Hey STMs ....
1. How accurate was your 36w size ultrasound? I was told he's 7.5lbs already and I know some people end up being 2 pounds off and some dead on. What was your experience?
2. That feeling of wicked pressure on your lower pelvis- did that last weeks or just days before you gave birth? I do NOT have that feeling yet so I'm just curious when I do get it how long it'll last.

I don't get a late ultrasound unless something is wrong, so no experience here.

Never had it with either kid. DD1 was actually properly positioned but I don't think she was that low. DD2 was posterior and oddly positioned so she wasn't putting that much pressure on.
1. I have only had one late ultrasound (with DD2) at 36w6d. They said she was 7 lbs 6 oz and she was born 3 days later weighing 7 lbs 11 oz, so pretty close for me.
2. I've had that pressure with my second and third pregnancies since before third tri even started. I carried them both VERY low. My doctor had a hard time checking my cervix yesterday because her head was pressed against it so hard. Only had it at the very end with DD1.
1. I had an ultrasound somewhere between 36 and 37 weeks with ds1. They said he was 6 lbs 13 oz at that time. He was born at 39w4d at exactly 6lbs 13 oz.
2. I had no pressure with ds1. I carried him very high and he never "dropped" until after my water broke. This time, I have had pressure in my pelvis since mid 2nd tri. He is so, so low and always feels like he is about to come out. I have been checked a few times to make sure I wasn't dilating early.

I actually had a ultrasound the day I was induced. They guesstimated 7.5 lbs. she was 7lbs 7oz. So close.
I never had pelvic pressure with dd1. I am tall With a long torso, and carry pretty high. I didn't even drop untill I had been induces for several hours. But I was induced at 39w5d so really close to full term.

1. I didn't have a 36 week ultrasound, but they estimated size in an external exam - way, way off (2+ pounds under).
2. I never got low pelvic pressure with DS, but I carried him very high. This one (at 33 weeks) is starting already with pressure (mostly at the end of the day).

Oh wow I'm surprised that several of you never had that low pressure. I thought for sure that I shouldn't expect labor until I felt that, so that's good to know!!

1. I forget what they were but the measurements for S1 were way off. Said he was seven lbs plus and a week later when he was born he was less than seven. No guess for S2.
2. S1 I had lots of lightening crotch in the week or two leading to his birth. S2 I never really had it. Even the day of. I didn't really experience pressure with either.
1. I didn't have any late ultrasounds, except literally 30 seconds at my.... 38? 39? Week appointment just to be sure she was head down. They never did any weight estimates, at least, not so I knew about it. They were starting to rattle my cage about induction, and I was getting ready to push back about it, due to GD, but I never had a fundal measurement over what it was supposed to be, and DD was only 8lb on the nose after I went into labor on my own at 39+5, born 39+6.
2. I can't honestly tell you about pelvic pressure. With both kids, my pelvic bones and ligaments feel so abused since early on that if there is pressure, it sort of gets lost. However, the contractions were unmistakable, to both my mom and sister, who I called early the morning I went into labor because I was grouchy I couldn't sleep through the irritating pain I was having.... lol. I didn't realize what was happening, but they both got it right away.
This time, I am pretty sure she's been growing in the pelvic girdle, she didn't pop up til a month or two back! And then she visibly dropped last week again, but still no real pressure feelings.
Its interesting how many of us didn't actually feel pressure as such.

1. I've never had a third trimester ultrasound. My doc usually doesn't predict sizes that late because it can be so off. 2. I've had super pressure in my pelvis and crotch for awhile now. This baby just sits super low on me. But I believe I felt it for awhile with the last two.

1) At some point during Week 39 with DS, an ultrasound tech claimed he was 10 lbs, 5 oz. He was born at 39 weeks, 6 days weighing 9 lbs, 8 oz. My obgyn had predicted he'd be 9 1/2 lbs. following that ultrasound. I didn't have any late ultrasounds with DD. But my obgyn predicted shed be about 8 1/2 lbs, and she was 8 lbs, 4 oz at birth.
2) I guess with DD, I thought she'd dropped at 36 weeks, and I went into active labor at 39 weeks, 6 days. During week 38, I had a cervical check, and was shocked to be 3 cm. I didn't really feel much in the way of contractions until we were on the way to the hospital after my water broke. With DS, I don't remember him dropping. I was hospitalized for flu/dehydration at 36 weeks, and found out I was dilated 2 cm. Had sporadic contractions from 36 weeks on, with several times where we were almost a go, but they'd go away after an hour or so. Was 5 cm when we arrived at the hospital & he was born 3 hours later.
1. Didn't have a 36 week ultrasound with DD 2. Had pressure the last couple weeks (38 weeks until I went into labor at 40 weeks). 5 days before labor the pressure/pain got worse bc she flipped posterior. That was the worse!

1.Growth scan estimated 6 ish pounds and right up until DD was born they said to expect a 7lb average baby. She was 9lbs and big all the way around. 2. Never had the pressure feeling. I had contractions for 3 weeks prior to delivery everynight that were pretty bad, but never went anywhere.
