annapunkalunka, that sounds like a brutal day, eat allll the sugar. lovetruly2015, I don't think an allergic reaction would affect breast milk? But I never personally had it so it can't hurt to ask. What a bummer, you are due for a break!
Question for ya'll, we are going to the beach this weekend, and were going to meet up one day with a friend who has 2 LO's. She just told me they are getting over HFM, fevers just broke today but the spots are still there. Do you think it's fine to let DS play with them? Not sure how long HFM is contagious, and I know that little bastard of a disease spreads like wildfire.
No, absolutely not. My kids have it right now, it's super contagious for at least a week. It can be spread through saliva (kisses, sneezes, sharing food or utensils), if a blister bursts the liquid inside could infect someone, and it'll be in the poop for weeks. I don't even know how my 18 month old got it but my 13 year old got it from her. It's awful.
Fever is the first sign, the blisters come a day or 2 later. So if the fevers were yesterday they will still be contagious for a while. Don't take any chances with your kids on this.
f14mama, daycare for HFM was also he can come once his fever is over. Our family doctor said when the blisters in his mouth are gone. He had a very mild case, so we send him back after the mandatory 24 hour with no fever wait. I think you're fine.
Thanks sodapop and beckyrosen! I'm starting to think it may be a no because both her kids had it and they just got over fevers this weekend and still have blisters. I just feel like a dick telling her, even though I know she'll totally understand and not care.
LadyNymeria It is so hard! I would definitely have your husband help out if he's willing.
Waiting for my follow up ultrasound! Hopefully the minor placenta previa has cleared up. Then we are going to try to find a coming home outfit again. I really hope we can find something since this is unreasonably stressing me out.
He keeps deferring to me! Which makes sense because it's all stuff I will probably use more myself than he will, but I'll have to see if I can get him to come with me to the store this weekend. Don't think he'll be able to do anything in the nursery this weekend because the poly will need time to dry once he puts it down.
Hope your u/s goes well and the previa cleared up!
Good luck at your ultrasound flyakite! Let us know how it goes.
I hope you're feeling better @snuff9861, that sounds awful.
I just walked on the treadmill for 15 minutes and I feel like I need a support belt already. DD is having quiet time, and keeps popping her head out of her room yelling "you okay in there Momma?"
Thanks everyone. Haven't puked since overnight but still feeling gurgling. Also seem to have lost my glasses since coming home from work so now I have a headache.
Hope the reaction goes away soon lovetruly2015 Hope you feel better soon @snuff9861 Just got back from the zoo with DS. It was hard work but DS had so much fun. Now it's nap time

FFWC: Since I don't watch or care about Big Brother, I find the site-wide announcement discussion thread to be incredibly, and I admit irrationally, annoying.
It's just one more sticky at the top of the page and one more thread I need to click on to get rid of the "NEW" icon (hence the irrational part of my FFWC - for some reason I can't just ignore the NEW icons, I always have to click into the thread to make it go away).

I'm excited about BB, but I'm not sure it warrants its own thread announcement...
Blah. I failed my 1 hour glucose test. I was 17 points off.
So, now I take the 3 hour. H is all freaked out because this is the first test we've had done that's come back even remotely anomalous, and now he wants all the information about what the risks are to me and the baby and etc.
On the plus side, my weight stayed the same, so now I'm back to being below normal weight gain. And tomorrow I'm official 3rd Tri!

Awe ma!, pismoduo, that sucks! Hopefully you'll pass the 3 hour test. And congrats on your weight. I'm definitely already over what they recommend for the entire pregnancy. They haven't said anything yet, but it makes me feel awful! Oh well, I just try to avoid crappy food (as hard as it is)!

I'm not super surprised, my mom had GD during all 3 of her pregnancies, and both she and my grandmother developed diabetes late in life, so there's definitely a predisposition toward it. Hopefully it's either a glitch or manageable with diet.
Avoiding the crap food is hard! Especially in the summer when there's all these BBQs and parties and such. H picked me up from my appointment and wanted to stop and get a slurpee since the weather was nice and he was thirsty. I'm sure you're doing just fine. Save

Me too. I gained about 40 with both DS and DD, and I'm afraid I'm going to gain more than that this time based on where I am now.
pismoduo the love tit was for the positive weight news, not the GD test. Sorry you failed and hopefully the 3 hour one goes smoothly!
TMI alert: I just initiated sex for the first time in I don't know how long. I went back and forth between feeling normal and worrying we were smashing the baby. It had been a while...

Hope it was an uneventful night singingsea! We were supposed to get the remnants of that today as non-severe thunderstorms but now we're getting nothing

Yeah it wasn't the wind event they were making it out to be. Just a lot of lightening, thunder and rain. We badly needed the rain though. I was waiting for my yard to catch fire.

We need the rain real bad too. Our yard is crispy! We're down to a less than 20% chance of even showers though so looks like no rain today.
Can't imagine what it's like in CA just based on what it's like in our area from a dry winter and spring.
