opheliainwaders, now I want an oreo blizzard so bad. I love those, & there is one less than 5 minutes from my house.
Completely random- On our car trip last weekend, H & I began to talk names, so we have one we both like, but we can't seem to agree on any others. I already feel frustrated by it, thank goodness we have time.
Speaking big Oreo blizzards, I just discovered the Royal ones that have hot fudge down the core. Oh. My.
aprilz81 , not sure if I am helping or not but can you carry a refillable water bottle with you? I have an insulated one that stays very cold for a few hours. I bring it with me everywhere.
I'm taking a few with me, but I'm not sure I can take it into the parks. And when I'm in the parks I'm not sure how easily free water can be found. I'm probably overthinking this, but I haven't been to Disney in 20 years and certainly not while pregnant and needing to stay hydrated.

aprilz81 We went to Disney last year and were able to bring in our own water bottles. Also, you should be able to get cups of ice water for free from any of the quick service restaurants (versus the sit down/table service restaurants)
peaseblossom55, Hang in there and I'm sorry you are having a rough time right now.
lakegirl, I'm really sorry for the scare! Do you have an anterior placenta? I do and they couldn't find the HB with a doppler on me at 12 weeks but my ultrasound at 13 weeks was fine.
I booked a work trip to Orlando yesterday. I will be onsite for a huge event at Disney for 8 days. In theory it will be fun but I'm terrified I'm going to just be worn out and miserable.
I had the option of coming home on a weekend, but even with a non stop flight it wasn't worth the hassle of dealing with airports, TSA, possible flight delays, etc. just to spend 48 hours at home.
DH is technically allowed to come down on the weekend, which was our original plan, but I only have about 24 hours without work duties. No sense in spending the money for him to fly down and only get to spend one day with him.
I'm also worried (and will be talking this over with my boss who will also be onsite) about staying hydrated. We will be working 12 hour days (if not more) for most of the time we are down there and it will be a lot of back and forth, time in the parks for activities, and more activity than I'm generally used to. You add in the heat and humidity of Orlando in August and it is a recipe for disaster.
The easy answer is to buy a bottle of water, but this stupid company won't reimburse you the expense of a bottled water, but they will a bottle of soda. I'm going to take a few cups with me, but I'm not sure I can take them into the parks. I don't want to spend $5 for a bottle of water out of pocket every time I need a drink.
Since I'm on the event planning team I'm considering asking the hotel (Disney resort) to keep a pitcher of water in my room so when I am there I have easy access. I'm just concerned that it will be tap water (which is probably fine but I'm paranoid).
Ideas?
I'm not sure what kind of attire you have to wear for work, but can you bring a Camelback into Disney? I was just recently at Seaworld, and that was no big deal there.

Yes I had one a few weeks ago it was amazing. Ughh I want one now.
I think I've mentioned before that DH works for a beer distributor. Look what he brought home! I am so excited to put them on the deck (he brought two).
aprilz81 no one has said anything about placenta placement but after today I wonder. Could you bring an empty water bottle or buy one there and refill it? I feel like Disney would have those refilling stations. Also that's a dumb work policy to reimburse soda but not water.
I have a feeling it is to encourage us to "Go Green" when we travel, but still... If that is the case they shouldn't reimburse any drinks bought outside of a restaurant. I would think they would rather employees purchase water at an airport than a Mountain Dew.
And I usually don't pay attention because I usually just buy a soda before I get on the plane, but I don't exactly see a lot of water fountains easily accessible at airports. Traveling for business is inconvenient enough without having to go on a scavenger hunt for water.

So my mom has been fighting cancer since December, she is a 2 time breast cancer survivor but it came back last year. She had blood work last week that showed it was spreading so she had a scan. She just got the results of the scan today and they are good! She still has cancer, and will most likely always have cancer but it isn't spreading and she gets to stay on the same meds she's been on plus no more radiation. We are all so happy, we were nervous about this scan.

Fortunately this meeting is casual (as in shorts, tshirts and flip flops if I want) since we will be out and about the entire time. I don't have a camelback, but I should probably look into a more portable cup than my current Teva type ones.

I'm so happy you guys got some good news, my parents are both cancer survivors so I know the stress about all the scans but it's great you can take a breathe.
Ugh. Add me to the backed up club. I should be sleeping for work but my stomach and lower intestines are killing me right now and the only thing that works is coffee. Which will defeat the purpose of me sleeping.
