Today is a big day for us! Our listing agent comes by and takes pictures for our listing hoping that goes up tomorrow or Thursday at the latest! It has been a lot of hard work but our house looks wonderful so praying someone wants to buy it!
I have my bi weekly appt today which is during the listing appt of course but I'm sure my DH can handle it. I'm praying one of these boys have gone head down!!!

It's funny...last time, I was so ready for DD to come out *a little* earlier than 40 weeks. I was giving H some nightly lovin', eating certain foods, walking around a lot, etc. I called the advice line regularly to see if any of my symptoms indicated/would have them let me go to the hospital. This time, I'm hoping LO stays in until induction date (which will still be technically early at 39 weeks).
Looks like I will be getting some dates! I really don't want this one to come out at 42 weeks like her sister. I'm obviously not hoping for early, but on time would be really nice.
It's my birthday! I love birthdays and I'm excited to give myself a nice day! I have an NST today, but I'm determined to make it a positive experience.
Has anyone heard of eating dates at the end of pregnancy? I read about it last time and did it, and I did dilate pretty quickly once I was in labor (although that could have just been a coincidence). I figure it can't hurt. There is a small study that shows it may help, but who knows.
I read this study last time and took it as an excuse to eat a bunch of manchego stuffed dates. IDK whethet it made a difference but it was delicious :-p
I mentioned a few days ago I was having a ton of BH contractions, well they haven't really let up but I had a ob appt today. The Dr seemed kinda concerned. Checked me and I'm dilated to a 1, which could mean nothing of course, but the next time I have more than 4 an hour she wants me to go to the hospital for monitoring and possibly meds. And that's been happening every day for the last 5.5 days now, so I'll probably end up there some time today :/
I hope everything is ok! How far along are you now?

I'll be 33 weeks tomorrow.

That sounds freakin' delicious!! I think if I go the dates route, I'm totally doing it stuffed with manchego!
So happy to hear your NST was squeezed in and all is well pttomato!!
hrushka - That's the only drawback to Zulily I've sold a few things on eBay - at least to break even since the items aren't returnable. Everyone IRL I've asked re when to start buying nursing bras (b/c I'm not sure how much bigger my boobs will be once my milk comes in either), have all given me mixed reviews - great! Some grew a few cup sizes, some didn't at all. I've been eyeing bras online with overlapping cup sizes (i.e.: b/c, dd/e, etc). Of course the ones I seem to like are never available in my size - ugh! The two I picked up over the weekend were from Walmart. One was super comfy around the band and cup areas but the straps were digging into my shoulders a bit. My torso is a little long so some bras are kind of short on me - even at the longest strap adjustment. The other bra was HUGE - like 2 cup sizes too big even though they were tagged the same size. FX we find some that will work out!
Thanks for the thoughts on my ultrasound today! It all ended well, but holy Hera it was a bit stressful.
Placenta: Moved! It had to be more than 1 cm and I'm now at 1.5 cm. Perfect, perfect.
Baby size: Effing nightmare. So, I was told the baby was small last time, but I never saw any numbers and no one was seriously warning me beyond "Okay, the baby is small - just so you know."
This time, I paid attention to the percentiles. Abdomen was 20%; femur, humerus, BPD were all between 4 and 9%; and the worst of all was the head circumference reading less than 2.5%. The tech was spending a tremendous amount of time measuring the head and looking at the ventricles. I went in the bathroom at one point to get ready for the vaginal portion and I heard them discussing it. I was seriously panicking.
Doctor breezed in after all the measurements were done and lead with "So everything looks great!" I was like "BUT THE BRAIN!!!" That's when she tells me that the program used by the office tends to really underestimate percentages. Most of the doctors there don't use them as a guide and instead look at the 50th percentiles for each week of gestation.
All my measurements are around 30-32 weeks, with my actual gestational age being 33 weeks. She says as long as they are within 2-3 weeks, she's not concerned. Moreso, she said that I've grown at a steady rate since my last growth ultrasound and feels all the measurements together are pointing to simply a smaller baby. She said to expect something more like a 6 lber instead of an 8 lber. Given that both my husband and I are small (husband is 5'5'" and I'm 5'4'"), she's not surprised. I should keep watching my fundal height and if it drops off, then I'll be sent back. But for now, things are okay.
joy I'm glad your u/s went well, I would be nervous too!
I've been MIA for a while. Friday I caught a cold so I was in bed all weekend for the most part. MH painted the nursery and I'm in love! I'll AW pictures once the room is put together, right now there's just a bed in there!
Tomorrow I go back to my OB for a BPP and every week until delivery. Such a pain in the ass but it's worth it in the end. Has anyone had these before?
Our manager is moving his office to my location so who knows how much free internet time I have but I've been lurking!
That's great news joy! I am so happy that the placenta has moved for you! I am sorry about the stress on the baby. I am sure the dr was right in that the baby is just small.

I am a big believer in EPO to help soften the cervix. I definitely think it helped me with both of my deliveries so far
Can you tell me more about this? I'm currently 35w1d, which is still early I know, but was in L&D for 16hrs over the weekend. Last Friday at my ob appt I was 2cm dilated and about 30% effaced. When I was in the hospital Saturday, I dilated to 3cm and was contracting regularly, but no change in cervix. I want baby to bake as long as he needs to..but now I'm afraid I'll still stall out on D-Day and be stuck for hours on end because my cervix is unruly.
In your case I definitely wouldn't touch EPO until 38 weeks, but my MW recommendation is to take 2 capsules by mouth and put one as far up by your cervix as you can each day. Just make sure you take it vaginally at night and wear a liner bc it will leak and it's kind of funky smelling stuff.

I didn't do the dates or EPO, but I did drink the raspberry leaf tea - no clue if it did anything. dc2london I'd also be interested in hearing more about using EPO.
I usually start taking EPO at 37 weeks. My 2 boys were born at 38 weeks and I had very easy deliveries and no tearing. I can't say, obviously, if the EPO made a difference for sure, but it certainly didn't hurt.
I have read recently that raspberry leaf tea can actually help shorten PP bleeding so I am going to incorporate that this time, too, bc why not?

shehulk723, @suesposa I hope the PTL scares come to nothing (but not so much nothing that you're stuck facing a 42 week induction). Also sorry about needing a new car battery shehulk723.
joy I am so sorry for the stress over your peanut, but so excited to hear the news was all positive in the end. Yay for an August baby instead of a July one!

shehulk723 - I'm curious to see if my doctor gives the same advice as yours, since I've also been dealing with the never-ending BH. Can you tell me what yours are like? Are they consistent or just close together? Any pain or just discomfort/tightening? Any pelvic pressure or other symptoms?
On one hand, I don't want to ignore any red flags, but on the other.... if I had rushed to my doctor's office or L&D whenever I've had 4 or more BH in an hour, I would have been there several times already....
Hey everyone! We are on vacation and have the world's slowest/worst WiFi and terrible cell service, but I thought I'd pop in and say hi.
So far our trip is going well, but I have had such horrible acid reflux the last few days. I took a zantac this morning and so far it seems to be helping. It's so strange that I have completely different pregnancy symptoms this time around!

Mine are occasionally consistent haha. I'll have them every 5 minutes for an hour, then they'll start fading and become irregular again. It feels like tightening and pressure and when I touch it, my whole belly is hard. I also get a lot of pressure in my head. It feels like my blood pressure is spiking.
Wooooooo. I've been toying with the idea of replacing my husband's wedding band. He lost it five years ago; this was ~ 2 months after we got married. He felt TERRIBLE about it. I said I'd replace it when I could.
I scoped one out on Blue Nile a few weeks ago.
I got an email today with a coupon for $150 off Blue Nile.
youdontsay BPPs are just an ultrasound to check on the baby. They measure blood flow in the cord and the brain, check fluid levels, look for movement (both small movements like fingers and larger whole body movements), and watch for baby to do practice breathing for 30 seconds. The baby will get a score out of 8 points. In my experience, it's hardest to catch the baby breathing and sometimes you just sit and wait until he or she breathes. But it's a lot of fun time to watch your little one!

Thanks! I have nothing to compare it to, but my PP bleeding was not bad at all after doing the tea.

Thanks - I think at most I've had them every 8-10 minutes for an hour, but then I won't get one for 20 min, etc, and they'll go away at some point, but I've definitely had up to 6-8 in an hour. Same as far as my whole belly getting hard and I kinda feel a little sick right when one is starting. Fx that these are just an annoyance for both of us!!!

So how much EPO? A quick google showed me capsule of 500 mg up to capsules of 1500 mg....
She said anything up to 2,000 mg orally per day. Vaginally it doesn't really matter how much. I get the capsules from Trader Joe's which are 1,000 mg each, and I take 2 daily by mouth
