I'm just sitting at work 2 hours early while we get some sort of phone upgrade. So I've got a 14 hour day. I WILL be getting a coffee this morning. The baby is perfectly happy right now doing somersaults in my uterus, though! At least one of us has energy!

Having my first allergic reaction ever and its not fun. I noticed a rash all over my stomach, hips and spots on my hands and arms yesterday I think its either the prenatal they discharged me with or the iron. They gave me Motrin too but I take that all the time when im on my period so I don't think that's it. I'm calling my doctor's office as soon as they open because this is not fun. Im so itchy. Worst part os im not sure if I can still give my milk to the baby do allergies effect that? I gotta ask the nurses in the nicu.

14 hours is a very long day. I think you deserve coffee amd cake for that.
I'm being lazy and don't want to get out of bed. This is me every morning so that's nothing new.
Baby had the hiccups for the first time (that I noticed) last night! It was really neat to be able to tell that's what I was feeling.
Next time try and listen to it on your monitor thats a trip. Jackson got hiccups a few times while is the hospital. It was soooo loud and so strange to hear. But I never felt it.
annapunkalunka, that sounds like a brutal day, eat allll the sugar. lovetruly2015, I don't think an allergic reaction would affect breast milk? But I never personally had it so it can't hurt to ask. What a bummer, you are due for a break!
Question for ya'll, we are going to the beach this weekend, and were going to meet up one day with a friend who has 2 LO's. She just told me they are getting over HFM, fevers just broke today but the spots are still there. Do you think it's fine to let DS play with them? Not sure how long HFM is contagious, and I know that little bastard of a disease spreads like wildfire.
I can't believe it's only Wednesday. I have no motivation or energy this week, just want to stay home and be by myself all day. But I also need to stay employed, haha.

Oh and at the end of the day yesterday, I got an email from a rep in our benefits office with the FMLA approval letter, which said I was approved for 6 weeks of leave instead of 12. She then argued with me that I can only take 6 weeks total (our policy has changed to offer 6 weeks paid + 6 unpaid). WTF lady, it's really not that hard to figure out. So she basically threw up her hands and said her supervisor will straighten it out when she's back from vacation next week. Sigh.

Ah I wish I had thought of that!!! It was right next to me on the end table too!! I'll have to remember to try it next time.
In a complete turn around from Monday I feel great today. I feel like water was the issue and Monday and yesterday I chugged all of it.
We're supposed to get some wicked weather today/tonight. I'm a nerd but I love storms (so long as no one gets hurt.)
It's amazing how much of an impact being even a little dehydrated can have.
I LOVE storms!!! One of my favorite things to do in the summer is sit on the front porch and watch thunderstorms roll through. A few years ago I watched a tornado form from my window at work and it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. The excitement was short lived because people got hurt and there ended up being a ton of damage, but as a weather junky it was unbelievable to be able to watch one form.

I would probably run that by your DS's pediatrician's office. I don't know much about the disease, except that it spreads easily, so personally I'd want to hear it from a dr as to whether or not they could still be contagious.

I'm a weather junkie too My response to storms is a bit different now. Before kids I used to stand on the porch and watch shit go down. Now I'm all "get DS in the fucking basement!" lol. Well minus the swearing. I'm also Mrs. Prepared with my survival kit, weather radio, flashlights, candles etc.
f14mama HFM is no longer contagious once the fever breaks...with the exception of any fluid that may come from the broken blisters on hands/feet. My LO has had it twice and she was cleared to resume play after the fever but was told to just make everyone aware and keep hands cleaned etc.
lovetruly2015 Sorry about the allergic reaction! I don't think that it should be a problem though with giving your milk to Jackson. Hopefully they can figure it out. I feel like PP hormones could possibly be the culprit?
AFM, I've spent the past 2 days debating paint colors for our downstairs. Why are there one million options?! Argh!

I'm getting so annoyed with myself for being so indecisive over baby stuff (mainly car seat/stroller and glider right now). I'm not really an indecisive person, but I do have trouble when there are so many options for something.
When MH works on a room in our house, when it comes to details he picks out a handful of whatever he likes (lights, door handles, paint colors, etc) and I pick what I like from the smaller selection he picked rather than trying to come up with my own pick from the whole universe of options. Apparently I need someone to do this for me with baby stuff!!
I LOVE Cirque du Soleil!! Which show pippacricket ?
We love it, too! We've seen a handful of their shows over the years. The one we're seeing tonight is called Kurios.
I think that's the one I wanted to go to a couple weeks ago. But for some reason I heard about it really late and couldn't make it work with everything else we had going on.

Popping in to ask a quick question. These trophies on our profiles are confusing me. I need to know how much I participate! I need to know, but now there are different names and I don't know anymore. Halp. Is there a thread that explains this? How many comments do I need for the next trophy?

Good question, I'll be waiting for the answer too.
There was a pinned thread about it, but I don't think it included post counts.

I spent more time than I would have liked dealing with the city and our surveyor this morning only to find out the city lost/didn't receive our curb cut application for the second time, so we have wasted 4 months because our surveyor didn't realize that the application needs to be filed in person (not mailed in). So much for hiring an expert to help us with this process.
Thanks for the tip cbowl, this is what I had read and knew from daycare tips. Unfortunately we're in the process of changing pediatricians, and the old office won't give me advice (?), and the new office doesn't have us in the system yet. Yet you can't tell me general guidelines? Whatevs..
