I love Sirius but I feel like he didn't need to maul Ron and then go on an unhinged rant about how "he" needed killing before finally revealing he was a good guy. It's like he deliberately mislead us to create drama and tension!

The Harry and Ginny story didn't come out of nowhere. It started way back in the second book when Ron says Ginny had been talking about Harry all summer. It is not the best beginning for a relationship though.
Probably because Hermione is a beautiful genius and Ron is kind of a dumbass? She can do better.
Just when I thought we were starting to bond over dogs peeing in yards, you throw this at me. I feel like I don't know you anymore.
FTR, I don't have any strong feelings about Ron and Hermione. I was just explaining where the criticism of this couple would come from. Realistically, once the excitement dies down, Hermione is going to wonder why she wastes her time and energy with someone who can't even seem to load the dishwasher correctly even though she fucking invented a dishwasher loading spell just so she wouldn't have to have this goddamn conversation with him one more goddamn time.
Sirius's death was v anticlimactic. I actually thought he wasn't dead and refused to believe he was until the last page of DH because it was such a throw away non dramatic death to me for such an important character.

I never liked Dobby. I wasn't at all sad when he died.
I'm finally watching the movies, although I read all the books as they came out. I did see a video clip of Emma Watson shipping Hermione and Ron before they actually got together, so there are layers there that I missed.
I do agree that the Harry and Ginny thing felt more random. Certainly talking about a celebrity all summer that you've never met isn't a sign of much. Didn't work out for most of us in junior high...
When I first read the series (as a teenager living in Kenya, I should add), I thought Seamus Finnigan's name was pronounced Sea-mus and not Shay-mus. It was years before I realized I was wrong, and my husband has not let me forget it.

He then stayed at her house which is why Ron brought it up. They had a few years of knowing one another before they got together. That was just the first time they make the reader aware that Ginny is attracted to Harry. Still not a great beginning to a relationship but it isn't random.
I did not like how forceful Dumbledore was in Goblet of Fire movie when questioning Harry over how his name was put in there. Especially since he was so calm in the books. I know Michael Gambon can act out the character as he sees fit, but it just felt wrong to me.
I feel like Ginny/Harry should have just been a fleeting crush on your older brother's friend situation. I hated Harry with Cho because she was high drama and playing games and Harry was inattentive to her at best and uninterested at worst. FFFC--I actually would have preferred to see Harry end up with Luna. I think she brought the mysticism balance to his realism and could have been a lot of fun.
I totally agree with Sirus' death. It was the most BS death in the history of ever and he was deserving of a much, much better end.
I think with Draco being the sniveling twit that he was, there should have been something worse happen to him than just have him show up at the end and drop his (probably just as entitled and bratty) kid off for school like nothing happened. I would have liked to actually see that he learned something and broke the cycle of prejudice and shit attitude.
The movies did a shit job of showing just how very poor the Weasley family was. I like Hermione and Krum, too. JK has said in retrospect Harry and Hermione belong together... Eff that noise.
Not being sad when Dobby died is next-level. I liked Kreacher more, but damn, that's cold.
Im going to get flamed out of the Harry Potter thread for not liking an annoying slimy puppet that talks about himself in the third person, aren't I?
I didn't hate him, but I did find him rather needy and annoying. Too freaking clingy and obsessive for my tastes. Like when cats are constantly rubbing against your leg and underfoot because it's time to feed them.
I wasn't a Dobby fan but was sad when he died. I was super upset about Hedwig. I have a soft spot for Draco that I cannot rationally explain. I just feel bad for him.

I kind of thought that was a point though. How quickly and easily you can lose someone you care about. Maybe I'm reaching though.
No I get what she was going for in that sense but I still just felt like it wasn't dramatic enough.
Did y'all know there is Drarry fanfic? There are other people besides the movie actors to imagine Harry and Draco (not Daniel Radcliffe and whoever Draco was). scoutkate where are the hot Drarry pics?
