So there are mega furniture sales this weekend and we are going to take advantage since we basically need everything. Like literally all we own is one bed without a headboard and TVs and we are moving into a 4 bedroom house. Some questions about the nursery, which we finally get to do!!!
LO's new room is around 12 by 12.
1. What large pieces do you have in the room (crib, dresser/changing table, etc) 2. Did you buy a crib conversion kit? To a toddler bed or just to the full? 3. Do you think that the pieces need to come from the same collection? Like can I do a crib from one collection and a dresser from another? The crib doesn't have handles so it seems like it would work, but am I missing something. 4. Where did you get your furniture?

We have a crib, dresser, and bookshelf. Oh, and a La-Z-Boy type rocker We did buy a crib conversion kit but our plan is to move DD1 to a twin bed and it remains to be seen if we will use the conversion kit for DD2. I did buy our crib and dresser from the same collection but I don't think it's a must or anything. We got our crib, crib mattress, and dresser at a local furniture store (Munire brand) and our bookshelf at Target. The rocker was gifted to us from my parents and was purchased at a local baby store.

In J's room is his crib, dresser, changing table, bookshelf, and a rocking chair.
We didn't buy the conversion kit yet, but probably will in the future. A friend gave us her kids' toddler bed, so J will eventually be in that.
Pieces definitely don't need to come from the same collection! The crib and changing table did (I think?), but the dresser and bookshelf did not. Just did them all in the same computer.
Crib and changing table came from Babies R Us, the dresser is from Shopko, bookshelf and rocker are from Target.
#1 got a full size bed and we'll convert the crib to another full size when she's ready. Depending on space we may or may not do the toddler bed part. We skipped it with #1.
Our nursery is smaller than yours... And has no closet! Here's what we did:
1. What large pieces do you have in the room (crib, dresser/changing table, etc) Ikea Hemnes Dresser (highly recommend), a crib that was given to us as a hand-me-down, one tall open shelved cabinet (for shoes, hats, toys, and other stuff), one nightstand that has a shelf and a drawer - we keep his books on this, a glider and an ottoman.
2. Did you buy a crib conversion kit? To a toddler bed or just to the full? Nope
3. Do you think that the pieces need to come from the same collection? Like can I do a crib from one collection and a dresser from another? The crib doesn't have handles [/b]so it seems like it would work, but am I missing something.None of our stuff is from any matching sets and it all looks awesome together. I seriously love our nursery and everyone always compliments it.
4. Where did you get your furniture?A combination of ikea (dresser), hand-me-down (crib), vintage (nightstand from DH's grandmother), and Buy Buy Baby (glider)

1. What large pieces do you have in the room (crib, dresser/changing table, etc) the kids will have to share when A moves out of our room, so crib, toddler bed, bookshelf, kid armchair, dresser 2. Did you buy a crib conversion kit? To a toddler bed or just to the full? The crib we got came with one, but we had to buy a toddler bed for DS anyway since they will share. 3. Do you think that the pieces need to come from the same collection? Like can I do a crib from one collection and a dresser from another? The crib doesn't have handles so it seems like it would work, but am I missing something. We got our crib and dresser together for DS, then got the bookshelf and toddler bed separately and it all looks great together. 4. Where did you get your furniture? Crib/dresser form overstock, toddler bed from Walmart, bookshelf form target, kid armchair is a hand-me-down pottery barn one. It still has my niece's name embroidered on it. I need to decide if I can put a patch on it or if I want to spend the money in a new cover.

We have a convertible crib, changing table, dresser, and glider/ottoman. Ours are not from the same collection but match pretty perfectly. The crib is black cherry from Delta and the other furniture is espresso (Storkcraft and the glider is Dutailier.) We didn't need a crib conversion kit. Everything we need to convert it was included. However, we probably never will convert since the boys got bunk beds and K is now the 3rd kid to use it. It's really dinged and banged up after 3 moves and the boys using it. We got everything from Target, except for the Glider was from BRU.
LO is in our room. I can't wait to do a nursery for him in the near future. But our master is pretty big we have his crib a bookshelf and a wardrobe for his clothes. His bed does convert to a toddler and than a full. My in-laws bought us his crib at Target. The other furniture is from Ikea. Happy shopping!

1. What large pieces do you have in the room (crib, dresser/changing table, etc) D's room is small so we have a crib, dresser that doubles as a changing table, glider and cube shelving for books and toys.
2. Did you buy a crib conversion kit? To a toddler bed or just to the full? Crib just converts to a toddler bed.
3. Do you think that the pieces need to come from the same collection? Like can I do a crib from one collection and a dresser from another? Nope. You can mix and match and I actually prefer it that way.
4. Where did you get your furniture? Crib was new from Target. Dresser was from a consignment shop and we painted for DD and repainted for DS. Glider was second hand as well.

1. What large pieces do you have in the room (crib, dresser/changing table, etc) We have a crib, dresser with changing topper on it, small bookshelf and a glider rocker/ottoman
2. Did you buy a crib conversion kit? To a toddler bed or just to the full? We added the toddler rail converter to our registry and got it as a gift.
3. Do you think that the pieces need to come from the same collection? Like can I do a crib from one collection and a dresser from another? The crib doesn't have handles so it seems like it would work, but am I missing something. Nope. I almost bought an ikea dresser but decided just to see if someone would buy the matching one for us.
4. Where did you get your furniture? Everything but the bookshelf is from BRU and I would not recommend them as the crib arrived broken and the dresser was the wrong one, and it was a nightmare on elm street to get them replaced. The bookshelf is from ikea.

For the cover, keep an eye out for sales. I got Js cover for around $35 with the monogram during a 20% off sale in store.

1. What large pieces do you have in the room (crib, dresser/changing table, etc): Two cribs, two 3-drawer dressers (one is a changing table), large rocker with ottoman, and a side table
2. Did you buy a crib conversion kit? To a toddler bed or just to the full? Yes. Ain't nobody got time to be buying different beds.
3. Do you think that the pieces need to come from the same collection? Like can I do a crib from one collection and a dresser from another? The crib doesn't have handles so it seems like it would work, but am I missing something. I have CDO (it's like OCD, except the letters are in order, as they should be)... so the cribs and dressers are the same collection from Target. I was actually checking Targets in other states where I had family in order to find matching furniture. The chair was custom from BBB. The side table is from Ikea... but it matches the cribs and dressers almost exactly. Crazy coincidence.
4. Where did you get your furniture? See above. I found the cribs and dressers on clearance. Spent about $500 total on all 4 pieces.
