Is this something any of you are getting/ have had done? Being 35, I'll be "advanced maternal aged" and thus a qualified candidate by my insurance. I'm wavering on whether or not to have it done.
If you are or have in the past, how did you decide? Did insurance cover all of it? If not, how much was out-of-pocket? What was your experience with the results? Did it or do you think it will give you peace of mind? Which test brand will you/ did you use?

I am 31, but I would be interested in doing a test for peace of mind. I will have to see what the out-of-pocket cost is. If I do it, I will use whichever test brand is offered by my OB's office.
I did it last time even though I didn't have risk factors. My OB offers it to everyone and insurance covers it. It did give me peace of mind, especially since my ultrasounds had some markers for hydrocephalus (LO was born perfect!) I think if I hadn't had the testing it would have freaked me out more. I'll be AMA by a few days when I deliver this baby and am getting all the associated tests and extra ultrasounds - that's one of the perks, right?!?!
I will be getting it done. AMA also so will be covered by insurance. Essentially just looks for chromosomal abnormalities- mainly trisomy 13,18, and 21. Can also look for a few other chromosomal problems, but not advertised that way. Can also find out sex if you choose. I have been researching a lot because in Europe they also have the ability to blood type off of it which would be helpful in my situation(I have abnormal antibodies which could cause anemia depending on babies blood genotype). My OB still recommends a NT scan in addition since the NT can pick up other abnormalities not detected by the blood work.
