prettymama36 have you been around since I told the story about the photographer of the viral photo of the tornado behind the bride and groom is a friend of mine and was taken in the vicinity of our place? We had about 6 touch down in our surrounding area that day, one right by our house. It was DS's first birthday and party and made for a very, very memorable experience (especially since no one was hurt or severely damaged) DS has seen pictures and videos from that day and thinks tornados mean it's his birthday now haha.

Trying to decide whether to make a doc appointment for A today....last night was the worst night we've had since he was born. It took two hours of crying/tantrums to get him fully to sleep then he woke at 1 sweaty and crying. I finally have him some Motrin around 2 and got him back sleep by 3. I just don't know whether to chalk this up to shots from last Wednesday still or something new, it just doesn't feel right coupled with his new crazy reaction to mosquito bites.
That gives me anxiety for you. Can you get an electrician to do that stuff or would that make it a bigger issue? All the wine for you.
H and I will talk about it. His dad wants to do the work, so it's a thing.
Oooh sorry for this budders. That's a tough situation that I hope you can get out of, especially since you're being put off until December. I've learned to proceed with caution when getting favors from family members. Will the kitchen area be safe for V in the mean time? That could be an argument for going ahead with an electrician.

Morning ladies. I am so tired today. I'm at the tail end of my 1st trimester, so sickness is waining, but energy is still lacking.
Free slurpee day at 7/11 ya'll!
Oh, and DH and I are thinking about doing some remodeling to our two bathrooms. Nothing major.
Guest Bathroom - new vanity top/sink (vanity itself is fine. just a new top and sink), new tile floors, refinish the tub. Master Bathroom - New vanity with top and sink, new floors, refinish the shower
We got our first quote yesterday and about laughed the contractor out of our house. Yeah, this guy quoted us $28,000 for the work we want done. Ummm, yeah no. We were able to completely re-do my grandmothers entire house for $27,000. Not paying $28,000 for some light remodeling. Getting a 2nd quote today.
To the early risers this Monday, a sweet way to look at 6am
SITB
The way DS jumps up and down in his crib and is just so overwhelmingly happy to see me in the morning, regardless of the hour, is hands down my favorite part of parenting so far. It's so amazing to see his enthusiasm for a new day
Hi everybody! I'm currently in bed with my starbucks by my side and my kindle. And totally alone. H is in classes until either 3:30 or 5:30 so I have much of the day to myself. I think I might go lounge by the pool...or just stay here. It's quiet and glorious. Mystere was amazing. There was so much going on and people doing crazy things. We walked back to our hotel which was only 2 miles but took 2 hours. So many people. We saw the volcano at the Mirage which was meh. It's 95 out at night and there was a lot of pyrotechnics involved there. Too hot. We also caught the water fountain display at the Bellagio. It was much more impressive and we kept getting misted which was very welcome. sammyca, I saw your doppelganger who even had an Australian accent....but then I saw her boobs hanging out and figured out it probably wasn't you.
budders, home reno is stressful. Moving is stressful. Your family is right that it will all be fine in the end but that doesn't make it better now. Put some wine in a travel mug, everyone will think you're just drinking coffee ;-) When does summer school start? Does your H teach it, too?

DD's doctors appointment started off with a resident taking info. He asked "Does she ever tell you verbally that her stomach hurts?". Wellllll she's 13 months...so....no. You could tell his little 22 year old self most likely doesn't have a toddler.

Oh and I also need recs for Wildwood NJ, my parents planned a quick weekend trip for all of us there and Ive never been. Places to avoid? Best places to eat? Kid friendly activities? Anyone ever been?
At the risk of sounding Internet stalker-y, when are you coming??? You'll be 25 mins from me...we should meet up if you have time!
Wildwood Attractions: Morey's Pier is pretty fun, like a carnival on the boardwalk basically. There's also a really cool farmer's market downtown. Splash Zone Water Park is decent, but I like the Pier better personally.
If you have a car, your DD would prob love the Cape May Zoo. It's free and they have quite a selection of animals. Hayley loves it! And it's in a state park with a picnic area with a big playground.

What shots did he get? The nurse told us that chicken pox and MMR have a week long delay to exhibit symptoms. The other 2 we got she said usually have immediate to 2 day discomfort

I forgot are you in Southern California? Remodels can be all across the board there. I feel like a cheap bathroom remodel is 5k for each bathroom. At the high end it would be 15k per bathroom.

@poppyc8, I would expect the price he quoted us if we were wanting top of the line material (we aren't) or doing full on reno (tearing down walls, re-plumbing, re-configuring, etc) which we aren't either. This is way excessive for just some updating. We'll see what the guy today quotes us. I am thinking, for what we want to do, and the materials we want to use, we should be in the $10,000 - $12,000 MAX range.
Oh, and his quote of $28,000 did not include any touch up painting that would need to be done

How long do you let your babies lay down with out them sleeping.... M had a car nap that I was hoping would turn into a real nap.... It's been almost 45 minutes and she's not sleeping.... But also not crying.... I'm debating on just getting her up.... I was really hoping for a nap
If LO is just up there talking or playing or acting for the most part calm, I leave her up there. Once she starts to get worked up is when I go up and get her.

Someone mentioned typing on a typewriter in one of the other threads, and it reminded me. There was a guy at the farmer's market yesterday with a typewriter selling on the spot poems, you pick the topic. My husband wanted to ask him to write one about the shitty hipster at the farmer's market with a typewriter selling poems...

He got Hib, MMR, Varicella and one more that I can't remember right now. I'm thinking it's just a delayed reaction like you said, but he's also having some drainage on the right side (eye and nose) coupled with a random mild fever. So I'm not sure if he's got an ear infection thrown in there too.
jessila I forgot to tell you I tried the chips! They're not the worst thing I've eaten, but they aren't amicable with my tastebuds. SS will finish them though. :-)
I'm glad you tried them. Don't worry about liking them because they are definitely acquired taste. Old bay is a powerful thing.
Hi friends. Vegas update: drunk at a conference related function. Eta-4 gin & sprites because I'm an old lady. And today I took a bubble bath while drinking a frappachino. Spelling us hard.
