Soooo we went to put A to bed and I turn the heat up, only nothing happens. We try resetting the furnace a few times, check the breakers,....nothing! Everything looks fine! We call our former neighbor who happens to own the company that delivers our oil and troubleshoot over the phone-nothing. So he sends one of his guys out. At 8:30pm. During a snowstorm. On a Sunday
Well he can't find anything wrong either except that the furnace has no power..... Well apparently A turned off the emergency shut off switch while DH carried her up from the basement earlier.... At least it was an easy fix and they weren't charging since we're friends. We gave him some cash for making the drive out and had a good laugh.

Lots of IUI's and 3 IVFs later we have a daughter!

TTC #2 IVF #4 and an FET brought us DD #2 on St. Patrick's Day!
Ok so this was us rather than toddler, but w/o toddler it wouldn't have happened. Last year we took baby monitor with DS when he went to inlaws for a night when we went to a wedding. When we got back, we were having a heck of a time making the parent and kid units link. We would test them in the room, everything was fine, one of us would take the parent unit downstairs and it'd all be good. We'd put him to bed. Then moments after leaving his room, they would start beeping the "not connected" beep of annoyance. So we'd go back in, and they'd work fine.
(This continues way longer than it should have...)
We actually had a conversation about whether the fan being off changed something with the signal. Yes. The two educated parents in this house were stooping to that level.
Finally realized solution - we had the darn thing plugged into THE ONE THAT GOES WITH THE LIGHT SWITCH. So when we left the room and turned off the switch for the overhead light, it was also turning off the baby monitor.

Everyone Welcome!
I don't have anything quite that funny, but E is the reason we have a keypad lock on the front door. She locked me out of the house in 30* weather (I know that isn't cold for people who have winter, but in Texas that is unbelievable!) in my pajamas, with no phone, with her and P both inside, and MH out of town.
Luckily I was able to convince her to unlock the door, after 10 minutes of her crying at the window that she "needs me." Well if you "need" me baby, unlock the dang door!
We have an outlet strip in our bedroom that we plug our phone chargers into. DD will leave the plugs alone, but will turn the switch off. I can't count the number of times I thought I'd charged my phone overnight only to have it die at work the next day.
