So my sister bought the high chair I put on my registry a while ago and has just recently given it to us. Well I was just on babies r us and found one that appears to be a much better version (on the very front page so it the first thing you see on the website, of course) of the one I picked it would easily transion from baby to toddler and so on changes to a booster seat and what not. Basically would last us years where as the one I picked is just a hight adjustable high chair. The thing that attracted me to the one I choose was because in our limited space I wanted something I could fold and store away easily and no others I saw folded down in one piece.
My question is would you try and return the one you got for the one you want or just leave it? If it was anyone else I'd just trade it in. But as it's my sister she'll know the moment she comes over.
Personally, I would return it for the one you want, but first, I would thank your sister for her generosity and let her know what you're doing so she isn't surprised when she sees the different chair.
FWIW, we have the Graco Duodiner highchair, and I wouldn't choose it again - technically, it folds down (we live in the city, so we are also dealing with limited space), but I never folded it in between uses because to do so, you have to remove the chair piece and then fold the base. Too much of a hassle for me. If I had it to do over, I would have chosen a high chair with a much smaller footprint. With #2, as soon as s/he doesn't need the highchair to be reclined, I will store the base and attach the chair portion to one of our dining chairs to save space.

I'd return it and get the one you want, but since she's your sister I like caz's idea of just giving her a heads up. She bought that first one because it was the one on your list - she didn't go store to store and personally pick out a high chair to buy you. Obviously I don't know your sister, but f you re-thank her and let her know you're going to exchange it for one that will grow with Jackson, I would think she wouldn't mind.
I agree with the other comments. I would exchange it and give her a heads up. Since it's from your registry, I think it's much easier since it's not something she spent hours picking.
Something to think about, ours could transition but we basically stopped using it by 18 months and he had a mini table/chair that he loved instead. I think we put it away finally around 21 months because he fought going in it.
