I'm so grateful my weekend is over. My friend has definitely turned into a bridezilla and it's got me a bit ragey. She wants me to call her fiancé and apologize for not telling him where we were going - which I could've sworn I did. And, for not inviting his sister, who is a drug addict under the guise of having celiac disease. What's more irritating is I planned this with her sister and other friend- yet, she feels like she can take all her shit out on me.
Never planning anything for her again. Nope.
And I went to sleep and woke up with what feels like left lung pain. Hoping its from sleeping poorly the night before since one of the girls decided to leave her 5:30 am alarm clock ON and snooze it every 25 fucking minutes. Thanks a lot for the consideration. And this girl has 3 kids- she wanted to go to Walmart before breakfast.
I just discovered that the Rio Olympics schedule is going to coincide in part with our family vacation! You have no idea how happy this makes me as I love the Olympics!
Also, DD and I went swimming with SIL and nieces/nephew yesterday! SIL and I were talking vacation stuff. Still not convinced that BIL is out of his funk until I see him in person again, but I'll take it!
holliberry28, hope you're feeling better soon. Crappy sleep always makes me feel off, but if you're legit worried, I'd call a doctor, even just for peace of mind.
The bad - DS woke up SCREAMING at midnight. He finally passed out around 2 a.m. in our bed, I think I dozed off around 3. No judgement against co-sleeping, but it certainly isn't the ideal solution for our family. This wake-up seemed different from the horrors of last week in that he was relatively calm while we were with him, and would even go into his crib without complaint, but then after like, 5-10 minutes, after seeming to fall asleep, would wake up screaming again. We tried bottles, we tried getting him in our bed once before, but he wasn't having it. Nightmares maybe? When I dropped him off at day care, the teacher said it was a full moon because I guess a lot of the kids slept bad. Hoping it's a one-night only event.
The good - I ordered a dress from Banana Republic a couple weeks ago because it was on sale. When it arrived I didn't love how it just looked without trying it on. Well, I finally tried it on today for work, and it's super flattering! So I may feel like crap, but at least I look pretty!
The best - We're having tacos for dinner tonight. I can make it through today for that.

I always end up filling our "empty weekends." We had no plans yesterday, so when I found out my cousin and his kids were visiting I suggested we get together yesterday afternoon. Which turned into an all day event, we didn't get home until 7:30. So now the house is a mess, the laundry is unfolded, and I'm not sure when during the week I'm going to be able to get things back in order.
We have a super busy week full of activities, starting with a hike it baby hike and grocery shopping today. I also started my day off with a blueberry donut (the BEST) and delicious homemade peanut butter on toast.
LO is signing up a storm lately and it's so adorable!
Sorry about the bridezilla holliberry28, and I hope you feel better soon.
Widget123, the second week of the olympics coincides with our vacation and I'm not happy because I won't get to see as much. I'm hoping the events I like are on early.

Good morning! So happy to be at work this morning. DS is on grandparent hangover, so he was a peach lastnight and this morning. Hopefully in a day or two he's back to his normal self.
DH was snoring horribly lastnight, so I went to the couch. Didn't get a very good nights' sleep.

holliberry28 That definitely qualifies as bridezilla behavior. Yuck. DD made it into our bed by 1am last night, then woke me from a dream where I was eating this really delicious piece of cake this morning. I'm still a bit miffed at her. We have a GI doctors appointment for her this morning to address her intolerance issues. I'm dragging my H along since I think she will have to have bloodwork and I'm not sure I can handle seeing her get poked. Wish us luck!
We are under a heavy rainfall warning over the next couple days so we will be having a lot of well needed catch up time at home. It looks like we'll be getting quite the storm.
My big girls trip is coming up this weekend. I am both so flipping excited but also starting to get hit with realizing I'll be gone for a few days. I know once I get going I'll be fine, as I'm travelling with my sister and she's good company. Seattle Thursday and Sonoma Valley Friday for the rest of the weekend! Weeeeee wine!!
(ETA tagging @jemomma in case you aren't reading this, since I told you about it before. I'll try to remember all the places I tried!)
So, the simple renovations that we had planned on doing to our new house has exploded into an overwhelming mass of chaos, including a complete kitchen demo, thanks to H and my in-laws. It's going to look amazing when it's done, but I'm so stressed out because they're so much work to do, and is not going to be very livable by the time we have to move in on Friday. More than that, my father-in-law just told me that there's some electrical stuff that he won't be able to do until December, so the kitchen will only be half put together by then. Also, everyone just keeps telling me it's fine and not to stress about it, and I just want to strangle them when they tell me that.
Stocking up on wine today.
That gives me anxiety for you. Can you get an electrician to do that stuff or would that make it a bigger issue? All the wine for you.
All of this. So sorry it's chaos in your home right now budders.

tiffbot I was thinking of you this morning. Hoping you weren't close to the tornado! The storms here have been crazy. So much for a hot dry summer. budders good luck with the renos. Living without a functioning kitchen is the worse, I'd definitely see if hiring an electrician would speed things up a bit.

We are going to meet friends at a pool today. It's across town, so hoping that J sleeps the whole way there and back. One of these days we are going to take J to see secret Life of Pets at the drive in. Maybe tonight.

H and I are going to Sonoma/Napa Valley in September for our anniversary/my 30th bday trip, go eat all the yummy food and drink all the yummy wine and report back with recs!

The secret life of pets is really good! We went to see it on Friday. I'm jealous that you have a drive in theatre, I miss ours.
budders, you didn't miss it, I was guilty of a post and run. We decided to go with the college daycare (which was our original first choice). I think I'd just gotten used to the idea of our second choice and it was a huge shock to get in at our first choice since we'd basically been told there was no chance of a spot.
Also the demo on your house sounds beyond stressful. All the good vibes your way.
I'm anxious for you, budders. I hate having unfinished projects and I have a list of things around our house that need finishing and it drives me nuts - and they're all minor!
Oh and I also need recs for Wildwood NJ, my parents planned a quick weekend trip for all of us there and Ive never been. Places to avoid? Best places to eat? Kid friendly activities? Anyone ever been?
At work this morning, a (male) co-worker was talking about how he got a haircut and it was long over-due. I said "yeah, I need one really bad, as you can see. It's super long". And he goes, "yeah, and getting kinda thin at the ends?". Ummm, yes. But you don't have to point that out. He's such an A-hole.
Luckily it's only a 3 day work week because...vacation on Thursday!! We went shopping for snacks for the plane and I grabbed a couple of coloring/sticker books for DS1. I didn't get anything for LO, though. I just figured I would pack a few toys he hasn't seen in awhile?
prettymama36 I don't think there's been any confirmed tornados around me yet this year, but I can't log onto fb without someone posting a funnel cloud picture from somewhere. Tis the season I guess. Lol, I totally forgot it was predicted to be a hot dry summer.
@jemomma and ashbash will update for sure! One of the friends I'm going with has been there before so she has a few favourites she wants to go back to. I'll send you a pm in a bit!

tiffbot my bad, it was funnel clouds. I read an article this morning about how people were upset there was no warning given. glbn.ca/PpsisU Glad you guys were safe.
