Another week, another randoms thread

Addie tried to help mommy with dinner. But she tried after I removed all pots from stove and placed her hand directly on the burner.

Non stop screams, horrible mommy guilt, 3 hours later plus a doctor's visit with no Id number for our temp insurance....

2nd degree burns, hand wrapped in burn cream and bandage, 2 doses of Tylenol and me so close to tears.

Tonight has been a bust. Worst night ever.

Is it next week yet? I'm ready to be on vacation.

I know it can happen to anyone. I know she knows not to touch the stove. My H has been making snarky comments and I'm pissed.

I'm pissed because we were day drinking (not a lot but still..). I'm pissed I had to be overly concerned on cost of taking to doctors. I'm pissed I had to justify her helping me. I'm pissed my baby was in unbearable pain and inconsolable. I'm just pissed. This shouldn't have happened. And on top of being pissed, it makes me so sad.

She is asleep now...hopefully she stays asleep.

And I've never driven so fast in the interstate weaving in and out of traffic to get to the doctors..

RandomName 3 days for the whole thing or just the rash? She first started acting sick on Wed, had high fever Thurs/Fri/Sat, somewhat better Sun, then crazy rash today. Even if the rash does last 3 days, I'm just glad the fever is gone. Over 103 scares me.

The rash. I don't remember how long her fever lasted. We rushed to to emerg for her rash and were there until 2 am waiting. The Dr took one look and said classic roseola. It was much better in 2 days and (if I remember correctly) pretty much gone in 3.

Eta: yes, I also get worried about fevers. It was her first time sick so I was on high alert. I'm glad the fevers gone and I hope YD is feeling better!

@janetheconquerer I'm so sorry. I did this when I was a little older than Addie. If it helps i only remember putting my hand on the burner and nothing else. Hugs!

@janetheconquerer, I'm so sorry that happened. Poor Addie and poor mama. It's so easy for those things to happen no matter how vigilant we are. I hope she heals quickly.

carabassa, My DD1 had roseola a few months ago and once the fever broke she felt fine. The rash lasted about 2 days, but it didn't bother her and had definitely faded a lot by the second day. I hope Ida is better soon.

ampaints count down to vacation is on! Do you guys have anything planned? DH is off next week and we don't have anything planned. Might try an overnight adventure somewhere that will be good for both a 16 yo and 11 month old! Lol. If I can miraculously get our passports somehow we might take a quick trip to buffalo. We will see!

redandblue nothing big planned. M and I will spend time with different friends and just hang out. Then his party will be the Saturday after next, so I'm sure we'll finish getting things ready for that. I'm just excited to not set an alarm and have tons of time with M.

@janetheconquerer I'm so sorry! That sucks, for both you and Addie. It's awful when our kids get hurt like that. I still feel a lot of guilt for a bad fall J took when he was about a year old - so that's two years of guilt and counting. And I remember the frantic drive to the doctor's office too.

These things happen, and especially with toddlers can happen in the blink of an eye, and we shouldn't beat ourselves up over it. But I understand what you're feeling. I hope her hand heals quickly and that you're both feeling better today.

Addie is much better today. Hand us covered in blisters but the pain seems to have subsided.

I slept like crap. Caden was up at 4:30 then fell back asleep on me around 6.

No big plans today. Laundry, cleaning and grocery store.

I have a meeting today which means my late day won't be late. I even got to sleep in an extra hour. That makes up for the fact that the one co-worker I don't like is going to be there with me today and that we'll only have 3 people in the office tomorrow.
