I have guests coming tonight and I am not prepared. Normally hosting is my jam, I'm the hostess with the mostest, and there are tons of delicious things but now I am pregnant, exhausted, and have a touch of background nausea. What is your favorite appetizer or munchie that requires minimal effort?
Anything I can buy from the store. Seriously save yourself the energy and buy some stuff. If you have a trader joes I love so much of their stuff in the frozen section. Lots of different apps and desserts.

I am childish and I don't think I would serve this as an app at a dinner party but... Pigs in a blanket. Hands down my favorite appetizer. It was my only request for my baby shower with DS. Aside from that, I am boring: cheese and crackers, mini meatballs. If I want to get fancy, maybe a Spanish tortilla (it's like egg and potatoe quiche).
Easy: baked Brie (puff pastry, walnuts, cranberries, bake until soft) serve with crackers.
Small dishes of olives and roasted almonds.
I also like the TJs options. They have some puff pastry bites with caramel ilex onions and stuff that are good and easy to just pop in the toaster oven
Hummus/baba ganoush and pita chips
Crudité platter - buy a pre made dip at TJs or grocery store
I was going to say chips and dip or cheese and crackers, but it looks like there are a lot of easy, slightly fancy options. I want to go to a party at ellabee, after seeing her list!

There are lots of mini-meatballs with sauce variations that can be done with frozen/premade meatballs and a crockpot. Those are always popular at potlucks here. Could do Swedish, or Asian, or marinara etc.
Cheese and crackers is a go-to for me. Veggie tray.

Chik-fil-a tray
Bagel bites or if you want it to feel "homemade"... top Ritz crackers with a dollop of pizze sauce, a little shredded mozzarella cheese and a pepperoni. Bake til cheese melts
Veggie platter
Hot pepper jelly dumped over a softened cream cheese block
A can of baby shrimp or crab meat dumped over a softened cream cheese block topped with cocktail sauce
Guacamole, fresh salsa, mango salsa, and chips for the win! Fits with the theme as we're going out for Mexican and this place is stingy with the guac. Thanks for the inspiration peaseblossom55 and I will be bookmarking this thread for my next lazy hostess event!
Oh I remembered one more I like to do. Get small mozzarella balls (or a block and cut into bite side cubes) and cherry tomatoes. Put a tomato and a cube on a toothpick and drizzle the whole platter of them with a balsamic reduction or balsamic+evoo.
If you go to a place like whole foods sometimes they have a pre-mixed mozzeralla ball/evoo/herb mix in near the olive bar. Grab a few of those and a container of cherry tomatoes and it's even quicker/easier.
