housecarder despite DH thinking I'm overreacting to "the way his parents do things" and that I am "too hard on them", I don't think he'd actually care who watched DD if all things were equal. But his parents live 10 min away and mine are 40 min away. With DD I had contractions for 2 hours before deciding it was the real thing, and we left for the hospital an hour after that. He does not remember this, and is hung up on thinking I will want to go to the hospital immediately because it was 'so quick' last time. IMO it's NBD to stick DD in the car, it'll take us 20 min to get to the hospital and my parents 30 min, that would be quicker than waiting for his parents anyway.
jenn83, re exercise: When I went to my 6 week checkup, my midwife said I was able to run and could have been running anyway before my appointment. I personally will wait until my checkup again for more vigorous exercise just to make sure all is healed properly, but since I have an older kid, I certainly won't be resting. I'll definitely be out walking and chasing him around.
Big hugs for everyone who is pretty much not dilated at all and is frustrated. That's one good thing about having a practice who doesn't do cervical checks until 40 or 41 weeks. I have no clue what I am (I'm assuming I'm nothing in all aspects though), and that makes me much calmer. And FWIW, I had zero signs of labor before my son was born and then one day, I was in labor, and he was born not too long afterwards.
I'm so frustrated with work at the moment. I've been waiting for my temporary replacement to start so that I can get in and train her before baby comes, and her background was taking forever to clear so her start date kept getting pushed back. When my manager sent me an email letting me know it was being pushed back from Tuesday to later on in the week I told her that I would most likely not be able to make it into the office because I had things going on either in or close to home every other day, but I could do the training via phone and Skype. She responded with an email that has really rubbed me the wrong way since I received it, and just made me feel really crappy. Said something like "I'm disappointed you can't make it into the office, even for a few hours, all employees are expected to be available during normal business hours, not being available to go into the office for 3 consecutive days is cause for concern, etc." I'm sorry that I have weekly doctors appointments because I'm 38 WEEKS PREGNANT, and that I have other things going on related to the move, but I work from home full time so even with certain things going on in my life I'm still available during "normal work hours". Not to mention I've been so laid back and gone along with whatever they've asked me to do over the past year, regardless of if I felt overwhelmed or stressed as a result of it. She just came off as so uncaring and unsupportive when I've done everything I've been asked to do and can't help that I have appointments so close to my due date. I'm so ready to go on leave now after this
mcktymck, Your boss has had months to get a person in place for you to train.
Being an introvert who needs to recharge her batteries sucks. I haven't been able to because first we had the busy season with the inlaws. Next was starting my weekly appointments early since I also had the sp appointments. Now I have 2 appointments weekly. Really need a break from peopling. lol Hoping I get the break I need sooner rather than later but will probably piss in laws off. At this point I don't care. I need to recharge soon for my own sake.
Also specialist place called to confirm one of my appointments. Took forever to push past my tired anxiety to call back asking if I just had that one appointment or if I also had my NST. Luckily I did because I do have both appointments tomorrow. Why would a place only call to confirm my growth scan but not NST when they have been confirming it weekly.....

mcktymck that sucks about your boss. What if you had the baby right now? Certainly you wouldn't be expected to come in. The one thing she can control (hiring someone) she screwed up. That's on her.

mcktymck, she sucks! You could have gone into labor 2 weeks ago and she'd just have to deal with it because that's now this pregnancy thing works! You should not feel bad.
I only work 3 days a week and have missed every Friday afternoon for the last month because that is the day I have to do my BPPs and they they are all scheduled for like 1 PM at a hospital 35 minutes from work where it takes 10 minutes to park. As far as I'm concerned they just have to STFU and deal with it!
So my OB planned to induce me today until I had the great news from my f/u growth scan that baby grew a whole bunch and it became unnecessary.
Except she apparently forgot to tell the hospital this. I was sound asleep and the phone rang. It was L&D calling to ask me why I am late for my induction.
I'm convinced now that the universe just doesn't want me to sleep ever.

And it is super shitty. How long until you can go off work?
I put in my leave start for the 20th, so just have to get through a few more days! I've decided she's an awful person. My replacement called me this morning saying her fibromyalgia is acting up so she's really hurting and going to be late getting to the office. I told her I had no problem doing the training via phone and Skype so that she could stay home, but apparently she spoke with my boss and she's adamant about us going into the office. Both of us have long commutes and are hurting and she's pulling this shit and making us go in. Such bs.
