Today is DS1's annual allergy testing. He has it in his head that he will have outgrown his peanut allergy (it's not totally unreasonable, each year he has outgrown one of his food allergies). I don't think he has and am worried he will be really disappointed.

Sorry I've been MIA lately! I think I've been overwhelmed with the thought of actually having a baby soon! Like it's really happening!
This past weekend was my birthday, my best friends (including hummingbird125 came to visit me), and surprised me with a baby shower! A couple of more friends showed up too and I did my best not to burst into tears because I was so happy! I still don't know how they all pulled it off (with the help of MH) but they did and I'm so so happy and appreciative!
Yesterday I had an OB appointment and BPP, baby looked good but I wasn't feeling too well. I thought my MS was back in full swing but my OB was concerned about preeclampsia so they did some more bloodwork yesterday and told me to take the rest of the day off. I haven't heard back from the OB so no news is good news!!!! I go back tomorrow to see her for a follow up, I'm going to try to take a personal day just to get some rest. I've decided to finally take it easy for the rest of my pregnancy.

youdontsay, I heard about your shower over on NEY, glad you had such a nice time with everyone! Hopefully you're right about the no new good news. Definitely take it easy. Yesterday I felt like run down garbage so I gave myself permission to skip my Bradley class and go to bed at 8pm.
So between 8pm and 1am, I got up to pee 6 times!!!! WTF. I normally don't drink a lot of water so I pee like 3 times during the entire workday. So for me to go that many times in a short period of time was pretty nuts lol. But I managed to get back to sleep after each one. Still very exhausted.
I have been super exhausted lately! The littlest things tire me out way more than they should.
I am trying to finish baby laundry. Yesterday was blankets and burp cloths. Today is covers - car seat, bouncy, rock n play, swing.
I am also having a hard time deciding whether I want to breastfeed this time around. I bf'd ds for 9 months, but I hated every single minute of it. And it was so time consuming, and I have no idea how I will do it with a busy toddler now. Formula feeding sounds super appealing, but then I worry I will feel some sort of guilt? I don't know what to do. And as we are getting closer to the due date I feel like I need to figure this out soon.
I'm working from home today since I have two doctor's appointments later this afternoon (MFM to go over my first week of glucose monitoring and OB). I can't even explain how much I NEEDED this WFH day and didn't realize it until now. Work has been insanely busy and stressful for the past week and and what with my body adjusting to this low carb diet and this awful cold I've had since Sunday, I felt like I was running on empty. It wasn't good for me or for baby. When I got home after work yesterday, I let the dog out and just collapsed in bed for the next 3 hours. My wonderful DH made dinner and took the dog for a walk. Then I got to sleep in until 8 this morning. I seriously feel like a new person. I really reeeaaally need to talk to my boss tomorrow and ask him if I can WFH 2 days a week (I'm thinking Tuesday and Thursday) for the next two weeks (until I'm officially DONE). If he says no... well, then next week may just need to be my last week of work, because I can't keep up anymore.
In other news - I'm 37 weeks today! Ready when you are, kid!
redhead610 is this something you feel comfortable deciding more last minute? Like maybe have formula on hand, but if the baby happens to latch easily or if you enjoy it more this time you can stick with it or do a little of both. If you still hate it then you won't have guilt over not giving it a shot.

ITA with this. I hated BF with DD1 pretty badly for most of it and she was a constant nurser until 8-12 weeks and ate way more than most babies her age until weaning. DD2 was a totally different experience. She has always been and still is a fast eater. BF-ing her was a totally different experience. There was some hard stuff - mastitis, her tongue and lip tie and gassiness - but it was not at all time consuming. DD1 was pretty happy to sit next to me and read books while I nursed. She held the book and turned the pages and I read.
I'm hoping DD1 will entertain DD2 while I BF DD3 this time, but I'm ready and willing to wing it!
redhead610, I know how hard of a decision it is to decide about BF/FF. I decided to go straight to formula this time, and it took me a while to come to peace with it (which is sad how much pressure/guilt society places!). I was worried I would feel guilty for not trying with this one, but I feel good about it now. Anyway, the right decision is whatever is best for you/your family.
Baby may have been sitting on your bladdler or something spicysalmonroll, the fast few nights were like that for me too. And then last night just 3 times. It was a dream. Hopefully baby moves for ypu tonight.
Happy birthday hummingbird125!! Gl at your appointments and FX your boss is ok with the idea!

I had a great "welcome baby" dinner last night with my family. They bought little gifts for her, and had a small cake, and it was nice to have a little celebration for her.
I've been really uncomfortable with a lot of cramping yesterday. The girls and I are going out for a walk this morning and I hope I make it through ok! This could be interesting..
redhead610 what about combo feeding and see what works best for you? I know lots of moms who have successfully combo fed from the start. Either way, don't put so much pressure on yourself. The best thing you can do for your kids is to take care of yourself
And the humidity. It's like breathing underwater out there!!
We have one day with a high under 90 forecasted in the next 15. My dad is coming to mow our lawn this afternoon and I feel really bad that he picked today, but I don't know what day would be better.

I calculated that I have 80 hours of work left before maternity leave.
Well, paid work that is. The at-home work is just kind of a thing that rolls on.
We had such a terrible hospital stay last time that DH really wants me to push to leave early. If it's so bad again I will, but if it's not I want to stay my full 3 nights. It's the only way I get a break from the constant pressures of home.
Good morning. The toddler is at daycare this morning and I am blissfully home alone. Im doing a course this month for work so I am trying really hard to stay motivated and on task. It's so hard when all I want to do with my free time is baby prep or sleep.
Has anybody gotten a baby book? Have one you recommend? Do you bring it to the hospital for footprints? Is that a thing?
All 3 of my girls have Pearhead baby books - DD1 and DD2's are different covers with the same inside, but they changed the format a bit for DD3. Oh well. It has an insert for the front page and an insert for a page inside with hand and footprints. I always remember the footprint cards for the hospital and forget the handprint. Oops.
But yes, I bring them. In addition the hospital does a card that they write on.
I need to add a little more to DD1 and DD2's, but they are pretty close to up to date. Both books have stuff for the first 5 years. Some of it is back story you can write in before birth.

I picked one up last week! One of my girlfriends mentioned the footprints/handprints thing if you bring the book to the hospital with you at go time. So I have it packed with my go bag. I didn't want a book with just baby info, I wanted one like my mom got for me which included how much things cost the year baby is born and lucked out with a really cute gender neutral one from Walmart

I got the one below. But, I wasn't looking for a straight baby book with "first word," etc. I wanted a place to put pictures/cards because I literally didn't know what to do with them. The company makes many versions that allow for things to be written such as the typical baby book things.
My mom gave me this frame for the first year. I plan to put the footprints in the largest hole and then monthly pictures in accordingly. I do not plan to personalize it with the baby's name.

hannahbear our hospital actually has a checkbox on the birth plan worksheet about having baby's footprints in a separate book. The nurses asked too - everyone was pretty accommodating with that stuff. I ordered one from Etsy and will just get the same one for this baby.
It's my birthday! We're going to the aquarium and out to lunch. I'm hoping I can power through - I really don't want to spend my birthday on the couch, but I'm already really sore today.
