Parenting has felt extra hard these last few days. I miss my husband being home for bedtime, and the sleepy newborn who can be set down easily. Ugh, I just can't get a routine down.
I know the feeling. Hugs, momma. You're doing an incredible job!
Is anyone else irrationally angry that they have a "big brother" tv show thread in the announcements section? Why don't they just set up a separate board?
No!! Thanks to that thread a couple years ago I was introduced to the majesty that is big brother. It's highly entertaining! You should join in 😀
I have the opposite issue of many of you. I stopped nursing and what little boob I had is now gone. None of my swimsuits fit up there. How is it possible to get smaller boobs?!
I would share some of mine if I could. I'm now an E. An E!
That's what I was pre-pregnancy. Who knows what monstrosity of a size they are now. Bras, even my nursing ones, are just too uncomfortable. I mostly just wear nursing tanks with the shelf. I always wear nursing pads, so it's not like anyone can see me nippin out.
I just don't know if my loose belly skin is really ever going to tighten back up. It's not like exercise can change your skin. And the stretch marks...so ya, no more bikinis for me.
Don't get me wrong, I don't actually care. If that's the price I have to pay to finally get my baby, my sweet boy, I really don't care. The only person who ever needs to see my post-pregnancy belly is my husband, and he has made it very clear he does not care. I'm just saying, I won't be wearing bikinis anymore.
My stomach was ruined after 10 pound baby #1. My boobs also seem to get smaller each time I wean. But I'm doing a "mommy makeover" sometime in the next 2 years and hoping to be able to wear a bikini again after that. Until then I've found some pretty cute 1 pieces.
Good for you. Thats my plan when we are done having babies.
www.etsy.com/market/lillebaby They are for teething babies that suck your carrier straps. They are also just a way to accessorize. I needed an easy sewing project for my mental health.
Ugh. I feel like I am having one breastfeeding issue after another. Last week it was a clogged duct. This week it's milk blisters. And I'm starting to suspect I have Reynaud's syndrome.
I've kind of weaned him down to only breastfeeding 4 or 5 times a day and formula the rest. So maybe that's the cause of some of this. Makes me want to wean all together.

Lol not my kind of show! I just don't get why it's "announcement" worthy and not just a separate board? I mean, when Gilmore Girls starts up again do we get that in an announcement thread?
I didn't think it was my kind of show either until I watched it after reading the thread. Now I'm hooked! As for why it's pinned unlike other shows - I think it's unique because of the live feeds, so there's a lot to discuss. It's really one long discussion so it doesn't need it's own board just for one thread. We have people participating from boards all over TCF. We've been able to get a lot more people interested and participating by getting it pinned so we requested it again this year and the mods obliged!

Ohhh I got blisters the first few days after DS was born! The LC said they're from a shallow latch. So just make sure your DS has a good mouthful of nipple! And don't try to pop the blisters or anything, they will go down if you just leave them.
Why do you suspect Raynauds? I haven't been diagnosed by a doctor, but I definitely have it. I developed it two winters ago. Except this winter while pregnant, I don't think I had a single "flare-up."

He definitely has issues with his latch, which is why our breastfeeding relationship has been tough. I suspect he has an undiagnosed tongue tie that makes it difficult for him to latch on deeply. I have all the symptoms of Reynaud's - burning after pumping/feeding, and nipples that turn white and purple. I also had several episodes before getting pregnant and while pregnant where my nipples got cold and burned something awful. I never realized there was a name for it!

Oh weird, I didn't know you could get it in your nipples! I have it in my fingers and toes. I know you can get it in your nose too.

I also have it and have since college. People are always commenting on my white or purple fingers and toes. The slightest temperature dip does me in. I can't feel my fingertips for most of the winter. My nipples are also very sensitive and I get those painful flashes. It definitely has gotten in the way of breastfeeding and the LC mentioned it as an obstacle back in the hospital.
renbee, I'm so with you on being fed up with nursing. Two weeks ago I decided that I was going to be done, but then a nasty upper respiratory virus hit our entire family and I decided that I had to ride it out a little longer. She's on antibiotics for her first ear infection, so I'm going to continue until she's totally over it. The fact that our LOs have gotten this much breastmilk for this long is fantastic and still a great benefit, even though we have to supplement with formula.
My husbands grandmother passed away Now I have to decided to go or not. It's 16 hour drive we could do in two days. Would you do it?
In my opinion, it depends on how close you were to her and how important it is to your H. It is doable, but potentially very stressful. We did a 6.5 hour road trip with our 3 and it was miserable.
Thanks for the advice and support. I was not close to her. She was his last living grandparent:( he seems to be taking it a little harder than I would have thought since they weren't close. I am going to give him a little time to process before deciding. We have a few daus to decide. I looked at flights so that an option too.

Yes! I have been proud that I have powered through this long, even with all our issues. You should be proud too!! My supply has definitely dipped even further so I don't know if he's getting that much milk anymore, it's more for comfort. As much as I want to wean him I will also be so sad when I do. But I go back to work in two weeks and it's just not going to be worth it to spend the time pumping to get so little.

Sorry for your loss. I'm actualltly making a 16 hour drive to visit family in 2 weeks. We did it when DD1 was about 2 months and it went fine. Also DD1 made the trip with my parents a few months ago and she did well. We plan to leave around bedtime so they should sleep for most of the trip. Just my two cents.

Within a year, it will look very different. Maybe not like it did pre-baby, but the stretch marks will fade and your skin unstretches to some extent.
PDQ because I may delete this later. But full disclosure, this is what I look like now even after losing all the weight.
The scar above my belly button is from having my appendix removed 10 years ago, so that was already there. Skin and muscles are loose, linea nigra is still dark, my belly button looks like a butt hole from being turned inside out and stretched (plus the linea nigra colored my whole belly button too), and covered in stretch marks. Only a few stretch marks are light purple, most have only been white.
jags8 I think your belly looks amazing girl! Mine has bright bright red stretch marks all over it. Seriously it looks like a tiger attacked me or something. I really hope they fade but if they don't - oh well. Never showed my stomach before anyway.

jags8 you look great. And your ring is gorgeous!! It took nine months for our bodies to change during pregnancy, so let's give ourselves at least nine months to change back!!
My belly looks decent, despite being twenty pounds overweight. My problem is that as soon as I gave birth my thighs and butt grew ten sizes (not really, but it feels like it). I've read that we're designed to store weight there to help make milk, so I feel like I'm fighting an uphill battle to lose it while breastfeeding.
I bounced back fairly well after the first two. It was difficult with the third and extremely difficult with the fourth, but I always bounced back. I fear the fifth has done my lower half in and I am now destined to look like so many women I know that have had a lot of kids. Plus I'm old and my metabolism sucks now. I'd have to workout daily to get this weight off and with five kids, who has time for that??
Here jags8, maybe this will make you feel better. PDQ, can't even believe I'm posting this but jags8 made me feel brave. It's actually even worse below where my pants hit.
Thanks ladies, you're sweet! But really I just wanted to show you that losing all the weight doesn't mean you are magically going to have your bodies back. So don't be hard on yourselves for not dropping all the weight.
creepyeyeball thank you! DH picked it out all on his own! I just told him I wanted princess cut with a halo, white gold.
Between babies 2 and 3 (a seven year gap) my stretch marks all but disappeared. I only noticed them if I was really looking. I don't remember exactly when, maybe after 2/3 years.
Anyone else's LO have crazy cradle cap or whatever they call it? It's really bad all of a sudden. I've been putting baby oil on the bad patches but it hasn't been much help.
