Is the start of these threads getting later because everyone is sleeping in? I'm certainly not! This regression is kicking my ass. Some things I've read said not to sleep train during it, but I'm losing my mind. It's worse than newborn stage. F has had huge developments in the last week so I know that's why. He all of a sudden loves solids but that has led to recurring constipation. I've started giving him prunes but he's still having a hard time. He also started crawling but it seems like he doesn't enjoy it and is now really trying to stand and walk instead. Which means he wants me to hold him in the standing position all day long.
hovenb, sorry for the sleep issues I'm definitely not sleeping in, though A went back to sleep after her 5 a.m. wakeup, so when I got her at 6:30, she was a total teenager about it. For F's standing desires, do you have anything he can hold onto to give yourself a break? Like a push walker or even a cardboard box? Since A's cruising, we'll often make a 'course' for her with the ottoman, chairs, boxes, etc.
Bleh, tired. Teething is so much fun. Our daughter also has discovered the joys of smashing raspberries. She looked like a baby vampire last night, and our kitchen was a crime scene.
I can't wait to move. I'm home sick today, since Dani's "light cold" is a full blown plague for my immune system. I wasn't about to keep Dani home with me, so I brought her to school... 30 min from my house. Once we move, my job and her school will both be within 10 min of our house. I'm not sick often, but it will be glorious to be able to drop her off and go back home to sleep, without having an hour+ round trip back to my bed.

I'd love to work 10 minutes from home but it would imply living in the city and that shipped has sailed for us.

I've had a bug bite on my leg since MOnday and it's not going away. I think it's a spider bite or I was stung by something nasty It's making me anxious. I hate bugs.
Callie is getting so close to walking unassisted. She wants to and you can see the wheels turning in her head on how she is going to do it but then she gives up and plops back down. I feel it's coming soon though!
I'm in a good mood today. Yesterday I adulted and got the kids health insurance stuff together and made Henry a well check for tomorrow, so we can acquaint ourselves with where to go and who to see. Then, last night when I got into bed, DH was acting weird. He hands me this envelope and tells me it's for me.
Inside was a check made out to him for $1000. His work said they wanted to recognize him for doing well and gave him a bonus! I'm so proud of him for making this move and Getting involved with a company that is taking care of him.
Of course my mind is spinning with possibilities, but it'll either go towards home repairs (his choice- our home needs A LOT of work) or paying off a debt - my choice.

The plague hit our house too. DH has a fever. I came *thisclose* to puking on Elle during a diaper change but caught it in my hands with only a little getting on the carpet. That was fun to clean up.
I'm also not sleeping. Last night it took me 2 hours to fall asleep, and the night before I only slept 2 hours the whole night. Is there a 10 month mom regression?
Our house closes next week and I'm starting to freak about finishing the packing and being homeless after that.

He does have a walker or stools, but it's more fun to be held by mommy! he is also in separation anxiety phase so it is all rolled into a mess.

As daycare is 3 minutes from home though!
Hope you'll feel better soon!!!
Right now DH works about 3 miles from our current house, so we're basically swapping commutes. He isn't thrilled about it, but it's for the best in the long run. My 30 min commute, plus traffic, plus daycare drop-off/pickup, leaves me barely any time at home to do anything. I'm up at 5:30 each morning, and home around 6:30 each night, Mon-Fri. It's finally starting to wear on me, so I'm counting the days until we move at this point. I feel badly that DH will be adding commuting time to his already 10-12 hour days, but it's the lesser of two evils.
Sorry everyone is sick. ugotstarbucked, that plague sounds awful! So many get-better-soon vibes!
hovenb, Cal crawled one day and the next he was ALL about climbing/standing. I flipped his moses basket over and surrounded it with pillows, he would just crawl back and forth over it all day. Then we also made sure there were a lot of boxes etc. around like cowplanet said. I would place toys on top of them to keep his interest. Milestones are cute and amazing for one minute, and pretty much crazy annoying after that
AFM, MIL has now decided that since we won't be around on Saturday (H told her we were busy the whole day/night) that she's showing up tonight and then leaving Saturday morning. She and her new BF are staying with us and H is pissed. We've never met the guy and H is offended that his mom thinks it's okay to spend the night here with him. I am not at all shocked at her antics, I have passed annoyed and gone straight to IDGAF.

We did the same thing when we sold our old house. SO was 7 minutes from work but I had a 1h15 commute (!!!!!!!). He now drives 20 minutes where I can take a bus to the train station

DH is taking both girls for haircuts today. I hope a) he doesn't chop off all of DD1's hair and b) takes lots of pictures of DD2's first "real" haircut. (I've cut her hair twice already.) I'm trying not to be too jealous since the whole point of him SAH for a few months is to bond with the girls.
charliefox that's a good idea! I'll have to set up a jungle gym for him. Sorry about your MiL. She was just there too!
I really am not enjoying the fact that now he is a tummy sleeper. I know it's okay at this point, but he buries his mouth into the mattress and hands. It just doesn't look like good airflow.
I've had a lot of heart flutters since giving birth and I saw a doctor about it. They are setting me up for a 48 hour holter monitor. I just now realized that BFing will be a PIA because Finn will just pull at the wires. I'm sure the flutters are normal, but sometimes they last awhile and they are very uncomfortable.

Feel better everyone!
My H's bloodwork came back concerning to the doctor so he has to get his levels rechecked for a third time. Apparently this plague can cause kidney failure. He may need to get IV fluids. I haven't been checked because I'm feeling better but the threat of kidney failure and IV fluids has be concerned.
I still haven't heard from my doctor about J's allergy test results. I was supposed to hear Tuesday. I figured things might be delayed due to the holiday weekend but not this much!
hovenb - I hope everything is okay with the heart flutters. Keep us posted. How is F sleeping these days? Is he on his belly in the dockatot?
eliza040502, I hope YH gets better and his kidneys aren't in trouble!
jessiespano, hmm, necessary home repair vs. debt, that's a toughie. Normally I'd agree with ugotstarbucked about paying down some debt, but that depends on the nature of the home repair (necessary vs. spiffing up a room). If it's something that's going to get worse over time, then I'd take care of that first.
I've finally convinced MH to buy my student loans (he's offered for awhile) and funnel my payback into the mortgage or car loan (rather than his personal profit like he wanted). He kept arguing there was no benefit to himself if he wasn't getting paid back directly with interest. Um, what about paying on some debt principle?? The only thing that got to him was me explaining it would not be emotionally helpful for our marriage if he was my banker. And since he doesn't have a cash flow strain like I do (very different incomes - my share of daycare, medical, and household expenses has killed me over these last 6 months), it's beneficial to the whole household to reroute what would have gone to student loan to our principle debt. I have more "cash flow" going toward that shared debt if I'm not paying off my student loans. That's almost $300 more dollars a month attacking mortgage/car!

Ya Dockatot on his belly, side or back. But when he's done with being on his belly, he just sits up and cries. He also is whining a lot in his sleep. I don't know what's going on. We are in a hotel right now because of my family reunion so maybe it's making it especially bad, but I think I might leave tonight because I just can't handle this anymore.
Oh my goodness about YH...I hope it is a false alarm. How scary.

Ugh, MIL. H was so mad that she decided to stay at our house that he booked her a hotel room. Now I don't have to clean the guest room
Re: heart palpitations, I've dealt with this for years and had a bunch of flare ups for about a year where my heart rate would shoot up for no reason but it always came down on it's own so the doctors weren't too concerned. They never found a cause (other than possibly anxiety). I still get palpitations or chest pain occasionally, and I can't have any caffeine. You probably know more about the medical side of all this than I do, but LMK of you have any questions. I did multiple 24hr holter monitors as well as a 21-day monitor.

I had lots of heart flutters and palpitations for months after having Dani. They turned out to be nothing, and completely went away after I stopped BFing. It took about a month for them to fully go away after weaning. Some of them took my breath away. My dr said they were hormone-related.
I'm having eye issues. I thought it was a rip in my contact of an eyelash but taking my contact out did nothing. It's still burning, red and watery. This should make for an interesting drive home as I have really, really terrible eyesight and don't have my eyeglasses with me.
My commute is horrific lately. With over 100 trains taken out of service unexpectedly and my train line under construction, we decided to pay over $300 for me to park at work. But it seems everyone also has that idea too since my 15 mile drive is taking an average of 1.25 hour. I get home 30 minutes before we start bedtime.
1) Ash Bug was hanging out in his room last night with me and he looked at me, looked at the toy in front of me, then just up and crawled to the toy/me - first time and it was across the room.
2) We moved his crib back upstairs into his room and he slept up there from 9pm - 5:30am (when he needed a bottle then joined us in bed until 8am).
3) I finally called my OB about the pelvic pain I'm having while running. The nurse said that it wasn't normal and she'd consult my OB but they'd likely need to see me to figure out what's up and get things moving.

uclameghan, go Asher! Also, you are now screwed. Welcome!
Just got out of an hour long meeting that could have been done in 10 minutes. Basically, you have 5 people essentially in agreement from the start, but 4 of them just really want to talk, so everyone says the same thing over and over. I tried to stop it at 20 minutes with, "So, it's sounds like we're in agreement and the take away is XYZ." Yeah, didn't work. Everyone had to repeat themselves again. Since #1 and #2 were leading it, I'm thinking they just don't know how to close out a meeting that doesn't take up the full slot. Oy.
AF might finally be moving her arse out of here. Week+half periods are crap. I'm really hoping things straighten out next month, otherwise I'm going to have to change my birth control, and this pill has been the only one that didn't either make me miserable or make me crazy. On the bright side, I haven't had to take any painkillers and vaginismus seems to be gone; both I attribute to switching to a cup. So overlong period is annoying but not hell. Win?
UO: I do not like getting a gift for a Bachelorette party, especially when I'm told we need to choose lingerie and then given the bride's panty size. I hate the word panty as it is! I'm not a prude but EW. I just don't want to choose it for someone else.
