We survived our walk. It is so hot, and the girls made me stop about every 5 feet to look at ants or something. But we made it home! Anxious for my OB appointment tomorrow morning, hoping for some progress from last week.
Wth...went into DD's room and it smelled so bad. Then I see there are poop bits all over her shirt and shorts...and the carpet. Also, under her fingernails...

DH is complaining that our bedroom is too cold at night we don't have AC and it's been in the 90-100plus everyday for a week. So yes I have two fans pointed at me and no they aren't getting turned off go get some more clothing if you are cold.
Going to third base (I think that's the one it is) for the first time with my OB today...group b strep test. Haha.
Third base is a Q-tip in my butt?!!!!!! SHHH - don't tell my husband.
Haha, well it's the first time my OB is seeing my privates so that's something, right? Just got in and was told they'll do the GBS next week instead...darn.

LOL between IF testing, monitoring, IVF, twins, cervical monitoring... I have lost track of how many people have seen my vagina in the past year (and clearly that number will just keep growing with birth and recovery). I don't think I can really call them my "private parts" anymore hahahaha
The ironic part is that I haven't been able to see down there for months.
I had a MW appointment today, everything is looking good. Baby is head down, measuring right on time according to fundal height and the MW thinks she'll be about 7lbs (though I'm not sure how accurate a measure one can get just by feeling my ute...) next appointment is in 2 wks, for GBS and an optional cervical check. Can't believe how close even us end of the month ladies are getting!! Can't wait to read all the labor stories and gush over all our babies

shanny did you get everything cleaned up? That's miserable.
Someone from swim "team" just sent me an invite to her Jamberry nails party. Actually, no, just because I complimented your nails doesn't mean I want to buy Jamberry from you. Sigh. I think Jamberry is fine but I already have enough actual close friends who I am happier to financially support who sell it.

dc2london you're horrible!!! Just kidding, this last trimester is dragging ass for everyone here!
I heard back from my OB's office earlier and I'm anemic so iron supplements and lots of red meat and dark green veggies in the meantime. Funny anecdote, my mom was anemic with me, but 36 years ago they told her to eat liver once a week. I'm glad I don't have to do that!
Also a WWYD, MH and I signed up for a newborn care class that were supposed to go to Saturday but I'm not in the mood to drive out an hour and MH won't drive anywhere near metro NYC so I'll be driving both ways. The thought of it makes me tired and cranky. So should we just skip it and hope someone teaches us how to change a diaper or should I just bite the bullet and go? Another option instead of driving would be taking a train and an uber to the hospital where the class is.

youdontsay - funny story. As a 6 month old one of DD2's favorite foods was acorn squash mixed with liver and pureed (and yes, I know about the risks of too much vitamin A from liver for babies, we kept it to an acceptable portion size). She had a very weird palate as a baby.

Preach.
At my last growth scan, they were pushing so hard on my pubic bone trying to get very elusive images of my cervix. I finally asked if a vaginal ultrasound would be easier. They were like "Are you sure??"
I laughed "Um, yes... I dealt with IF and several IUIs. I've had, like, 40 vaginal ultrasounds. Do what you gotta do." They loved me.
The tech did ask if I wanted to place the vaginal ultrasound myself. Uh. No? You can see a lot better than me, thanks.
gratefulgirl, I cleaned everything but the carpet...I had to leave for OB so I put MIL in charge of getting carpet cleaner and such. Mean mommy.
Since I accidentally posted this in Wednesday, I will repost...
WWYD? So the perinatologist scheduled my induction for August 5 at 8 pm (when I'm 39 weeks exactly, but baby has been measuring a few days behind) so we'd expect him to be here on August 6. She did say if we wanted to, we could schedule for a day later. DD's birthday is October 7 and our anniversary is April 7...it'd be kind of sweet (and easy for H to remember) if LO's birthday is August 7. The hospital is a little more than an hour away so I am a little nervous about the risk of going into labor earlier and having to go to a local hospital and then have baby airlifted to UCSF. My OB today told me if I really want August 7, I shouldn't feel it's a stupid reason to want all those special dates to be on the 7th. Would you just stick with the 5th or move to 6th at night (when he'd be expected to be born on the 7th)? Sorry, I know this is kind of a silly question! Thanks!
Appointment went well. I'm magically measuring back on track. However, I started to get really nauseous when I was laying back on the table and I barely made it to the bathroom to throw up and pee myself. So now I'm headed back to work without underwear. #glamorous
shanny if the doctor is cool with it, I don't think it's silly! I'm sure it's nerve-wracking to have so little control over the conditions surrounding your son's birth. This is something you can pick and is super happy!

PSA if you're a procrastinator like me and still haven't ordered your breast pump. Call McKesson Patient Care Solutions. They take your info, contact your insurance for you, and get back to you about your coverage. Then they help you order the pump.
They only have a couple pump options but they have the Medela PISA which is what I want... and I was having a really hard time getting instructions from my insurance company about how to order it. I've been avoiding dealing with it because I didn't want to call my insurance but now I don't have to YAY
