I don't really know where to start or how to describe what's going on. I posted briefly on the SN board last Spring when my daughter was diagnosed with SPD as Loppy19.
Right now, I am not really sure if she has SPD or what is going on with her. She is almost 4 years old and for the last two years she's been prone to having regular emotional outbursts. I can't figure out what causes them other than things she doesn't like. Certain sounds, clothes (don't even mention the world "necklace" to her), having to do things she doesn't want to do (which includes a long list), etc. Sometimes I feel like she is propelled by a tiny motor because she does not ever stop moving. Never. Loud, screaming, crying, falling to the floor outbursts. We have silenced many restaurants and grocery stores.
My husband and I both have ADHD so we have been wondering if that is coming into play with her and plan to speak to her pediatrician at her 4 year well check at the end of the month. I spoke to my therapist regarding my concerns, and from that conversation we cut out preservatives and food dyes from her diet and drastically reduced the amount of sugar she's allowed to eat to see if it would help. I've also been trying to take her on a walk or get her more physical exercise everyday. I figure if nothing out those are healthy things to do anyways.
So hi! That's us. I'm sort of a mess right now after a rough weekend, so I hope that all makes sense and it's ok that I'm posting here. I am open to any feedback on all of that. There's more background stuff but that's the basics.
