Happy weekend!!!!!
The art show for the summer MFA students that I curated opened last night. It went really well— lots of people at the opening, a lot who weren't directly associated with the school, which was good. And, I'm biased of course, but I think the shoe looked really good, and other, less biased people told me that too. :-) Also, I led a group critique with the students in the show, of their installed work prior to the opening, and it felt super productive, so that was good. And we had really good rosé at the opening, so that was also a win.
Today has been good. Poppy has recovered from HFM. Thankfully, it was a mild case. I got a decent workout in this morning, picked some stuff up at the farmers market, and just hung out with P. MH is bro-ing out with his bet friend tonight, so P and I had a girls' night. That meant that we spent some time listening to Paula Abdul, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, etc and giggly dancing. Also, P recently became super into a stuffed animal cat that one of my friends made for her, but she calls it "dog," so we over and over had a dialogue in which she said "dog." And I said, "cat. Meow." And she said, "dog."
RandomName, YES, in my 20's weekends were also for dancing and week nights were for bands and pubs. How times have changed.
Also, Poppy is still in the bucket seat. At nine months she was a little over 16lbs and I can't remember how tall, but nowhere near approaching 30+ inches, so she is solidly still in the range for her seat, but I know that guidelines now state to move them out at a year so I have to figure out a convertible soon. No idea what to get. We have a really old small SUV so I don't think that size is an issue. Need to stalk sales.
ampaints, thank you for doing the Fitbit groups. I feel like it's the only way I've been able to be even tangentially connected for the past 2 weeks.
runningmommy519, I hope everything goes well with E's eye appointment. Whatever happens, it's good that it's being addressed pretty early on.
aydee, how was the bday party?
gingerygirl, it's just messed up that you have to fine a SECOND job to support yourself and your son. We need a living wage.
carabassa, hope Ida is on the mend!
tmclawchick, the new house sounds awesome!
