tmclawchick how did the house inspection go? I'm assuming this was for a place you put on offer on? I might have missed it, but what did you guys decide on?

gingerygirl, finding and landing a job is hard. Sometimes you need all the No's before you find the right one. Keep your head up and keep looking. Have you thought about going to a recruiter for help? It's no money out of your pocket and they can get you more leads!!
A has been sleeping until 7am all week...but decided on my one day to sleep in she would wake up crying at 5:44am. Turns out she had a tough poop (there was some blood in it) so a legit reason to wake up, poor girl. Still a little upset about the extra hour and 16 minutes of sleep I might have had.
Book club today, then lunch with a friend. That's all I've got.
Oh, and I keep trying to find gifs for the bingo thread but not finding anything good, boo.
Ugh, slightly better today but last night was rough. Her fever spiked over 103, then luckily broke and she's been down to 99.5-101 today. We saw the doctor yesterday and she said there's no ear infection or anything, just your standard virus. So we wait it out with Tylenol.
So this should go in the annoying/adorable thread, but don't feel like looking for it. M has started getting excited while eating and just swiping his hands all over his food during meal times! Lol! Was cute, but then not. He just makes a mess! The dog however does not see how this is a problem!

The inspection went pretty well! There are a few little things that will need to be addressed within the first year or so but nothing super major...we're requesting that they address a few items but I think it's reasonable. The house is a 3 BR ranch in the town south of where we are now it's a shorter commute for DH and the neighborhood is super cute...a lot of starter homes/retirees, which is great for us! We're keeping DS at his current elementary school but it's only a 10 minute drive to get there so that's totally doable. I'm excited!
So I just remembered an encounter I had in an elevator on the way to the doctor yesterday, and I'm not sure what to make of it.
Old guy starts talking to Ida (who's in the stroller.) He comments on her big thighs. Yes, my baby's got chunky legs. Then he says, "Well good thing you've got your dad's face! Hahaha."
Like...wut? Are you calling me ugly? Cause that's not cool. Or you think she's a boy and thank goodness she has a boy face to offset big thighs? Whatever he meant, I vote uncalled for.
And I'm starting to get tired of people commenting on her legs. At what age will observations on my daughter's body shape/size no longer be socially acceptable? I'm feeling mama bear, if you can't tell.

carabassa I've been told that they hope DD has DH's genes. I must've looked offended because then they qualified, "like for body structure." LOL ok. That makes me feel better. People are dicks man.
I have my first work trip coming up next week so that will be interesting. And the weirdest thing happened. DD is napping and DS put himself in bed and told me to leave him alone, he needs some quiet time. EXCELLENT IDEA!
carabassa such an odd comment. People are jerks for sure. I honestly don't understand people's obsession with trying to show who babies look like. I think it's innocent enough, to try to connect maybe or conversation starters (odd at that). I recently had someone say M must look like his daddy, like she could 'see a little bit of me in him, but he must look like his daddy'. I told her in fact he is adopted and actually looks like his mother. I wasn't offended, but I don't know why people do that. Who cares?!?

Past 3 days M has been fighting going down for his naps on his own. He is currently breaking my heart with his screams when I go to check on him after 8-10 minutes he calms immediately if I pick him up (I know ferber says no picking up but it feels more comfortable for me). And as soon as I lay him down he red face/hold your breath crying. Heart breaking. Doesn't help DS1 asking me to 'do something about your son'. I'm trying. Sigh.

redandblue I'm sorry you're having a hard time! It always seems way worse when there are people around annoyed by the crying. I always feel pressure to make it stop, when if I was alone, it'd be less stressful.
Is anyone else LO still in the bucket seat? DS is still in it and is .5 inches from maxing out on height. When we buy the new seat, DD (28 months) will get the new one and DS will get hers.
I'm so reluctant to pull the trigger and buy another convertible. I have been staring at the Diono RXT online for months, tried it out in my vehicle recently and love it but still can't seem to commit. It's my top choice for seats. But, I feel stupid admiting this - I've only done Peg seats so far, a bucket and convertible, and I'm kind of a sucker for the familiar. Someone tell me it's ok to buy a different brand.
RandomName We're still in a bucket seat over here.
I read Amazon is having deals on carseats for Prime Day next week, maybe you'll be able to get a good deal on a Peg! If not it's ok to go with a different brand. We love our Graco infant seat but think we're going with Chicco Nextfit for the convertible.
RandomName totally okay to with a different brand! We have a Britax and a Diono Pacifica. I like the Diono a bit better because it's not quite as bulky as the Britax. Good tip about amazon prime day on the 12th.

Almost went crazy at the cashier at the grocery store. I bought something that has a price tag for 1.99 with a limit of 6 but you had to use the store coupon. No biggie. Normally I have the coupons already loaded onto my grocery store gas card but didn't know this was a deal. But the cashiers are really good about finding the coupon for me. This one said the coupons are right there pointing to where she keeps them on get line. She was to lazy to get it for me I guess. Then the coupon was not in there. So of course it's mislabeled. I told her that the label must be wrong and that I got it at an end cap and not the aisle. She doesn't communicate this to the person doing price check and do of course they tell me I'm wrong about the price. I didn't want to cause a huge scene especially since the kids were cranky and there was a lone behind me. But i wheeled my kids to the end cap and there happened to be a mgr right there and I showed him and got my refund.
I have a big customer service background and that cashier was just rude. I almost want to call and complain.
