Breastfeeding mom here... So pedi recommended tri-vi-sol for vitamins so LO is getting all the nutrients he needs. I swear this hurts his tummy. It seems he doesn't poop nearly as often and seems almost constipated. I've gone days where I don't use them and then try again and it seems to be the same result. Does anyone have this issue? I feel bad when I don't give them to him and then I feel worse when I do. I feel like he's in pain because he just screams and doesn't want to sleep or anything. I'm holding him finally asleep and his tummy is rumbling he's usually a happy baby... Any solutions or suggestions?

Our pedi said just vitamin D for breastfed babies (and I think for formula babies too) I don't think they need a full multivitamin, but it could definitely be bothering his tummy.

I felt the same way with my toddler. It seemed to really mess with his tummy. I stopped using the multi vitamin and just got the vitamin d only drops. He's healthy. I'm doing only vitamins drops with DD.

I don't do the vitamin drops. I take V on a tour of our garden as long as it's not raining, and I consider that to be good enough for Vitamin D conversion.

+1 to no vitamin drops. My doctor actually never even brought it up this time. She's outside pretty much daily. I never remembered with dd1 and she was a December baby.
We do probiotics with a vitamin D in them. My pedi never mentioned a multi vitamin for him. Seems a bit weird? I would think you could have it but not baby. Seems like a lot.

I have no experience with the tri-vi-sol, but when J was on a generic brand of d-vi-sol, she was fussy and gassy. Stopping giving it to her was the best thing I could have done since the difference is night and day between when she was on it and when she's not. I think their tummies have a hard time with some of the ingredients. I know with the vitamin d drops there are others out there with less ingredients. Maybe there's also a different brand with less ingredients that has the same vitamins that you could try?

thanks for the feedback! I take him outside often too. I think I'm just going to stop. He is definitely night and day when on it. I may try just Vitamin D drops later.
SheilaTheTank, I know I've been off and on! Been lurking more than posting
