Hey renegadewhit!! From what I've noticed, there is a TC check-in for every day of the week but Sat & Sunday is combined as a weekend TC check-in. I know that CAR hasn't been as busy lately but I've noticed check-ins on the regular. I hope that helps! (How was the house hunting trip?!)
I feel like you are also right renegadewhit. I change on Wednesday and i never really went on the ticker change check in but i feel like its not really there now. CAR seems really slow atm and people just seem busy. IDK. I have been putting up the bump thread on fridays since it seemed as it wasn't getting up. And well its was one of my favs. But if i forget, it doesn't seem to get done. Which is ok. I just have to try better to remember. When do you change?

I run/ran the Saturday/Sunday ticker change check-in and it was very very slow. Usually only one, maybe two, people aside from myself checking in. In my last check-in we decided to discontinue the weekend check-in so you wont see that anymore.
1) start up a change for the defunct ones 2) move to a CAR wide check in if we are small enough (like CAL and most BMBs)
I would think a CAR wide weekly check-in would be better since the board is so slow right now. I love keeping track of everyone and it seems like a lot of the weekday check-ins are either struggling or have disappeared entirely.

As of right now I change on Saturday (though I guess that could change after my first ultrasound?)
Bpf is one of my favorites! I'm glad you post it!
I added having babies on it too, i like seeing the rainbows. I don't think anyone minds but if they do they can let me know.

Friday is pretty active but I think a bunch of us like to stalk the other days as well. I'd love for the board to be more active so a board wide check-in works for me!

crazycatlady6 - the first tri check-in was supposed to be whoever gets to it posts it. It ran for a while, then petered out because of a lack of a defined leader.
Sounds like there is a lot of consensus around moving to a board-wide check-in. The real question is - anyone want to volunteer to run it? The "whoever wants to posts it" check-ins aren't seeming to work too well here on CAR.

yay for a board-wide check in! Tuesday's going strong but I really liked the randoms yesterday that I got to hear from everyone. Do you think we have enough grads to make a grad check in also? Tag a bunch to get it started?

I mean, if you want to check in on grads you can always visit PAL . There's the infant and the toddler/big kid check ins over there where you can find many - but never enough - of your favorite PAL-ers. Plus there's the AL-wide check-in every 3 or 4 months or so.

unringthebell I think we would replace the individual day check-ins (and probably second and third tri).
My only hesitation on doing it would be even further slowing down the board. It used to be that PgAL on the other side had all sorts of threads - especially a lot of celebratory ones. People happily AW-ed half baked, the most pregnant I've ever been, 35/35, etc. There were lots of T&P threads before ultrasounds, more than there are today. Obviously the same intro and birth story threads we still have. The number of threads helped it feel like the busy place it was.
We've somehow lost a lot of the celebration spirit along the way it seems like sometimes. We still support each other in the tough times, but we don't cheer quite as much as we used to.

Totally agree! I think people are more cautious making a aw thread or just starting one in general. They shouldn't be, but thats what it feels like to me. But also i feel like a lot of people have had their rainbows recently and/or about to and sadly not a lot of new intros. Plus i also think summer in general is slower.
