Another slow day here today then this weekend we have to catch up on the housework we put off last weekend. Im hoping I can convince DH to make another joanns run so I can get thread for some projects too.
Update from yesterday on DS's eye. Not pink eye. Ended up taking him to the walk in clinic at Walgreens last night. He's covered in bug bites and having an allergic reaction. His right ear is also completely swollen along with his left eye. He looks like he's part of a fight club, my poor baby Anyway nurse recommended lots of benadryl/hydrocortisone and if it's not cleared up by Monday to call her and we'll start oral steroids.
singingsea, I hope DS recovers quickly! I was just thinking about bug spray for our lake trip next month, and I'm not sure what I should use on DD (almost 3) and myself (pregnant). We live in the city and so don't usually encounter lots of bugs.
Work is pretty slow, but I have two calls this afternoon that I have to stick around for. Then DH and I are going out to dinner while my ILs watch DD. We're going to a birthday party tomorrow (friends' son is turning 1) but no other plans for the weekend.
Im actually off this weekend. So tag teaming with dh between bathroom reno and housework. We were supposed to go to my parents for a bonfire/fireworks but the county currently has a fireban in place. So boo to that.
Oh no singingsea! Glad you figured it out but boo to the reaction. Hope he feels better soon!
AFM it's my busy weekend I've been talking about. Busy day at work today then baseball game tonight. Cousin's bachelorette party tomorrow into Sunday. Tomorrow's beach day is currently re-planned as a party at the hotel pool day since there's a good chance of thunderstorms. Hoping pool over beach keeps the swelling in my feet to a minimum because I'm going to be brave (crazy?) and try to wear heels tomorrow night.
We have our neighborhood garage sale today and tomorrow. It's incredibly busy so we are hiding inside all day! Maybe the pool later today if the sun comes out!

The mosquitos are hardcore here and I use deet spray on myself and DS. Make sure you choose a repellent with no more than 10% to 30% concentration of DEET (on the lower side for little ones).
I feel like a bad Mom today. DD got up at 5:50 so I was exhausted. We got coffee this morning and it must have been stronger than I'm used to because it made me feel awful. I just have a short temper from not feeling well and little patience.
She's watching Tinkerbell right now for quiet time, then at 2 we're going on a river cruise with friends. I'm hoping that helps my mood.
Poor DS, I hope he feels better soon singingsea. Went to my workout class this morning and took DS to the park. DH is gonna put the dresser together tonight after we go to a neighborhood flamingo party for a bit.

Thanks, singingsea! Good to know that I don't have to find 100% natural 0% DEET stuff just because I'm PG. I've never been to the Finger Lakes (where we're going), so I have no clue what to expect, but I kind of assume lakeside in August could be mosquito-ville.

Random story. Some friends last year ate a bit of my moms garlic scapes (and by a bit I mean they snacked on them pretty much all day) and apparently when they went camping that weekend had no issues with mosquitoes while the others they camped with couldn't get away from them.
Is this day over yet? The office is empty and my acting boss is being an ass. He counted how many days I have left to justify giving me a file that could take much longer and that shouldn't even be dealt by my team. One more week than my boss is back...
flyakite I admire people that can use birthing centers or have home births but I am way too scared of the 'what ifs' to be one of them.
River cruise was fun. Just got a call from my principal that I'm not covered under FMLA. Duh, I don't know how myself or my secretary didn't catch that when I was filling out my paperwork. I'm only .6 time and only during the school year, so I don't hit the 1250 hours required. Now I have to apply for a Leave of Absence and hope it's approved. I'm also not guaranteed the same exact position back (could be at another building), but my principal doesn't think that's a concern.
I will lose it if I have to go back after 6 weeks.
Went swimming with my kids and one of my son's friends. It was nice I guess. But I get "done" way before the kids do. Now, I'm about to head to bed and tomorrow we're going to a birthday party. ... yay... Oh and Sunday is my unexpected baby shower. I hope it's not too hot on Sunday because idk if there will be AC at my MIL home.
