming, I thought we'd have this done right after Christmas, but a myraid of things always seem to pile up and get in the way.
We do have the home study interviews scheduled for Wednesday evening. We have a new social worker who I am a little bit nervous about (okay, gonna admit it, a lot a lot). We got reassigned because we took so long with our paperwork that our previous SW finished her contract with our agency at the end of last year. And I'm super worried that this new SW is holding that against us. She was a little stern over the phone when we were arranging for her to come over, sort of lecturing me as she asked me questions (why are you adopting from SA, what age range are you looking at, etc.). Very likely I am being hyper-senstive - way too much going on in my mind atm.
I hope to goodness it is JUST interviews and that the house tour is for another time because I just am not ready for both. I meant to be, but with my FIL in and out of oncologists' offices (and the ER again this weekend, which is why there is a maybe-on-Wednesday involved here) my house is only half clean, I'm fretting over my graduate homework and sort of hoping she doesn't think I'm completely useless when she meets us in person on Wednesday. DH is holding up better than me and doing his best to pick up after me/cook/etc. but the house really needs two people on it.
I know people have shared their home study stories before, but I'd love to hear them again. Just to calm my inner worrywart.
