joy, that sounds like a nerve wracking experience! FWIW, my daughter was born at 5 lbs, 14 oz and the only difference was that she needed to get three additional heel pricks to test her blood glucose levels during the first hours after birth. We did have awful days where she would nurse 6+ hours in the course of a day during growth spurts, but she has been incredibly healthy. She went from 10th percentile in weight to 70th percentile. She doubled her birth weight by the time she was two months old. I'm only 5'0" tall and generally (when not pregnant, haha) am pretty thin, but my OB for some reason was scaring us into thinking we'd have a larger baby for my size (meaning 7 lbs).

youdontsay I started weekly BPPs a couple of weeks ago. They typically take around 30 minutes, but it can vary if your baby is being cooperative or not. Limb movement tends to be the thing that's hardest for me to get, but my US tech person recommended eating a little something about 30 minutes prior to help baby get moving, and that's helped me.

Woo! I'm glad to hear that your daughter is doing so well!
I was a peanut when I was born (something over 6 lbs) so I'm not surprised, but I was completely scared by the less than 2.5% for the head coupled with how long the tech checked out the brain and their conversation while I was in the bathroom. I was like "Oh my god, my kid's brain is not developed."
The MFM definitely made me feel better!
Back to preparing for that whole natural birth thing...
EllieT glad everything is ok! shehulk723 I hope the BHs let up! kaitkat hope you get an offer soon! joy glad things went well but sorry it was so stressful!!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! DD wandered off on the beach yesterday and we couldn't find her for a few mins. I panicked and of course assumed she was either in the water or someone has taken her. We found her with a lady who was taking her to the life guard tower. Worst minutes of my life!! In other news, looks like my SIL is going to throw me a little shower I'm excited!

I am also 5'0" and came out 5 lbs. 14 oz. (I'm fine). I had a large-for-my-size baby (7 lbs. 3 oz.) and one of my OBs likes to comment that the "big" babies are why I need c-sections. Uh, no, but whatever. She hasn't ever attended a delivery of mine and doesn't know what she's talking about but she likes to talk.
Even coming out over 7 lbs, DD1 also nursed for ages and shot up the percentile charts. She had to catch up to her 6'2" daddy's genes. It is funny that everyone, including me, assumed I would have these cute petite girls and instead I have these gorgeous tall kids. I guess there's still a chance for DD3, although if she doesn't go through a size a month or faster initially I will be one confused mom.
Thanks for all the well wishes! Contractions are showing up on the monitor but they're not changing my cervix. I'm plenty hydrated so they just told me to keep doing what I'm doing. It's going to be a rough 6 weeks.

All I have to add is...I'm not excited for the marathon nursing session days. Well, I'm hopeful that breastfeeding works this time (since you never know!), but those days were very tiring.
Well babies are doing good. I'm carrying around over ten pounds of baby which is more baby than I have ever carried (DD was 7pounds) and measuring 38 weeks which is bigger than I have ever measured DD was born at 37 weeks it's all so crazy to me!!

Can someone please slow time down? I'm not ready for us to have full term outside babies. Thanks.
H is out of town again. Kids are enjoying hibachi leftovers for dinner. I look like the best in their eye when I'm really doing the least amount of work! Win!

And joy I'm so happy your appointment went well! I'm super creepy and had it in my planner as "joy appt today" which is weird 1. Because stalker 2. Because H asked why I had to focus on having a joyful day lol

I hope that they settle down and you can get some rest, shehulk723!

I've got 24 days, coffeequeen14. Tweeeeeeenty-fooooour daaaaays! How is this possible? I think she's going to make it
The last two weeks at work have been brutal. So now I'm heading to DC tomorrow night-Friday to help with a meeting/demo because there's just no way the person scheduled it can do it on his own. I'm tired.

It's often different the second time around (of course no guarantees). My pediatrician explained that your body tends to make enough milk for a much older baby right off the bat. DD1 was a marathon nurser who would sometimes give me only 15 minute breaks between hour and a half sessions or more. DD2 ate every 3 hours during the day almost from the get-go and didn't have a growth spurt until 6 months. I mean, she had spurts of growth, but she never nursed extra to get them.

Interesting! Good to know. Haha, I'm just preparing mentally for anything.
Huh, gratefulgirl,I never knew that! I had really problematic oversupply and forceful letdown with DS1 and was never quite able to settle it down. With DS2 I was able to get it under control and make things easier on him and me, but he also had a proper latch from the beginning. I still wonder whether DS1's lip tie wasn't causing problems with his latch.
Truly, the leaking with DS1 was ridiculous. I had to go to bed with a nursing pad, and a folded up burp cloth in each cup of my sleep bra, AND sleep on a folded up towel. But I was a FTM and didn't realize that wasn't the norm.
I'm really hoping second time breastfeeding is easier. First time was a nightmare there was so much pressure on me from nurses and doctors to breastfeed I was having so much anxiety. I just want to be able to try this time on my own and reach out for help when needed kind of thing
